@Brie I love 49 being on the list,
Haven't heard of Diane from Denmark so will look at that.
DD2 home and DD1 came round so lunch and gave DD1 some of her things to go through and both box of children's books and toys. I think a 3rd being kept (years ago I got rid of most), and also offered them a new book, cosmetic bag/wash bag and other items - not takers for these.
DD1 taken a pair of socks, some paper work, a jacket and belt of mine and a book
DD1 also helped me with clothes so 5 tops and coat in CS bag to which I added the book and wash bag and was taken to CS today, also item returned.
Paperwork x 2 recycled.
Counting as 16 but feels like more - but then have a big box of things to decided to donate and /or sell - includes dolls house furniture.9 -
Thanks Daisy, but that wouldn't work for me. I would find all the envelopes depressing; I find that the illustrations on the cases are what trigger the memories of the music/film. I guess I have a very tactile and visual memory - words on a page do very little for me.daisy_1571 said:Dnd I took all my cds and dvds out the folders and keep them now in paper envelopes, takes up so much less space. I write a number on the envelope, log them in a spreadsheet so I can easily find what I'm looking for. Through logging them I found i had some duplicates i wasnt aware of. The envelope system also saves the whole reshuffling everything down a shelf when buying a new cd and it doesn't fit beside its alphabetical mates or genre mates depending how you store your cds.
Dxx
I do have the DVDs on a database for quick checking and to enable me to have them in alphabetical order and have a database for World/Folk/Popular CDs with a single artiste. I started a database for the classical CDs but it became rather complicated as one CD might contain multiple composers with multiple pieces of music.
For the classical CDs I pick out the single composer ones and have those alphabetically, the rest are batched in themes such as guitar music/medieval music/Christmas music etc., etc.. I think I counted over 1200 CDs when I packed them. 🤣
I've really enjoyed getting them accessible again and being able to start listening to them again. 😁 DxxAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade BudgetDECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN - 2023 🏅4*⭐️ : 2024 🏅💐2*⭐️ : 2025 ⭐⭐⭐🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 : 2026 🏅🏅

The list was interesting.
I finally have succumbed to a cold after having what seems an endless stream of people sneezing or coughing around me.
I'm hoping it doesn't hang around too long.
I've decluttered several more socks into the bin after having another sort out of them and found several with holes in.
3 pairs of new, unworn slipper socks re-homed, 1 gift bag binned, jumper returned to m and s, soft recycling taken to recycling point, recycling/food waste put out and housework done.
I've also taken quite a few tins of pulses to a local food bank drop off point.
(Vacuum, floors mopped and bath/sink/tiles in bathroom cleaned)
I'm hoping to do some serious dusting at some point, as it's something I sadly I keep forgetting to do, along with cleaning the kitchen window.
I also need to clean round the oven, and get around to clearing the kitchen counters.Decluttering campaign 2023

Sat with the laptop working while listening to a podcast on YouTube.
I've scheduled a few bits of work to be done tomorrow so after B&L's morning walk I am going to clean the house!
Will get back to work tomorrow afternoon.Debt Free - 4th June 20256 -
@QueenJess - I'm trying to overpay too. What I have found helpful is to round down my current account each week into a separate savings account (they were called Tilly Tidy's on MSE, not sure if they still are). I round it down to the nearest £10. Some weeks it's nearly that much, other weeks it's a pound or less. At the end of the year I normally have enough to pay off a month or two. I wish I could pay more but I don't get paid enough

@Brie - No. 49 on the list of 50 things is pretty much my entire house
@_Dolly_Rocker_ Oh that's a bummer about the OP. Hope you get it sorted
I made some Dinkel Pop Bars today with some puffed spelt I was given. I thought they'd be like rice krispie treats but sugar puff flavour. Unfortunately they didn't really work, they taste stale and are not holding together enough to get a slice. I was thinking of topping them with chocolate to hold them together but may just eat them like cereal, bleurgh!!

