Tricky finding the front loops, as they seem to get a bit buried.

Having been talking about scrap yarn and tail ends (eg from the above trial, once i've frogged it), i've been inspired by a post I saw on FB, whereby someone has kept and knotted together all their scraps, of about 3in or more, and then made an "ugly" blanket from them.
Firstly, one has to have done a shed load of projects to have that much scrap yarn, but I am now inspired to see if I can do something similar. I'm 54 now…a blanket in my lifetime!!?
How short is 'scrap' yarn though? I have a few bits that make tiny bobbins of yarn, that I have saved (a few metres long), thinking they'll come in useful. I can see bits of black would be useful, for eyes etc. but the rest, in random colours? Are they worth keeping separate.

say they are from a jumper or blanket you still use, there's a chance you'll need a bit to darn or fix something. Probably all others could be easily used up without missing them?

Yes, I've kept some yarn back for repairs on the couple of wearables I've made (in case they fall apart in the wash 😉), and I always have stock of some generic neutral yarn for blanket repairs, if needed.
Hmmm, do I offer a repair service for those items gifted 😎
A test of how well I've woven in and secured the ends I suppose 😇

My mum adds a little ball of rolled up yarn with anything she gifts. Their responsibility now and she can do what she likes with the leftovers 😆

ignore mess lol - the bag/container (basically holds my wip by side of settee) was made from leftover scraps. Used 5 strands together and large crochet hook and just made round base as big as I wanted then stopped increasing as I did the rounds and that made the sides. Handles I missed crocheting 5 stitches and did 5 chain instead (from memory but do what you fancy) and crocheted the chain on the next round. Smallest scraps were my arm span (hand to hand) and knots were easily hidden in the crochet. Small bits of yarn I use up in stuffing for amugurumi mixed with toy stuffing.

Seashell, i would think so, hopefully anything small could be repaired by that, anything bigger and it would probably require some repairing with the loose ends and maybe even ripping back so again they would have more loose ends
