2026 - consolidation and calm

Still melting today, but it's not quite as bad as the last couple of days. Last night was bad, it's meant to be a bit cooler tonight. The house was already over 27 this morning even with everything open, so I've left it all open as there's a breeze today. There was loads of lightning last night, but I didn't hear any thunder and we didn't have any rain.

Both kids are in school today. We've taken in 3 bottles with little miss for the tombola for the fete. It's stuff that we won previously but don't drink.

I went in town earlier to grab a couple of summer tops and a pair of shorts. I didn't want to spend the money, but thought they'd see me through the summer even as I continue to lose weight. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be able to fit into more in standard sizes so I can utilise the charity shops better.

It seems like most of the supermarkets have been cleaned out! Loads of the fridges and freezers have broken down and there's hardly anything available. Even the fruit and veg shelves are empty. The poor staff though, you could hear people having a right go. It's hardly their fault!

1/2lb off today. I'm a bit disappointed with that, but it's better than nothing!

DH is out on his motorbike, I'm just chilling today. It's gradually cooling down. I didn't sleep well again last night so came down about 3am. There was a nice breeze coming through the window then! It's warming up again though but I think we're 'only' due to be around 25 today.

Little miss and I went to food warehouse, then came home and made chocolate dipped strawberries as she's been wanting to all week. I was going to do it for taster day, but that was cancelled, so we can eat them ourselves.

I bought myself a white top yesterday. I don't buy white unless it's part of a pattern because I am a spiller and a dirt magnet, and I always manage to stain them. At lunchtime I decided to tuck a tea towel into my top so that I wouldn't drop anything on it. I still seem to have managed to get some lasagne sauce on my shoulder! 🤦‍♀️ I checked the teatowel thinking I'd probably dropped something and not noticed, but no, that is perfectly clean. I can't win 🤷‍♀️ I am very envious of people who seem to be able to wear white without issues!

My hayfever is really bad today, probably worst it's been this year. I'm so glad it's cooler though.

Little jwil is now a published author. The book with his poem in it arrived today 😍

A small amount of cashback arrived in my account today so I shall pad that tomorrow.

Also a non-white wearer as I can guarantee either dinner medals or random stains will appear 😂 definitely not an issue with anything else I wear 🤷

i always envy the people I see in white trousers, specially going on holiday……I wouldnt even make it to take off before a mark had appeared from somewhere!,

Mind you I also envy those who manage to take a tiny bag on board as well, whereas I always end up looking like a bag lady
