Thought I was being clever by 'refreshing' my Co-operative Bank Regular Saver a couple of months ago. Now i see I have £500 in it as expected, but online the stated interest rate is 'null%'. No mention of the interest rate at all in the app. I may have messed something up along the way, but currently await a response to a query I've raised via secure message.

My Super Saver is maturing in 13 days (22nd April). I haven't received any communication with regards to options yet. I assume that the funds will be available to withdraw on 23rd. AFAIK it's a cheque. I will be collecting it in branch and depositing in one of the banks straight away, there are 3 bank branches next door to LoughBS, but otherwise the only option is to ask them to send the cheque by post. That's the procedure for withdrawing from passbook accounts I was told when I last visited the branch (nearly a year ago), I don't think it has changed since. The only alternative is CHAPS😕

If you are going to visit to collect a cheque, I would give them advance notice. Plus you will need to take or send the passbook.

CHAPS cost is £10.00 and they will combine multiple different account withdrawals into one CHAPS charge.

Very interesting that there were no new regular savers launched in April 2026.

I've got 5 Principality six month and tripel access savers maturing later in April with no replacements.

Also Chorley regular saver maturing on the 31st for which I've opted to renew - only 5% but its £400 a month.

Which means that April 2027 there will be Chorley and Hanley branch regular savers maturing either ends of the month but thats all. I will have to refresh - probably the Halifax regular saver which only has a month to go but it will redistribute things so there is a 3rd saver maturing in April 2027..

May is the maturity month for LLoyds both savers. I've also got Yorkshire building society regular savers and Coventry regular savers maturing In May but both YBS and Coventry have such pitiful interest rates at the moment and I cant see them improving in the next month.

The issue is a twofold one - no new regular savers coming along and also building societies dropping their interest rates so low that they are not worth bothering with.

Money might as well sit in Zopa or Chase easy access savers or easy access ISAs for the time being.

Well if anyone's especially bored between regular saver launches, feel free to send me a message, I have a couple of odd jobs I can hand out to people related to the regular saver threads. All you'll need is a bit of patience, access to the internet and the ability to type things into a spreadsheet.

You'll get 50% of what I get paid to maintain the RS threads (nowt), but you might get a mention in the introductions to one or both of the RS threads I maintain.

They said, and that's the case with most BSs in my experience, you don't need an appointment for withdrawals or for closing accounts. Of course you need to bring your passbook and ID for any transaction in branch, can't be done otherwise.

CHAPS will cost me more than the fuel for this transaction. Combining several accounts facility isn't useful when your RSs mature at different times.
