I just said to dh about topping with sliced potatoes , so that's what i am going to do 😁
Who needs Jamie Oliver when there's you around! 🤣

That's a huge increase in your electric bill. Has your consumption gone up as well perhaps? I was wondering whether DH being 'retired' might have made a difference. 🤔

Shame about the restaurant @joedenise. I'm always reluctant to recommend anywhere as they're only as good as your last visit. Chefs change, they cut corners to save money etc. ☹️

Maman, he had finished on this quarter last year too, we got the bill out from last year, this quarter and was about 100 units more, but it has been cold and we have had the fire on as well, which we did last year. But honestly, he goes how f**** much 🤣 and it should not be double to last year but can't work it out , to be double would need to be almost 39p a unit.

Here is my result for tea, it was nice and using the soup is such low syns, but when i took it out to put the potato on top it was not thick, so i added about 3/4 tbsp cornflour , 1.5 syns so worked out 3 syns for the whole thing.

Cabbage, carrots and potato still from Christmas, broc and cauli i got from company shop the week between xmas and new year for 20p , so cheap dinner again

I'm still using the Christmas veg too @bubbs. Just potatoes tonight but have got loads prepped in the freezer too.

Is cornflour 2 syns a tbsp? I've always counted 1.🤔

That’s crazy about your electricity @bubbs. I too wondered if it was due to DH being retired but then again, he’s with you at the unit so not like he’s sunning himself at home! Can you check the meter reading is correct? Our water board claimed we were using 100,000 units more (ie filling an Olympic sized swimming pool) when DH looked at the meter they’d transposed the first two numbers 🙄

Dinner at the pub - I chose salmon on crushed new potatoes, ratatouille and king prawns. I had a rum n coke and a small glass of white wine. Had a jasmine tea instead of pudding. Mainly alcohol syns but no others today.

Sorry your meal was disappointing @joedenise you should try our local!!

Coxy yes figures correct, it;s just weird, i will speak to some neighbours and see if theirs have more or less doubled, we all have the same supplier and price.

    Tea sounds lovely Coxy

Morning all - rain here ☹️ I was going to the allotment but after getting soaked on Tuesday I’ll give it a miss today. I have some errands to run in town. DH is supposed to be sanding a window frame but he’s only just got up. Was in a food coma from our meal oops.

    Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, AF bacon medallions, poached egg, satsuma - HEB, P, S
L - brown rice bowl - brown rice, feta, pickles gherkins/red cabbage/oink onions, edamame beans, apple - free, HEA, S
    D - burger in a bowl - 1
    HEA - milk
    Syns - skinny bar 3.5 plus 1 = 4.5 total

I’m thinking of switching to lacto-free skimmed milk. Does anyone know if it’s still an HEA please? TIA xx

I'm sure there will be non dairy milks as HEAs @Coxy11 as the plan wouldn't suit vegans otherwise but someone with access to the app will confirm and be able to give you the quantities.

I gave my walking group a miss today as, like you, I didn't want to get soaked. It's raining here but not as heavy (yet😉) as forecast.

You made good choices at the pub last night. Well done.👍🏼

Thanks for correcting the swips in cornflour for me @bubbs , no idea why I thought it was 1. Hope you can get to the bottom of why your electricity has gone up so much. Obviously, there's a standing charge as well as the unit cost but that shouldn't account for the bill doubling.

As I'm busy tomorrow, I went to the surgery for WI today. The good news is I've lost 2.5 lbs since last Friday!!🎉 Actually it's 2.8 lbs but I'll stick with a round figure. As you can imagine, I'm delighted with that and motivated to do my best this coming week although it won't be so straightforward because of social things coming up.

    Today's plan-
    B- HEB porridge, berries (S), banana (F), HEA1 milk
    L- egg (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
    D- Spaghetti Bolognese (P,F,S), HEA2 Parmesan
    Swips-0

Afternoon all, wet weather here too but not as bad as we were expecting.  It's also getting windier.

Don't blame you giving the allotment a miss @Coxy11 and your walking group @maman a miss.  I had to pop into town for a few bits but it was literally a case of getting out of the car, into the SM, do shopping and back to car so didn't get too wet as parked close to the store!

    Today's plan:

    B - fried egg sandwich - HEB; P; 1.5
    L - LO fish pasta bake topped with cheese before reheating - HEA2; P; S; F
    D - cowboy hotpot - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Swips:  LF spread 1.5

It's WI for me tomorrow but don't feel as though I've lost anything this week even though I've been on plan but we shall see!

    Afternoon all .

Absolutely tipping it down here, in fact lashing it down! Hope it does one for tomorrow need to get stuff for orders, not been out the door today, been writing orders .

No idea about bill i am as confused as everyone, we are thinking of getting a gas stove kettle as they use a lot of electric , all these little bits add up. My Mum has NEVER had an electric kettle or toaster!

Well done Maman , brilliant loss!

Coxy i will put lacto free up for you. I have just screen shot them on my phone, really miss laptop searching for items, but apparently this is progress just the app!
