@Cheery_Daff is the gold standard for huge, ridiculous to-do lists 🥳

Ha, I'm not sure that's a good gold standard to set 😂😂😂

Glad it made you smile … 😉
Thanks @beanielou 😊
Oh I dunno, having optimistic dreams is no bad thing … 😉😊
Dinner was lovely. Had three courses (somehow!). Chickpea and sweetcorn fritter with a salad to start, cauliflower risotto with greens on the side, mint tea and a very pretty dessert special:
All kinds of flavours and textures in there including an edible silver / iridescent glaze over some of it. In some ways ridiculous but also rather fun. 🤩
Mr KK had a baby prawn gratin, slow cooked pork and a huge raspberry and white chocolate confection and a glass of red. The whole lot came to £102 which round here is actually pretty competitive 😊
Firewood delivery (oak) this morning, which Mr KK has booked, which will need putting away, followed by Toscos, followed by something, I know not what yet, from The List 😉

PS - we finally opened the envelope yesterday from MiL with our wedding anniversary gift in there. £200!!! Far too much really, but apparently she gives the same to SiL 🤷♀️ That’s paid for dinner and most of the firewood ❤️As at 18.08.26:

What a lovely gift - and - meal looks/sounds fabulous.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Lovely meal & fantastic gift. 💝

Thanks @Watty1, @beanielou, @debtfreewannabe321 - gonna take us a while to work the calories off ….! 😉😂😊
Wood delivery was excellent - loads of it from a local couple with ground, who had an oak tree fall last year and are selling it as firewood quite cheaply just to make space. Helped Mr KK with stacking and sorting it - quite a workout! 💪😉
YNAB sheet for September set up and all recent spends recorded. I must buy no more books!! 😂😉
Did some cooking:
~ Made a batch of barbecue sauce with store cupboard ingredients, subbing the w0rcestershire sauce with h3nderson’s r3lish and bottled it up as hopefully a tasty option for rendering tofu(🙄) edible 🤞😉
- Made @Cheery_Daff’s high protein flan with the pease pudding base. She is right - it does take a LOT of cooking, primarily to drive off the moisture. But it came out quite well. Might add some more flavour to the base next time, maybe some sage or thyme or some such.Added defrosted frozen peas to it and mixed seeds along with two eggs and drained cottage cheese for the filling. Cooked off mushrooms might be good … 🤔
- Made a batch of pizza bases - had two for dinner tonight, the other two went in the freezer. Tomato topping was HM and Mr KK declared it delicious! (He doesn’t often praise food so I am very chuffed 🤩)
Done knitting (4 rows through the day), finished a novel (satisfying wrap up of interweaved characters’ lives) and did two fascia loosening sessions. Oh, did a couple of surveys too 😊KK

The flan looks interesting. I thought, at first glance, it was a cottage pie. 🧐 Until I read the description.

I think it might be a WW concept?
Had a lovely day here 😊 Woke late and relaxed. Dry but not too hot all day so got Mr KK’s washing dried on the line easily, folded and away and some gardening done.
- Planted a myrtle, under a low dividing wall, in a sunnyish spot. If this one dies this winter, I give up on Myrtles until we move somewhere else.
- Finished mulching the leeks 😊 There’s quite a few volunteer broad beans in this bed as well 🤷♀️😂 Think I will sow some more, but in different location.
Many rows of knitting - each row is getting longer and longer so it’s taking more time to do each second row! 😉 Almost at the end of the first ball. It is a bit wonky but I don’t mind, it’s only for me and I am a perfectionist in so many things in my life, it’s quite nice to let this wonkiness go 😉
Can I share a little win I am really chuffed about?
I am not very technical and my lack of skills and knowledge is compounded by the fact that at the time when everyone was getting to grips with iPods and streaming music etc, I was in so much debt I could barely afford to eat, so buying or playing music was a luxury I couldn’t afford … 😢 The result is that I am somewhat behind the times (long term effects / lost opportunities from years of deep debt - there’s a pHd in that I think) and haven’t learned how to use ear buds (I know, ludicrous - and a bit embarrassing actually).
I bought some a while ago and got a young colleague in work to help me set them up. They worked in work but could I get them to do anything here ….? Nope! 👎 😣😢 Anyway this afternoon, I goggled, and fiddled, and bluetoothed, and selected and only then, turned on the radio app on my iPad and THEY WORKED!! 🤩🥳🎉🎊
I am so chuffed about this 😊 It means that when Mr KK is watching some deeply traumatic n@zi / holocaust documentary or endless h3nry Cole repeats in the hours before bedtime, I can literally tune out and read or knit or tapestry or sketch, or, or, or …., be safe from the TV and be able to concentrate and relax into what I want to do … Bliss …KK

Wait, is that behind the times, ludicrous, and embarrassing, because I haven't the foggiest!
You sound like a super tech woman to me and I am extremely impressed
