Well I never, I just got a notification from your post that was in this unreliable format: forums.moneysavingexpert.com/activity/98918416/mark-read-and-redirect?transientKey=ni8rlxi1RZAQTAJn

I see it only when I view notifications while in this thread. If I navigate to another thread the notification link changes to: forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81874950/#Comment_81874950

I've not seen this before, so it does indeed seem to be a newish thing and weirdly inconsistent.

I don't know whether it is just me but, since the editor changed, I have noticed a significant increase in posts not actually posting when clicking the "Post Comment" button.

It was very rare before but now quite frequent and on both PC and mobile phone. I often have to click twice, sometimes three times.

I suspect the autosaving of draft posts (which is new to this editor) could have something to do with this. I've noticed this on the odd occasion on mobile, but not enough to be bothered by it.

My concern @masonic is that I'll duplicate (or even triplicate) my post by having to do extra clicks.

It appears to be part of the auto-saving behaviour. Stopping typing for more than a few seconds triggers an auto save, sometimes that seems to take a fraction of a second, other times it takes several seconds, it does not seem to be related to internet connection so I am presuming it is more related to server load.

Agreed … and if you click Post Comment during an auto-save then the click is probably not registered.

    Automatically Save Draft: poll

Hi everyone, I've made a comment on this thread addressing the auto-save function.

And there's now a poll for you to have your say.

Can we go back to the old style please. I'm 40 years of age, supposed to be "tech savy" and I can't make head nor tail of this stupid update.

All I want to do it edit quotes at times, and change my font. 2 quite simple things that should be a basic thing to do, yet there is no way to do it.

Really annoyed at this, and I have no inclination to learn all this new rubbish. I'll probably just read from now on if this carries on.

Editing to add, why can' I preview what I post before posting either??

Any chance of my issue being addressed by the Forum team? @MSE_Steven?

I’ve tried so hard to get on with this new editor but regrettably, so much is harder to do than the old editor, it doesn’t work properly, the autosave causes a short hang when nothing works, bizarre things happen and on and on.

It’s got so bad I don’t post nearly as much because every post is a chore.
