Very true and I’ve read that the army keep tampons in their emergency kits for that exact reason, to plug bleeding.weenancyinAmerica said:@MadamMim2013 - she may have had just the right idea. Prepping sites recomend keeping sanitary pads available to stop bleeding.

Hi
This morning we had a few flakes of snow but not enough to settle and have had a little bit of rain since.
Walked into town and got the 5 cards I needed, wrote and posted 2 whilst in town. Had a hunt round M&5 and TK Maxx to try and find something for DH birthday. He really doesn't want for much these days. The two big dream things over the years he said he wanted, I managed to get for him in past years and anything he wants he just gets. When asked all he wants is Amazon vouchers so I have got one of those with a coffee cake which is hos favourite but it feels like a cop out. Went to look at the sample of alternative carpet and I'm not 100% with it but I dont want to wait 4/5 weeks to get the one I really wanted so that should be here and laid Monday. Fingers crossed it comes in. Managed to cover my target of 8000 steps on my little run around town.
Since back I have snaffled a cokie with my coffee and update the spends on the computer. Of course it was out, its always out and then when I went through every transaction I didnt find any errors and it was then miraculously right.
I need to measure up the window frame and fireplace again in the new room and I think I can get the mirror and curtain pole quite cheaply from Argo5 so need to order for click and collect.
Spoken to my dad and we are going to join him for lunch tomorrow as it is DH birthday and otherwise Dad would be on his own. Must remember to take the card for him to write for his GGD for next week (he wouldnt remember otherwise).
I am now off to get change into scruffs and sand and paint and think about what to have for tea while I do it.Mortgage, paid off!5 -
Basics done today, 2 loads of washing done, dried and packed away.
Made leek and potato & mulligatawny soup.
Hubster is poorly so I’ve put him on sofa rest with plenty of fluids and snoozes!
Currently watching old episodes of restoration man.. Do like George, he seems so genuine with his enthusiasm ☺️"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

Love that, HB. Well done on starting the CoD - a marathon, not a sprint, from the sounds of it. You put me on to Dana K Knight a couple (few?) of years ago, and I always remember 2 things: put things where you will look for them and not where you think they ought to go; decide your space for something and keep the amount that fits in the space and no more. Highly paraphrased, but I know what I mean! Not that I necessarily do it, hence the overflowing pasta stores. Finally the end is in sight - this round of decorating that is. Skirting and doorframes done, just the last coat on one door to be done tomorrow. Flying has taken such a back seat that it is actually in the car boot right now - I will restart next week. I have kept up with the laundry so that’s a bonus. And I did remember to join Round and Iona for coffee this morning.
Just need to make our tea later, DD is out at work so just the 2 of us, then that’s the day sorted.6 -
My day has been thus:
1. Family exercise class.
2. Dog walk
3. Make revision materials for DS1 for 3 subjects.
4. Draft email for SENCO for DS1 following on from Fridays meeting.
5. Lots of research.
6. Put a wash on.
7. Do some homework with DS1.
8. Put 3 lots of laundry away.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25

Do the easy bits first;2. Where is the first place I would look if I wanted this thing;3. That thing about when the space where the thing belongs is full - get rid of some of the stuff. This last one is the one I struggle with most (and I'm with you about the pasta but also, personally, a lot of other categories) but it's great guidance for knowing that I've got too much of something if I need an overflow place. Like having to put pasta in the wardrobe - it belongs in the kitchen, where I also have some. I have overflow stashes of lots of things. All over the house. Everywhere. ....Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.7

I'm still here lurking. Thank you for the welcome.
I'm not sure how this works? Do I start with level one for each day and work my way up the levels?
Thank youIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

We had to hoover throughout as neither the cat nor the toddler grandchild completely grasped the concept of "wipe your feet" yesterday. How much mess can 4 paws and 2 little feet bring into the house?
the hob is sparkly clean
finished up a bottle of shampoo and of conditioner which has made the bathroom cabinet a bit less cluttered.6 -
Congratulations to HB, round and Fayolle on your achievements today - sometimes we just need to acknowledge that there is a lot of clutter, then start clearing a bit at a time. That's what I've done this week with the photo sorting and I've gained momentum and confidence in my own judgement as the work has progressed.
I emailed my DC to ask if they were comfortable with me throwing away all the colour negatives of photos from their lifetime, and all of them said yes, so three shoeboxfuls have been flung. I'm keeping the b/w ones for now, until I've checked them all through, but they all fit in one shoebox with room to spare. I've taken a quick look through the photos of my children, grandchildren and godchildren that I began sorting some months back; some of which are already roughly divided into year groups, and there are five boxes of these to deal with next - less daunting than it sounds! They will be culled again before I make my final selection for the keepsake albums and offer the rest to my DC. I've also picked out a few duplicate pictures to send to friends, but there may be more to add so I won't post them yet. The landing cupboard is already looking a lot tidier and the spare bed could be brought back into commission tomorrow if needed
I did a total of WMx3, part dried it all in the TD, then hung on the radiators and airer in the bathroom - some is already fully dry and has been FUPA. I cooked tea, DH loaded the DW, and Rosie helped by decluttering some cooked chicken skin.
It's been a very productive and satisfying day. I should try to get snowed in (or at least act as if I am) more often!
