Thanks @skint_spice, @Merlin's_Beard, @Humdinger1, @beanielou 😊
@Brie - it would never have occurred to me to look in Polish shops (I always associate them with small bony fish, fierce pickles and saukraut - none of which I’d like! 😉 I’m hoping to make my own soups from scratch as I think they will be more filling than cuppa soups 😊)
@Baileys_Babe, I’m not a good example to follow on growing! 😉 But happy to give any encouragement requested 😊
I made it to dancemums last night but it was so badly organised. I got to the school site, but it was huge and I would never have found the correct place without another dancemum showing me where to go … That meant I was outside in the freezing cold for c. 20 minutes, which wasn’t a great start. It was taken by a very slender, flexible, strong, coordinated 20 year old … none of which is me any more! 😂 It was okay, but she went way too fast, with too complex routines (it’s a brand new class and everyone was struggling) so I could only step the routines through rather than actually dance them at all, iyswim. I will continue with the term, seeing as I have paid for it, but I’m not sure if I will continue beyond that …
Got to 16K steps across the day as a result. Done 8K steps already today 😊Probably the best thing that came from it was that I had a woman next to me show me a stretch / unlocking technique for my lower back as she said my hips were at different heights. She said that was the cause of my lower back pain/ restriction and it certainly feels better today! Not what I was expecting 😊Still doing the glucose hacks and got out for a walk yesterday and today 😊 No stretching done so far this working week, so really aiming to do some this evening … 🤞 Did get out for a walk at lunchtime yesterday and today - the latter with a colleague who saw me heading out and commented - I invited her to join me and she did 😊
Had a 26 minute phone consult with a GP today about my blood test results. Nothing of any note … everything is where it needs to be, apart from my blood lipids which are slightly elevated but not yet close to where they would want me to be on statins. Overall, I think my conclusion is carry on with my approach and see how it goes … 😊
Pretty positive day in work today. Ended with a first aider team meeting to review a new FA RA which was really productive and came up with some sensible, positive actions 😊

It was a bit - but it got me out of the house and doing SOMETHING so I suppose that is a winbeanielou said:Disappointing about the dance mums.
I'm now looking at a folk dance session that happens on Friday evenings locally. That might be more fun? 🤔 But it's 2 hours long and doesn't finish until 10pm - not sure I would last that long! 🤣
Did my little free weights and chair squats this morning and have been out for a walk but, I think other than a bit of stretching this evening, that will be it for today. I keep waking at 5.30am, which is a little too early and my old wake up time at my crazy job, so I'm wondering if my body is just a bit over stimulated atm.

Ah what a shame about the dance mums although you never know by the end of term it may have improved, you all know a routine and the dance instructor doesn't feel like she needs to prove herself by going too hard and fast too soon 😂.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500
Weight loss goal 1 - 1/7 lb
Mortgage OP goal 2026 - £128.27/£4500

Sorry to hear about DanceMum - was the instructor new? She may have been a bit nervous I suppose - hopefully it'll improve (and you'll likely get the hang of it a bit more too!) Good on you for trying something new!
Urgh, cameras are the worst. I'm a bit immune now after the full shock of recorded lectures and online classes in covid
but I still don't like it

Honestly I couldn’t tell you anything about the instructor. There was no conversation - it was just straight into it with a full force boom box!! 😳😂😂Cheery_Daff said:Sorry to hear about DanceMum - was the instructor new? It didn’t help that by the time they got to me they had got bored of filming people in the Board room and so had me in the corridor at the top of the atrium of reception - doors banging, people coming and going, kettle going on etc etc …! 😂😂😂😂😂

Aaaaand the week is done! 😊 Phew …
Productive morning and I’m all prepped for a 9am meeting on Tuesday when I go back. I have Monday off because I’m getting my veggie patch attended to 😊
Fairly quiet weekend planned. A few usual chores and trialling a couple of soup recipes for work lunches 😊 We need to remove the huuuuge sage bush from the back of the veggie patch and roll up the cable that runs through the patch, from the garage to the Bedford shed. I’d also like to lift and relocate a few other things that are skulking there if I can before Monday morning 😊
