Dolly good luck in paying off the mortgage early I remember that feeling when I finished mine (thanks to redundancy 🙂) I had been chipping away with extra payments before hand. For me as a single person it was a sense of relief that if I was made redundant again I wouldn't have to worry.
i realised over Christmas that my family are enablers 🙄 fudge , chocolate and crafting stuff. I spent the afternoon in the small bedroom resorting the crafting cupboard so I could put gifts away and as I was feeling proactive I spent the rest of the afternoon tidying and sorting the small bedroom it looks so much better and i found it quite relaxing, no one to hear me singing along to my music! Two pairs of shoes have been added to a bag for the CS with some fabric I won't use (one CS has a small crafting section) I need to replace my bedside lamps, today I had to return two new ones as they didn't work but once some more arrive one of my current ones will be binned and the second added to the CS bag.I brought a new 'heavy' cardigan and a jumper in the sales and have added a very old cardigan and jumper one to the pile for the textile skip at the tip they have only been fit for indoors wear this winter but are getting past that. As I'm typing this I've decided three cardigans I haven't worn since I stopped working can go into the CS bag in the morning they were old smarter office ones I and I haven't been there in rarely six years, so not so smart any more.Three books have been added to a bag to go to Petworth Saturday with some cds donated by a friend which have been taking up room in the bedroom as I've dripped fed them to the shop.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin18 -

Lovely cheerleading Liverpool_Anne 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 The new CS sounds like it is well run & has well trained staff ☺️ hopefully they will keep up the good work 🤞 How exciting, making plans & doing prep work for your new kitchen 😁 A real pleasure to hear about your builder as he sounds both professional & efficient ☺️ You are definitely going to be kept busy over the next few weeks 😥 so I do hope you find some time to rest & relax 🤞
jivjules1,sorry to hear that you are struggling with energy 😔 even so you have done a good amount of decluttering 👏 Hopefully you can find a bit of time to drop off the donations bag 🤞
BlueJ94, well done on posting parcels before work 👏 & good luck with your To Do list 🍀
DundeeDoll, what a brilliant 26 minute declutter 🤩👏 I am now keeping my fingers crossed that the next drawer you declutter is just as profitable 🤞
Welcome Elisheba 👋 Such an inspirational story 🥹 thank you so much for sharing it with us 👏Hopefully the purchase of your “tiny little cottage in the hills in Scotland” goes through quickly & smoothly 🤞 Congratulations on your spectacular weight loss last year 🤩
Excellent decluttering greent 👏 Very impressed that you are making progress on Al three of your 2026 aims 🥳
Interesting observations about using a dehumidifier daisy_1571 😊
Well done decluttering two frogs Willowtree222 👏
DundeeDoll, I hadn’t realised David Bowie has been gone for 10 years 😞
_Dolly_Rocker_ , how wonderful to have a day with just your dogs to walk 😊 so you can set your own timetable 😊
Lovely cheerleading post vulpix ☺️ I especially liked your comment for Elisheba - definitely “a decluttering poster girl” 🥹 Poor MrV - trying to drop off a bag at the CS & being thwarted 🙁 I now have the Mission Impossible music running around in my head 😂
2Scratters, fingers crossed that the pace of work on the kitchen extension picks up 🤞 Good luck with the loft decluttering 🍀
canvascamper, I completely understand This “We need to move all the bedroom furniture and 'stuff' back but everything looks so clean and tidy without it that I don't want to. Can't keep everything in the back room though!” 😉 I get the same feeling (on a smaller scale) when I have an empty shelf in a kitchen cupboard, I just want to keep it empty 😊
Yorkie1, I would have to agree that This “Had bad anxiety symptoms last night which made me think about how the house would appear to anyone if they had to come in and deal with it instead of me (yes, a bit morbid for 3am!)” is a tad morbid 😉 but well done you for using it is an impetus for a decluttering blitz 👏 Good luck with the plastic tubs 🍀
Excellent decluttering charlies_tribe 👏 I am especially impressed that your children had to earn their pocket money 😊 Wishing you good luck with the DVDs 🍀 hopefully you can earn a little cash 🤞
Lovely post Dizzycap 🥹 Great work sorting out the outside Christmas decorations 👏 Sounds like you are making great progress making your wire coat hangers Christmas Angel ☺️ - I am putting in an early request for a photo when it is completed 🙏 I am in awe of your attitude to your “spine support braces” 🥹 & This “Babyface thinks I've turned into RoboCop by the way I'm moving, especially as there are beeping noises coming from me as I do, which she finds great fun as she thinks I'm playing the 'I'm coming to get you' monster game in between giving her raspberry tummy blow kisses on the bed - The things I get distracted by” + This “Sometimes, I would just love to be in her head to see what she's imagining & experiencing, or perhaps not as the case may be!” had me grinning like a loon 😁
_Dolly_Rocker_ , I cannot watch True Crime programmes, just too depressing 😞 As you say “….. a lot of right evil people in this world. Scary stuff.” Housework………what’s that 😉 Joking aside, I do need to join you in being better at it 😞
Deb4, hopefully DS helped with the decluttering 🤞at least for a little while 😉 Well done on getting into the habit of meal planning & listing current contents of food cupboards before going shopping 👏 Very MSE 😊 Good luck with your new listings 🍀
Who knew dehumidifiers were quite so attractive 🙊
Willowtree222, thanks for the reminder about a 2nd spin 👏
Great decluttering Floss 👏 Lucky cat 😊
BlueJ94, This “OH has gone out for a few hours which means I get to declutter everything and anything without him even realising 🤣” is brilliant 🤩 Good luck with the decluttering 🍀
I have noticed the time a lot earlier than usual so will post this & get an early night (for me 😅) Sleep tight 😴

