That 50% date is a huge celebration day in itself. 'Half the whole house day' will cheer Mr KK up and he will forget that 'only 3 months?' feelingKajiKita said:@f0xh0les, I think we almost own over 50% of the house already4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds, @debtfreewannabe321, @beanielou, @Cheery_Daff, @themadvix, @Baileys_Babe 😊
@f0xh0les, *I* will celebrating once we get to 50% ownership! 😊😉
It’s very wet, windy and grey here. We are hunkering down today and doing some tidying. Mr KK is doing more on his bedroom and I will be working on the office / craft room. I have another batch of soup to make for work lunches 😊
My new ‘regime’ seems to be progressing okay. I’ve lost c. 1.5lbs over the last 10 days or so and my posture is improving. I shall continue … 😉
One thing I am very impressed by is how Mr KK is being (fairly) sensible about his windfall. He is planning his spitfire flight (bucket list item) and there are a few other little things he wants to do (get his proper jeep engine block stitched so can put it back in the jeep and sell on the current live engine, get the tow bar he has actually fitted to his van so he can start taking his historic bikes and camping gear to shows this year 😊). But, he is also commenting that he can see how easy it would be to fritter the rest ….

That's good self awareness that he is foreseeing the frittering rather than commenting in a years time in hindsight what he could have done differently 🤣.
It's raining and pouring here although I've promised DD I'd go to the gym with her som I'm sat in gym gear waiting for her to get up and ready 🙈 then I shall also join you in hunkering down!Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Well I'm not sure if we are lucky or not. The weather is so miserable it can't even be bothered raining or the wind blowing. I opened the curtains this morning & almost closed them again & nothing has changed. I am going to have to make myself do something soon!3

Weather here has turned miserable. It was really blowy this morning and OH commented that the shed door had blown open. About 10 minutes after he'd closed it and wandered off to his computer I noticed the young mostly white cat sitting on our lawn. A second later it was bucketing down and the poor cat was sprinting for the shrubbery. We've currently got the 2 cat visitors - this one who comes to peer in the lounge door and a very fat black and white tuxie. I'm assuming it's fat rather than pregnant but time will tell. And I'll check the shed when the rain stops to ensure s/he isn't nesting in there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Marvellous @KajiKita! They probably put the offer in because they'd heard about your soup...love Humdinger xx2

@debtfreewannabe321, I don’t think it’s a ‘road to Damascus’ conversion type moment but it’s another chink in his oblivious armour …. 😉
You have worse weather than us today. We have periodic howling gusts with drifting rain …
@badmemory, did you find some motivation …? 🤔
Do think that might be the cat distribution system at work @Brie?@Humdinger1, that’s very sweet of you but actually Mr KK is reasonably well known in the military vehicles world for the quality of his restorations (he has an epic blog about the Bedford one) and the buyer could see that every detail was true to the truck e.g. all the tools (shovel, pick, spanner’s etc) with it are 1939 as well 😊
Got the floor in the office cleared and almost cleared the desk. Wiped down what of the desk I could see 😊
After lunch I got a batch of leek and split soup on the go. Whilst it was simmering for 45 minutes I popped out to walk the loop - that added another 2K steps 😊 I have also tasted, seasoned, blitzed, boxed and washed up after the soup. Found a new use for my jam funnel - I can now pour soup into boxes rather than endlessly spooning it in! It was really tasty 😋 I can see myself getting into this … 🤔
