I can take it or leave it. DP likes it and always asks for it. I like coriander though that doesn't taste like soap to me ๐๐๐ปEmergency Fund goal - ยฃ717.77/1500

I love coriander and rocket & grow both every year.ย Can't beat fresh coriander leaves on a homemade curry and rocket on salad leaves (I'll get my coat.....!)5

Rocket, like pepper, I like in small amounts only. Coriander though is just great. I need to find new coriander plants for this year!Brewerspride said:I love coriander and rocket & grow both every year.ย Can't beat fresh coriander leaves on a homemade curry and rocket on salad leaves (I'll get my coat.....!)Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: ยฃ240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Another one who can take or leave rocket - its best with balsamic vinegar and parmesan shavings, but then you could put those on anything and it would be good so ....ย (and why does rocket always seems to get stuck in my teeth!)"Think of many things, do one"

Rocket seems to arose strong passions โฆ in either direction! ๐Yesterday was a bit disrupted. We were invited out to our ex next door neighboursโ for drinks and nibbles in the late afternoon - I never know what nibbles means?! ๐คทโโ๏ธ We werenโt sure if it would be very minimal and we go go on for dinner afterwards at the local pub or if it would be food-food, iyswim. We had a lovely time catching up with them and meeting some other friends of theirs but it was very carb heavy and not a veg in sight so any carb hacks were a bit lacking! ๐
However, earlier in the day, I did do my yoga and sit ups and then get out in the garden and do some more bed edging / extending and by the end of the day I had managed 9K steps and slept pretty well, so Iโm taking that as a win ๐
Unfortunately, after finishing my first wrist warmer, itโs waaaaay too small, so I will have to try that again ๐

Ooh, I am late to the party but happy new diary!ย
Interesting food tracking, and well done for writing it all down all year! I did this once, in 2014, back in our old house, but I tracked what I'd spent on the garden (including water butts, compost, a couple of planters), and I compared the cost of what I grew with what I would have bought (so dried herbs, for example, rather than fresh local organic ones). I didn't even break even ๐ย
I can't find the figures where I thought I'd posted them but I'll look back soon, it'll be interesting to see as it was our old garden, which was less than 100 square metres - we have a LOT more space now and I'm not sure I've grown much more food!ย6 -
Thanks @Cheery_Daff ๐
I think it may be you who gave me the idea of tracking my produce value? ๐ค
And yes, if I were a business I should be tracking my cost inputs โฆ But I deliberately donโt as
a) I know I spend more on maintaining the patch than I get from it, especially if I were to cost my time in ๐คทโโ๏ธ
b) itโs one of my main hobbies and โpleasuresโ (happy to draw a veil over the screaming ab dabs frustrations and misery the patch causes me at times! ๐๐) and I would be spending the money on the inputs any way ๐
c) if I were really costing it accurately I should probably include the costs of a gym and a therapist on the income side as being inputs *I* DONโT need to maintain *me* because of the garden โฆ ๐

Gardening is so expensive ๐คฃ I don't think I'd track the spends as it would put me off!
I used to have a beautiful garden in one of my old houses, started from scratch by me and was full of flowers, trees and wildlife when I left. I need to find some energy to do my new one as it's well established and I think it could be beautiful with some TLC. Diaries like yours spur me on to get out more in the garden but I just can't face the cold weather ๐ (wuss) so I'll wait till spring to join you ๐คฃ.ยEmergency Fund goal - ยฃ717.77/1500

I was just looking at the lovely blue sky and thinking I really should go and prune my grape vine.ย It is freezing out there though so I think not.ย Completely agree on gardening as therapy and exercise, and on the cost effectiveness (or lack thereof) of growing vegetables. My mortgage free diary:ย +++ Divide by Cucumber Error.ย Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I hope you are giving yourselves a taste bonus for home grown.ย A friend used to get me rhubarb from his son's garden & now his son has only moved house.ย I mean how inconsiderate can you get.ย Now I have to buy it & it is nowhere near as tasty.7
