Are you sure it has actually gone. I did that and found a blank draft was in the My Drafts link.

IMO many of these features are designed by and to be used by "computer geeks" rather than casual users.

Yes the blank draft is there, but it's doing no harm. Clearing and saving is marginally less work than going to another area of the site to delete properly.

The problem here though is that the new editor is very buggy. Things that worked fine, no longer work.

In some cases you can't even type text into a post without either letters duplicating, the text cursor moving or formatting breaking.

I definitely agree with quote editing! That needs a good look at!

    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

    INSERTING EMAIL ADDRESSES

It was awkward with the old editor and is even worse with the new editor.

If you copy an email into a post this is what you get: forumteam@moneysavingexpert .com

It takes the first word after the "@" and thinks you are mentioning a user (and inserts the link to their profile!). It then inserts a rogue space before the dot. It is hopeless trying to edit this abomination - you must type the address in full from scratch then set it manually as an email link. What we want/need is the correct format with the "mailto:" inserted eg.

    forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com

One slight bit of praise for the new editor is that if you do manage to correctly insert an email address, and you subsequently edit your post, you no longer lose the correctly formatted email address as you did with the old editor.

On Competitions Time, nearly all the posters of regular email entry comps have yet to master a correctly formatted email address.

I had a similar problem @One-Eye where an extra @ and a space was coming up before the final letter of a username. A poster said they'd had the problem with the old system but I haven't had it before. I'm doing this on my desktop so it seems it only happens on my android phone.

Also, I've read the posts which suggest that our issues are simply because 'no one likes change' but while that might account for some but I believe that most people are posting about genuine issues which are making it more difficult for them to use the site.

Does anyone know where to find the thread that @MSE_Stephen (note that this isn't in bold and no drop down menu appeared) said he was setting up for specific issues as this one was getting too big. I thought I'd bookmarked it but now I can't find it.

    It's not a thread, it's a sub-forum. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/rich-editor-feedback

Edit: Oh look - I have another issue to report!

Is it me or has the line spacing gone all weird too? You could either do 1 line space or 2 line spaces on the previous one, but this time you can only have 2 line spaces and it makes posts look rather odd, specially on the Flylady Thread.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    If you press Shift-Enter…
…you can insert a single line break, whereas Enter…

…starts a new paragraph, with a mandatory bottom margin.

Thank you for that, but how to do I do it with a copied text that has all jumbled up…

Level Two...Clean baths, toilets, don't forget under the rim! and sinksClear any clutter from deskDust PC and desk, if you still use these, and wipe off those cup rings!!Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switchesLevel Three...Wash your bathroom mats, nets, clean blind/curtains etcWipe down tiles in bathroom.. defragment your pc while doing this.Empty and clean out all the upstairs bins! (the proper bins not the rooms that look like bins!)Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if requiredClear a mega hotspot!.. shred it.. and fling it..or just burn it!Extras..

    It then becomes this…
