Yesterday's pad was topped up by a bit of cash back

I've been doing really well with not spending this month, to the extent that it's becoming a problem
I haven't even spent my Christmas money apart from a handful of kindle books for 99p
I've had quite a few comments about my clothes getting too big, so I spent all afternoon browsing websites and vinted to try and find some new ones. I don't like anything! I added a load of items to my favourites on V, but then when I went back to try and get something, I just didn't like any of them! I don't know what size I am, or how different brands fit. I don't want to waste money for things that I (hopefully) won't be wearing too long! I think I'll have to go through my tops and try them all on, and get rid of the very tent like ones, and see if I've got enough left for now. I was hoping that I could last til spring. I'm fine for trousers, as they will still be ok, it's just tops. I refuse to buy any jumpers/cardigans til autumn, so the ones I've got will be fine for the next couple of months.
I lost 1/2lb today which is fine, considering there's been a fair amount of comfort eating this week. Things have been tough with both kids. Hopefully next week will be better! I had some lovely support and suggestions from group this morning, which has helped me a lot.
I'm still coughing but not as much and the chesty feeling has gone, so hopefully this cold/virus/infection is finally on the way out!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
I'd be looking in charity shops rather than online as you can usually try things on; you won't necessarily find much which you like but at least you can see what it actually looks and feels like.2

Great news that you need smaller clothes but yes it's blimmin annoying actually having to buy any, especially as every brand just seems to make up sizes.
Good idea to have a proper sort-out of what you already have first. Have a maybe pile too, as e.g. jumpers you think don't fit because you're used to thinking of them in a certain way, might actually turn into lovely oversized pieces- cosy slouchy drapey is very in this winter!
Though obvs if you're not feeling something anymore, get it on v!nted 🥂https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

Stuff my size doesn't really come up in charity shops. I need to drop another size or two (or more!) before I'm likely to find something. It doesn't come up in 'normal' shops either, so I need to buy online for now.joedenise said:I'd be looking in charity shops rather than online as you can usually try things on; you won't necessarily find much which you like but at least you can see what it actually looks and feels like.
I've only got a couple of cardis and a jumper, and they will see me through the winter. It's normal tops I need, but I can probably manage if I sort through. If oversized is in then I'm very trendyPennysIntoPounds said:Great news that you need smaller clothes but yes it's blimmin annoying actually having to buy any, especially as every brand just seems to make up sizes.

but I don't really want that any more, I hate acres of fabric and all the floofy flouncy stuff that seems to be in at the moment!
I always hate clothes shopping, so tend to wear my stuff to death until it falls apart, so I don't sell clothes normally. I probably do have some sellable stuff now, so will have to brave it!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". We won £30 on the lottery last night, so when that arrives I'll pad it to the mortgage as that is a joint win. A few more zeros would have been nice, but I'll take that!
We're off out to an event today so that will make a change. DH's paying so it doesn't break my no frivolous spending
I've sorted out a couple of birthday cards and will get them posted/delivered. DH sold another item so that's packed and posted.
I've peeled the potatoes for cottage pie later."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