Tuesday continued: It rained on & off all day. I have started knitting another adult sized hat having knitted 3 child sized hats - see pic

DH has gone out in the car to pick up fish’n’chips for dinner - my treat as I couldn’t be bothered to cook 😉 Back to the cheerleading:
Elisheba, excellent tips when culling mugs (and glasses) 👏
Willowtree222, This “Today one job just kept leading to another. My office conversion back to a bedroom resulted in having to clear one wardrobe to fit some stuff in, which then meant drawers needing sorting. Good for decluttering!” might be hard work but what a great result for your decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏
Wednesday2000, very interesting 🤔 Congratulations on turning a decision into a successful action 👏
TC77, it was from the freezer. When thawed it looked so unappetising & still unidentifiable that I didn’t hesitate for a second before binning it 🤢
Great work decluttering the bulk of the “useful empty box pile” SeekingFlight 👏
QueenJess, I think I might have to try This “…. although I am slowly wearing my clothes ……. I think I wear even fewer of my clothes than I originally thought as I'm not sure I can get through them all in a month, but let's see.” 🤔 but might have to do it over three months 🤔 I love that particular type of solitaire game 😊 Excellent work reaching your first Use It Up target 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way.
Excellent decluttering Chocolatedrinker 👏 Good luck with your tidying in the study 🍀 hopefully you will find space for your Lego 🤞
vulpix, These “De cluttering for me helps me feel in more control. There isn't a huge amount you can do to control the outside world but you can work wonders on your own environment.” are such wise words 😊 Such a disappointment that the wardrobe & drawer space was so deceptive 😞 Hopefully your planned rearrangement will work 🤞Well done on finding a few bits to declutter 👏
Lovely sentiments Muddy_Walker 🥹 & excellent decluttering 👏
_Dolly_Rocker_ a great idea to pay off your mortgage early 👏 Very MSE & Martin would definitely approve ☺️ DH & I paid ours off years ago as our mortgage company allowed us pay off a lump sum + let us leave our monthly payments at the original amount so that the term shortened. The best part though was that there were no penalties for paying off the mortgage early although I seem to remember that there was an admin fee for tying off all the paperwork 😊
A quick thank you to any of our Declutterati family who have highlighted various issues that _Dolly_Rocker_ should take into account 👏
BlueJ94, fingers crossed that your listings continue to sell well 🤞
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 you have more than made up for the few items that came in 😊
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 & how lovely to have a surprise mini windfall ☺️
Steady decluttering TC77 👏 & very impressed that you are returning clothing items 🥹
Excellent decluttering & sorting Yorkie1 👏 As to This “I am debating whether any of the remaining ones (plastic boxes) may be useful e.g. as seed trays later in the spring. But I must guard against the "just in case" thought process, which is why I have so many to start with!”, just one question ‘Are you likely to get any more in over the next couple of months?’ If the answer is yes you can afford to be brutal when decluttering your current supply of plastic boxes 😉
DawnW, decluttering the day to day items is a win as it stops excess clutter gaining a foothold 👏 What lovely gifts for GD & little GS 🥹 Your GD is very talented 🤩 - I could just about sew on a button at age 12 😉
suzeesu2000 sorry to hear that DH is no longer safe to go into the loft 🙁 However well done on working out a new storage strategy 👏
_Dolly_Rocker_ , sounds like you have it all worked out 👏 Good luck 🍀
Florenceem, pleased that your family & SA ‘family’ are rallying round & supporting you 🥹
Excellent work going through the DVDs charlies_tribe 👏 It sounds like it was a lot of work but if you can earn a bit of money, all well & good 😊 Another option might be to offer them to your local library if they have a media section 🤔
Another page caught up 🙂 I will do washing up & then come back & do a little more cheerleading 🤞

I will admit to putting a tick against far too many on Brie's list. It's given me food for thought.
Back to the small bedroom this afternoon. I was given two of these about two years ago and they have been pushed to the back of a cupboard today I dragged them out and used the small drawers for buttons, beads and all my other small crafting bits and pieces I've accumulated. It's frightening how much I've got and what I had forgotten. First the moment it's a reorganisation rather than a declutter but it was all over the house so has been condensed to one place. I may regret not labelling the drawers as I worked !A couple more bits of fabric given to me have been added to the CS bag, they are good fabrics but not my taste so not sure why I was keeping it.
I would like to move the Christmas tree and decs into the loft but the loft ladder and I have a hate hate relationship so it will have to wait for my sister or nephew, I've had too many mishaps on the ladder to risk the hip
