We now have smart meters! I'm going to be a data nerd for the next few days. I've also downloaded the app and signed up for the loyalty scheme so we can take advantage of the free energy and other discounts.
Whilst they were here I did a bit of sorting.
Little jwil has some antibiotics for his feet and can be referred to hospital if he needs to be after the infection has been cleared up. I don't think he'll be too keen on that given the amount of time we've spent there recently, but we'll see how it goes.
I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in as I've still been out of sorts this week. I'm still chesty and coughing which is annoying, and I've realised if I try to be frugal with the heating when it's cold, then I just eat and eat and eat! I definitely eat less when it's warmer. Unfortunately there's still been some Christmas stuff around which means I have been decluttering that. It's due to be milder next week thankfully, and the christmas food is pretty much gone now!
I hope everyone got through the storm relatively pain free. It was just wet and windy here, there are some trees down locally but nothing major. Our loft hatch blew/fell open in the middle of the night, making me jump out of my skin. No one else in the house heard it, despite it banging onto little miss's bedroom door! I had to use a long handled paint roller to shut it again as I can't reach

You've done brilliantly at weight loss overall so if you have a gain occasionally no big harm done.
Anyway you're meant to starve a fever, feed a cold. Better a few pounds on than feeling horribly ill for ageshttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

I find my smart meter very handy since it was installed a couple of years ago. The actual meters for the block in my flat are in the communal hallway inside a cupboard. Mine is right at the bottom and I'm so glad I don't have to grovel on my hands and knees with a torch anymore trying to read it!I hope little jwil's toes improve and he doesn't have to go back to the hospital. 🤞Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Yes, I'd like this cough gone!

Nice PAD today as my regular saver matured, so I sent the interest to the car fund
The balance - I've left some in the savings account, moved some to our joint savings (both with NW, so trying to make sure we've both got enough for the bonus should they do it again this year), and the rest I've just sent to other savings. I need to set up a new one. I only put in £50 a month, but it's a nice lump sum after a year.
DH had to take his car back to the garage twice this week due to various warning lights. To give them credit, they've dealt with everything very promptly. He's now got a new battery and alternator at no cost to us. It had a new cam belt and water pump before we got it, plus a couple of tyres so that's a few big things we don't need to worry about.
I've requested some leave at work - half term, but also a week at the end of this month to use up my leave (my leave year ends this month). So that will be a nice treat if it's approved ok. It shouldn't be an issue.
I did put on 1.5lb this morning, but that was probably better than I expected! We went to food warehouse to stock up on some bits. I used the vouchers I'd been given at SW, and what would have been over £80 came to £56 including multibuy discounts. There was also cashback via my bank account, so I should get another 7% back at some point! I wasn't sure I had enough room in the freezer, but I managed it without any effort so they were obviously looking fuller than they were.
I made a SW quiche this morning, so had some of that for lunch with salad. The remainders will do another day. I'm feeling a bit more on it today.
I updated the financial and spending spreadsheets. I'm doing well with not frittering so far this month. I wanted to just hibernate this month really and the cough is helping with not wanting to do much so it's all good. I'm working through my Christmas books
DH took our Christmas light to the repair cafe, along with a t-shirt he wanted fixing. Both have been done, so our light lives to work another year. All at no cost to us, other than a donation
