@ Sea_Shell - I found, with the envelope border, the difficult bit was getting the first row right where you crochet into the blanket sides. Getting each side edge level and even was a pain and took lots of concentration and frogging! In the end i used safety pins to mark each 10 rows on each side then carefully did the crochet along the side - the top and bottom was easy compared to the sides!

Just wondering... could we use a small ball of our edge colour and start the slip stitch, (and border stitches) on each side as we crochet up the main pattern?

Could that work?

@Sea_Shell - Do you do border like this? Not sure if your idea would work but I like this one :) (still need to mark the sides for me )

The tutorial I watched said to slip stitch all the way around, including round the "posts" of the edge stitches/row. You then work your border stitches into those slip-stitches, right side and back.

It'll have to wait though, as I already have other projects on the go, and more yarn arriving today!!! 😲

In addition to new "best" yarn, a kindly neighbour has given me yet more unwanted random yarn, which has filled two crates. I have every colour of the spectrum covered 🌈

ahhh - I did not know that method :) Hoe does that affect ‘stretch’ of the side you are slip stitching in?

I too have got another two projects coming (with the yarn) and mosaic patterns - have christmas presents to do (my excuse) and they were on sale so could not refuse!

lol re random yarn - several scraps bags or tubs to use it up? Could then fill with goodies (make bags to size needed) and give as xmas presents :)

Just finished a cardigan for DH.

I would have lost yarn chicken had I not bought a 6th ball. 😇

I only needed it for the second sleeve cuff.

Just the buttons to sew on. (Sorry, no pic 😉)

However, this is the "basket" that I made with the thick t-shirt yarn, which was like crocheting with a pair of tights (silky and stretchy) 🤣. No pattern, just winging it.

I'm going to use it as a working yarn basket, to stop my balls running away across the room. 100g ball for scale.

I had a busy June as DDad was over so any free time was spent ferrying him around. I took him back to Cyprus and stayed for a week. I’ve managed this week to change the post box topper - this time it’s bees 🐝

I’m off to Yorkshire with DSis tomorrow as we are walking The Herriot Way, a circular 52 mile walk taking in moors and dales. We will camp so are carrying all our kit. We are staying in Hawes tomorrow night and last time I was there there was yarn bombed posts so I’m hoping there might be again 🤞🏻
