Wish I could have been there @beanielou, I'd have been in my element. Glad to hear you got out for a bit. 👍
Bargain crispy kale @bubbs. 😋

Hope life settles down a bit now that the car is back and the new door is on @Coxy11
@beanielou, I love haggis (especially the traditional one - where they pipe it in and do the sword swinging and rhyme) it’s got a bit of a peppery kick.
Another busy one here. Tonight’s tea is Spanish tortilla/omelette with the left over potatoes from last night and some salad (a rainbow of stuff not just pre-bagged iceberg 😳
Cheese/ crackers later if we want them and then I’m off to bed to finish my book. It’s really good. Never lie by Frieda McFadden - would defo recommend if you like a fast paced thriller.

Oh all you that haven't had haggis - you are missing out.
If you can eat liver or black pudding, haggis is a piece of cake - near enough - its oats, flavoured with finely diced offal and blood. Looks like mince
Im so jealous of all you dancers. I so really want to join a class , I will keep looking
Kale is the food of the devil - dont matter how bloody cheap it is , Im not eating it
@coxy11 got to love a new front door. Make a huge difference to light and looks
@Joedenise - dress making is a wonderful skill to have, I can turn a hem and that's it. Luckily we have an abundance of people here with sewing skills who do alterations. I can just about crochet , but cant read a pattern so need to be shown a pattern . Luckily there's so many videos now online
So, Im going to go to weigh in as ten tonne Tessie this week.I was lucky I didnt gain over Christmas , STS over New Year, lost the week after, and have struggled since. Two problems - ingrained habits of not being able to refuse a bargain, and now its just so flipping cold , the munchies are with me
However looking back in my books, its familiar territory this time of year
Yesterday I had a turkey burger and salad, but a wee handful of pre cut fries. Then when I went up and down with the dog, a biscuit and come the end I went sod it - marmite sandwich
Today I was really good for lunch, on plan cottage cheese, salad, pickles and a protein thin. One coffee But now Im ravanous and dont fancy the dibber - beef casserole, cabbage and spuds its the spuds. I dont like them and Im too tired this time of night to be flaffing making myself something , so I will go without and then around 9 or 10 - reach for the stuff I know I shouldn't be eating
I really hate January.0 -
Annoying about the gain @maman ☹️
Glad you enjoyed the Burns Night @beanielou that haggis looks very chef-y! I’ve only ever had it thrown on a plate at a Masonic do.
Yes January is grim @Longwalker and I can well understand you reaching for the naughty stuff especially given the grim weather you’ve been having ☹️Hope you get on okay at WI @bubbs x
Your dressmaking skills amaze me @joedenise - I made a padded laptop sleeve and that took me an afternoon!!
Car is now back with us. Is it ridiculous to say we were relieved to part with ONLY £803! That included an oil service too. Garage owner was lovely and gave us some top tips for when we come to sell and replace it.

@coxy11, the amount of times I say ONLY. its ridiculous
Mum waited only an hour for an ambulance, only waited in the ambulance outside before she got a trolly in the corridor Only stayed 8 hours before getting her minor op preformed in the corridor . Only a 3 week wait to get a GP appointment Only cost 3x what it did 5 years ago … so many only right now
Its scary tbh
My car is diesel, only now I only work 3 miles away. Im killing my battery - it's on charge as we speak. But then what do I do? Keep killing batteries cos there is sod all wrong with the car or trade it in for a petrol and ONLY lose a vast amount of money and have to down grade - buying older
Im a bit up and down today
We have been saving pound coins for 2 years, It was our Australia money . Anyway we filled the bottle this week and bagged it up. 2.5k - our flights OR a cruise. I was planning on putting into a saving account but dh decided we would split it and pay it in to our own accounts.
The reality is, mum is getting frailer and the truth is we would be feared to leave the UK because whilst we know we can get away with three nights, we both know we cant leave her a week
She's frail but as strong as an ox
I fear Im going to be too old myself by time Im free
Still we have started the bottle again , maybe another 2 years…..
Sorry for this0 -
Oh @Longwalker - sounds like a lot going on and disappointing for you to have the money to travel but circumstances aren’t great. Must be very challenging xx
I have a free day as boss hasn’t had time to look at tasks for me to take off her hands. No matter, I’m sure I can find some errands to run. Sold something on V!nted last night and she wants it for Tuesday so that needs dropping off this morning. The things I do for a £3 charity donation!
Food today:
B - hard-boiled eggs mashed on toasted protein bagel thin, satsuma - P, HEB, S
L - Co-op Moroccan cous cous*, apple - ??, S
D - beige party food…
HEA - milk
Syns - ?
*I bought this YS on Wednesday and forgot about it so it’s needs eating. Is anyone able to check the syns please? Beige party food this evening at a party in London. It’s fancy dress and we’re getting a train - should be fun!

