2026 - consolidation and calm

We've had a lovely day out today 😊 We went to one of my favourite places, and then also stopped at a new to us NT place which was lovely. We were by the coast too which is always lovely.
I wandered into an art gallery in the town and was delighted to see a picture that I have coveted for years. We saw it in a gallery here which then shut down so we never bought it. I've tried looking for it now and again online, but no luck. I was considering paying the £149 for it, but then found a huge 'seconds' print of it for just £10. So I got that and a couple of other pictures too for £25. It has made my day! I just need to find a nice frame for them now.

Just catching up with you and also can’t believe you’ve had the car a year, that’s flown by! I’m also a lightweight with drinks these days, two is my limit and I have to drink lots of water at the same time or I’ll suffer the next day 🥴 What’s with these £1 lottery wins, we won £1 last week too. I thought the lowest win was £5?
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪1 -

I'm only in work today and tomorrow, can't wait for my few days!
I got stroppy with DH yesterday so took myself out for the day. I had a lovely time, though it got a bit spendy, as I was in and out of cafes and did a bit of shopping. Nothing too frivolous and all needed, but I probably wouldn't have bought it 'now' if I hadn't have been out. It was very nice not having to answer to anyone and making my own timetable. I got loads of exercise too as I didn't have my car so was on foot.
Today has been busy and I finally have my car back. The garage did drop it back as promised, so that made life easier. They were happy to drop the keys and paperwork through the door which meant I could go to a meeting at school too. Lots of walking again today!
I am very relieved to have my car back though, and the bill was £289 which isn't bad for an MOT and 2 tyres. I was anticipating around £300 so I'll take that as an £11 win 😆
I need to put everything back in my car, and help little miss pack her bag tonight so I have time to do an emergency dash to a shop if I need to.

Quality time with oneself is tragically underrated.
Sounds like the spends were necessary for helping with continuation of partnership, and it all being needed is very impressive 👏
