I'd wager the majority of holders don't max the account either, since it hasn't been a top rate at any point. Mine receives whatever is left over when better accounts are filled and unless I end up with more spare money than expected between now and May, won't even make £850. I recall a number of forumites opening it speculatively so as to get a foot in the door with Loughborough, so there are probably accounts with about £15 in too.

Thank you for this, the spreadsheet link is enormously helpful.

Hi,
Thanks for the effort that goes into maintaining this super useful thread!
I'm hoping to "renew" (close and asap re-open) some of my regular savers so that the interest is taxable in the current tax year. Though, I'm not sure if it's allowed or penalties will apply. Your opinions are appreciated. I have (amongst others) the accounts below;
- Monmouthshire Regular Saver (Issue 8): seems like I can close this without penalty and reopen
- Nationwide Flex Regular Saver (Issue 7): haven't made any withdrawals so far, so possibly can withdraw/close and reopen without penalty. Not 100% sure.
- Vernon Online Regular Saver: can close it without penalty. Not sure that I'll get the interest this tax year though since "Interest is calculated daily and added to your account annually at the end of the month the account was opened".

West Brom Winter Ready Regular Saver at 6% NLA.
Replaced by West Brom Fixed Rate Regular Saver Issue 8 at 5%.
Account lasts 1 year
£200/mth max
Branch opening, though can be opened online if you live in one of their branch postcode areas B (Birmingham), DY, WV, WS or SY6 -
Monmouthshire can be refreshed but it takes a few days to do based on reports.
Nationwide can be refreshed and the terms don't prevent you refreshing Vernon.

Is the Dudley 1225 a new issue of their previous RS? I'm away and can't check what I already have. Am sure I have one at 5.50%
Can call in branch but would rather not drive if I get told "you've already got it"😂

West Brom...
Anyone recall whether the postcode restrictions were the same for the Winter Ready account? I don't remember seeing any restrictions, and was able to open the account despite not living anywhere near the West Midlands. (Not a deliberate attempt to breach the T&Cs)

Dudley RS - 1225
I think each issue is separate — so this one is '1225' (the Festive Regular Saver Online was '1176', for example), and therefore one account per person can be opened of EACH separate product. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No. I managed to open one without issue.