Morning all, it's raining yet again and according to the forecast we'll have rain every day for the next week (and probably beyond!). I hate this grey, wet weather.
That's a good amount of £1 coins to save over 2 years @Longwalker but shame that you aren't able to use it the way you'd planned but at least it means you've got a bit of money in your account to use how you please.
It's surprising I can actually sew as when I was at school my needlework teacher said I'd never be able to make anything wearable - I think it was that which spurred me on to make sure I could! In fact where I went to school we used to have a fashion show at the end of each year and when I was 14 I actually made and wore a dress in it! I remember it to this day - it was pale pink with a dropped waist and several inches above the knee (well it was the 60s!). I'd actually been up until 2am sewing the bloody hem by hand so you can imagine how tired I was and I had my mum keep saying go to bed and get up early to finish it but no way was I doing that - I really wanted to make sure I was in that show!
Glad you go the car sorted @Coxy11 and it wasn't too expensive (expensive enough but could have been worse!). The new door sounds great especially with giving you so much extra light.
It was WI this morning and it was just under lb loss (0.9lb!) so being good for 3 weeks has finally caught up. Only another 2.4lb to go to get back to top end of target range. Can I do it before my holiday in about 5 weeks time? I'm going to give it a bloody good go - after all it's only half lb a week!
Today's plan:
B - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
D - lamb curry, rice, mango chutney, SW naan - P; S; F; 3; HE
HE1 - milk
HE2 - bread
HE3 - naan
Swips - 4.5; couple of 0% G&T 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Well done on the loss @joedenise I'm sure you'll get back to target before your holiday. Did make me cross about your teacher - talk about wreck someone's confidence. I'd like to think those teaching nowadays focus on what pupils CAN achieve not what they can't!
I've just been to drop a V!nted parcel and a quick whizz to HB in Faversham. In and out in about 20 minutes as it was lovely and quiet. I did walk up and down most aisles though as had the time. Got some washing pods, a couple of lovely giftbags for some upcoming birthdays 69p/99p respectively and some tinned sardines in tomato sauce. Not a brand I'd heard of so hoping they are free - BTM? Also got more cold and flu meds and throat lozenges for DH who is coming out the other side of his cold, bless him.

@coxy11, its such a dissapointment . Well I say that, because deep down I knew it was never going to be happening, but whilst we were putting those pounds in that bottle, it let me hold on the the "Maybe "
We have a week in Harrogate in the summer , if anything happens we can jump on the first flight back , it's only an hour away. I know I will enjoy it - The Great North Show , something we are both interested in seeing, but to go and visit family in Australia or just a wee cruise to the Fjords , seems like we are going to be in our 70's time we can get
Still at least its the carrot to ensure we keep ourselves as fit and healthy as possible so that we will get there
Got to have a dream :)
I was just feeling sad last night
The cous cous is 4 swips
@joedenise well done on the loss - you have got this now. As you say it's just half a pound a week to get back to target before your holiday. I find it easier to stay focussed if I have a deadline. You must be the generation before me. needlework was being phased out time I went to secondary school I got to make a gym bag and that was it
Dreading weigh in this week. Ive been all over the show with my eating this week. Meals have been on plan but Ive skipped a few and then felt perfectly justified in snaffling biscuits. The weather is so bad again, I got finished work and added another coat, hat, gloves and scarf and walked the dog. The wind is coming from the east and the chill factor is making it feel -7. Now sat in front of the fire drinking coffee , plucking up the enthusiasm to head to Tesco. Ill probably skip lunch today cos time I get back from town, do the few bits needing doing here, walk the dog again, it will be time to start on the dinner which tonight is bubble and squeak , the left over chicken and eggs - so all free/speed0 -
Afternoon all 😁
Dunno why i am smiling as i was absolutely fuming earlier😡 , will come to that in a bit!
Denise, well done on your loss 👏
I went group this morning and lost 0.5 so that's what i put on last week. There was a massive loss in group this week 89lb altogether!!
I could not stop to the end of group as had a doctors appointment, anyway we rock up, appointment was at 11.30, now to book the appointment you have to do it online, they then assess and give you face to face or telephone, i had a face to face at 11.30, they send you a link to confirm it, you reply yes.
We get there at 11.15 book in, go take a seat bubbs, so i did, 10 mins later receptionist comes up to me and said there has been a mistake , your appointment should have read 4th Feb!! I said how can it be? they sent me a link, i confirmed it, YOU have just booked me in !!
I am sorry she said but i have an appointment i can give you Monday? I said that's not really on, i very rarely come to the doctors and now this! i have re arranged my day to come today surely they can squeeze me in? No she says 😡 I said well i don't think this is very fair , she said you could always go to the pharmacy! I said don't you think i would have done if i knew what the matter was?
I was raging!! So appointment now Monday, but if i had rocked up to the desk for an appointment Monday they would have said no you have to do it online!
