Hi Watty1, I recently tried their chickpeas and would highly recommend them. I used them when making spinach and chickpea curry (G0od F0od recipe) and felt that since they were the star ingredient in a very simple dish, it was worth the extra pennies. Following your recommendation, I will consider buying their butter beans.

Morning @KajiKita what a great way to start the day. For the a few years now I have protected my sweet pea plants by recycling plastic bottles provided by a friend who works in a tearoom. I cut the top and bottoms off and slip the casing over the plants. I save them and reuse them each year.

Another vote for the B0ld Be@ns here - even my teenager has enjoyed some of their recipes (esp a Mediterranean fish and bean stew one) … definitely worth keeping an eye out for offers on them

As I've bought a few jars over the months in my online shopping, they now sometimes appear in my Nect@r prices so I stock up as they are over £1 cheaper then. I like that you can use the stock around the beans in many of the recipes to make sauces etc.

Smiling at all the bean-love … Only on my thread? 😉😂😂😊
Had a rough start to the week. Came out of the weekend very tired and work is raggedy atm due to boss being on long term sick and half the management team being on leave. I have been feeling very low and blue. I think the inner child work on Friday took more out of me than I realised and I’m really rather glad that I don’t have a session this week (counsellor is on holiday) so I can catch up with myself a bit. The physio session was tough again yesterday. I think if we ever met in real life we would avoid each other …
Mr KK has been a complete hero this evening, beating back the bindweed around the garlic and shallots. Looks a lot better.
Chloe sat on me, in the garden(!) this evening, for the first time ever ❤️My car is on for the £1300 labour cost alone air con repair … It was as bad as leaving a pet at the vets for an operation. Hopefully get it back tomorrow.
I seem to have accidentally worn down a very sour and dour woman in work that everyone else avoids and we now talk about the party she went to last weekend and yes, she would love some rhubarb from my garden. Not quite sure how that happened ….? 🤔😂Harvests this evening:
- 1.5kg or trimmed rhubarb - for MiL and lady at work
- Big sprig of mint to go in with the boiled potatoes for dinner this evening 😊Replied to my father’s weekly ‘I have been for a walk in the mountains’ email.
Ooh and the new bin lid arrived. To be fair, it is a proper upgrade and because the shape is flatter it fits under the worktop better and so fully opens in use. I’m very pleased 😊KK

Lots of positives there, great stuff.
Hope the rest of the working week goes well and that you have rest and treats to look forward to at the weekend

I think its such a joy when a cat deigns to sit on you for the first time or indeed when a dour woman accepts some rhubarb :)

One of mine snuggled up this morning, and for the first time wrapped her paws and tail round my arm before settling down and snoring away. So I had to have a brief lie-in!
