Hi everyone. Yesterday (22nd March 26) I did some research into TEMBO HOMESAVER, (I am not moving house) but they had a deal on whereby you can save £25K for 1 year and they were offering an interest rate of 4.75% AER variable as of March 2026.
Downloaded the TEMBO app. However it only allowed me to transfer £20K. ?
Went onto the in-app "Chat" option to ask them why was it only allowing £20K and the person kept on telling me I was allowed to transfer £25K ? So I spent ages going round in circles chatting to this person (who I think was A.I ?) In the end I thanked them and said I would telephone TEMBO Monday morning and speak to someone as it was now 7pm and they were closed for phonecalls.
Rang them this morning and spoke to someone who advised that it appears (?) the maximum amount is now only £20K (and no longer £25K). Even he was not sure, and he works there!
Has anyone else had this issue with TEMBO? I've put in a complaint which will be looked into and they will get back to me within 48 hours to either let me know if they will honour the £25K amount or not? (Because I do have it in writing on the chat thread from yesterday when I was chatting back and forth that the "cap" was £25K)
Cheers everyone

I'm a long way away from West Brom area and managed to open one no problem

I also opened a Winter Ready in early January online without being in the West Midlands. I seem to remember that they amended the terms of the Winter Ready to add postcode restrictions later.

There were no postcode restrictions for the first few weeks after Winter Ready launched, it became restricted later.

The new Dudley BS regular saver is a new issue, thus you can open one of each.
With respect to West Brom, the Winter Ready RS began without postcode restrictions but then introduced them later for online applications.

West Brom BS Fixed Rate Regular Saver (Issue 8)
When applying for a West Brom BS Fixed Rate RS (Issue 8), one is asked the question do you live in postcode area B (Birmingham), DY, WV, WS and SY and, if answering honestly No, the response is you can’t open this account online if you don't live in one of our branch postcode areas.

I'm guessing that they outsource their ID checks (eg it costs them per check), having this test at the top will stop a few applications getting through to the ID check and then having to bounce the application later.

Its a pity about the new West Brom especially as we are already with them - I did manage to get the Winter Ready West Brom before the postcode exclusions applied.
Dudley - new regular saver. Not had a Dudley account before so are there any key points to know?
If I fill in the application forms with a cheque plus for ID my credit card statement and for OH the Council Tax bill will that be enough to pass the ID requirements?
Do they issue passbooks - if so are these required to be returned at maturity?
Is it soley a branch account with no ability to view the account online?

Near the top of the Dudley pdf application form it says "Please note that once you have opened your account, you can register to view your account online through our Online Service"
