only thing I get this is MnS is my knickers and even those aren't as good as they used to be. Raw seams (which cut my skin!), cheaper, thinner material. Not easy to find ones that are 100% cotton. That said I think I've got enough to last me the next decade so we'll see if they change their practices (unlikely). I used to love their tshirts as they were good decent quality and often on sale but I haven't seen anything I like in a few years.
I do buy the other brands they sell as I can order 15 dresses (or whatever), pick them up at the local food hall (no delivery fee), try them all on and return the 14+ I don't like.

Hard week here as my shoulder is now completely locked up. I have admitted defeat, stopped training and booked a physio for next week … sigh … Lots of broken sleep thanks to that and the night before last because there were nationwide exercises for armed services doing dispersal rehearsals - helicopter central here for a few hours from 2am to 5am, intermittently …
Looked at Mothering Sunday cards in morreesons today - I must be feeling fragile as they were all really affectionate, caring and loving and thanking the relevant matriarch for being supportive, generous, kind etc etc … I couldn’t choose any of them as my mother has never been any of these things and it made me feel really raw … 😢 I did find a neutral, ‘mother’ not ‘mum’ card in the end (We are not ‘mum’ apparently…) which will serve ….
Had a mindset call at 2.30pm today, in which there was lots of ‘sensible’ talk about being kind to myself etc etc. but I find pain tiring and wearing and it lowers my resilience. I have a feeling that this weekend will be a quite one …

I am just grateful that my DS has never given me the type of card I gave my mother & the reason I was really reluctant to be a mother in the first place. I just console myself with the fact that I was a really different type of bad mother. He denies that thankfully.

The last time I sent my mum a mother's day card I cried because I couldn't find one to fit, aloof, neglectful and abandons child 🤣 and so I found a pretty one with no message inside and sent that and never bothered again. Same for father's day and my dad....
My shoulder has also been hurting me. Mine is directly from the gym machines so I've started to lower the weight down to almost nothing on them. It's like once you mess your rotar cuff up it never seems to heal fully 🤔. Don't blame you for stopping the dance mums that sounded like hard work not fun!

I could never bring myself to buy one of those, I figured I would be struck down by thunderbolts from on high for telling such lies. I did consider writing .. 'Sorry, I must have the wrong number' inside one, but then it would have been solely for my enjoyment, and would not have had the slightest effect on them, because in their little heads they were perfect. We all have our own truths, don't we.
So I for one am very grateful for MotherKK providing the universe with you, she might have had no idea what on earth to do with you once she had fulfilled her brief, but that is on her, not you.
You rock!
Blame the postal service if she doesn't receive her mythical card, it is a white lie to keep the peace.

Pain is tiring and wearing. (It can also make me grumpy 😠). Be kind to yourself.
I just use a blank card and write on it. We both think it’s commercialised twaddle.

Pain is mentally knackering as well as physically, and makes every single thing feel like it's being seen or done with premenstrual levels of 'why is everything so awful, I'm going to cry'. It is not admitting defeat to take some time to heal
Well done getting a suitable card. As @beanielou said, a blank one for your own message in future will do grand as well. Fwiw, I have a good relationship with my mum, and mother's day cards with captions on make me want to throw up. I always get a blank one in a nice design.
Hope you have a much more restful night and a lovely taking it easy weekend with lots of reading and snoozing and cwtches and dozing and snacks and naps and gentle pottering

Sympathise with the shoulder pain, I wasn't able to lift my arm up at one point. Then I got that one sorted and the the other started playing up - not quite so bad thankfully. I can recommend an ice pack (bag of peas in a tea towel is fine too), but I got some cold gel from the chiropractor which I highly recommend - Ice Storm pain relief gel. But it seems shoulders take a lot of time to get better.

Thanks @badmemory, please may I ask why are you always so incredibly hard on yourself?
@debtfreewannabe ❤️ Maybe free weights would be a better option than the gym machines? I’ve always found the gym machines aren’t adjustable enough for me to work on them the way my body is joined together - the reach is always too long, too wide etc I honestly think this is another example of the world being designed for men - broader, taller, longer. Free weights you could use within your range. Maybe ask for an instructor’s induction on free weights?@f0xholes, you are spot on with my mother not knowing what to do with me once she had me 😉 And having gone to the trouble of finding a d@mn card I am flipping well sending it now! 😂 Plus it would hurt her if I didn’t.
@beanielou - yup to the pain being tiring. I had forgotten how much … Hugs for the complicated family stuff x@teapot2 thank you 😊 I’m thinking there is a gap in the market here, I can see a whole gang of us on Dragon’s Den, pitching non-emotive parents day cards … 🤔😉
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds, I am aiming for a quietly unambitious weekend here … 😉
@SandyShores yes, people say about cold packs and gels and things but the thought just makes me shudder. I am finding warmth seems to help the most so I have a microwaveable wrap thingy coming from big river today … 🤞
No idea why the tagging has been so inconsistent on this post, I have tried to go back and correct it, but ‘da system’ is not having it … 🙄🤷♀️
Slept okayish, woke very early again. Feeling very quiet and still and ‘in the eye of the storm’ atm. My Buddhist / Shamanic friend thinks I might be going on an underworld journey currently and I suspect she’s right, with the amount of old memories, strange dreams and weird physical and mental triggers I am experiencing currently. It’s never a pleasant process, but it’s a form of psychic housekeeping and what’s on the other side will be better, so long as I can get there before too long … 😉
Right, I think it’s time for some nice grounding breakfast! Eggs and toast are calling me … 😊
