Note with Dudley, you can view the account online but to make withdrawals/closure it's branch/post only. In my experience if you contact them they'll send you an application form with prepaid envelope.

Monmoutshire
I was able to refresh my regular saver quickly. Gave instruction to close it on Sunday evening. I could open a new one on Monday morning via the app. Withdrawn funds expected to arrive tomorrow. Painless.
Nationwide
Anyone know what the timeline is to close/open a Nationwide regular saver?

They are very quick and efficient.
I decided to close early my Dudley BS Regular Saver Issue 9 (due to mature July 2026; this account does not allow partial withdrawals but does allow early closure).
Posted a short letter of request plus withdrawal form (completed for closure, form available on their website to download and print) plus passbook* on a Monday (couple of weeks ago) with second class stamp. Requested funds by FP to my nominated account.
Funds (including interest to closure) were in my bank account on the Tuesday (letter must have been delivered "next day").
Closed and updated passbook received on the Wednesday by post from Dudley.
*Note:- you may have an online account with Dudley with a nominated bank account. However I did not make the assumption that the nominated account would be usable for funds coming out from a postal account, so I also sent a "nominated bank account" form (also available to download and print from the website) filled out with my bank details and for the Dudley account which I was closing. Not sure this was necessary but I didn't want to faff about with having to send it on later.

Refreshing accounts
Same experience here with MonBS. Withdraw funds and requested closure and residual interest Sunday night via secure message and had both in my nominated account by close of business today (Monday).
Nationwide, easy to close and get the interest - although you have to do it on the website, rather than the app - but I've tried all today get the new account and it still says I have one, so will try again tomorrow. This is why I jumped the gun and started a bit earlier than I'd do usually for month-end openings, though I've never had so many to refresh before!
Did Lloyds renew in a matter of minutes with a new CL RS re-opened and have sent a message to Co-Op and still waiting for a reply (but got the money out in any case, to re-deposit into my ISA).
Annoyingly my Zopa matures on the 7th April (when I thought all in the interest would go into 26/27) but will get the money out on the 5th ready to feed my non-refreshed RS in April

Two days ago I gave maturity instructions, so far it’s happening.

How did you give the instruction to close your Monmouthshire Regular Saver? I cannot see an option to close it in the app, only an option to transfer
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Hey thanks Masonic. I have emailed them quoting that screensaver. I found it myself. So they should be duty bound to honour the agreement if its still up and showing live. We shall see?

I closed it via the web service. I think there was Close account option. But the new account HAD to be opened in the app!

I still cannot see any option to close it on the website.
Do you mean you messaged them?