Good morning chums ,just checked the weather and its heavy rain and wind today so jigsaw, knitting, reading etc on the agenda for today.
Ive got a bit of a sniffle, and tomorrow is stitch and b*tch morning, and I don't want to miss that. Plus we hold it in the cafe in the Coop in Ryde and they I saw have my favourite LU biscuits on offer, which I treat myself to now and again there as well. Two packets of those will be coming home with me for the biscuit tin
I have some paper backs to go on their charity shelf as well so they can be decluttered, and one of the ladies there makes stuffed toys for charity and I dug out half a bag of toy stuffing that I know I shan't use so I'll take it with me tomorrow for her.
I'm trying to think of where to declutter a big plastic box full of CDs thats been sitting stashed away in the bottom of my big wardrobe since I moved 18 months ago.
I may phone the Mountbatten Hospice up and see if they can use them to raise some funds. I still have a cd player incorporated in to my radio, but I really rarely use it at all. it would be better off going to some use for someone else.Nothing wrong with them just packed away and taking up space.
Time for a cuppa I think, have a good day chums and keep warm and dry if you can

mum made me laugh yesterday - after I had referred to the eating of the 2 single portion xmas puds and carton of custard, all past their best before date, as decluttering, we apparently 'decluttered' the shepherd's pie which was of course just made so to my mind normal living, not decluttering. however if she likes the term the term is staying
she was very pleased that the tablecloths are now in one of the kitchen drawers (rather than in a box on top of my wardrobe, 2 floors up and too high for her to reach anyway) - we now have a nice clean red and white checked table cloth and have decluttered the green one with the big hole in. I have been enjoying Diane from Denmark's daily challenge and will incorporate into tonight's 26 min declutter. 20*25 for 2025: 489 / 50012 -
Looking back at last weeks list, i don’t seem to have got much done. I only want seven things on the go at a time otherwise the list will become overwhelming. The empty space after a number means it got done!
It’s dd1 graduation so not going to be home for a few days so have put a book on list to read on train journey. I have a stash that i actually want to read but never get round to and once read they get passed on.
Am waiting for mums AA form so part way through that but can’t do anything else until it arrives. Others i’ve started but not completed.
I did also take a bag full of Blister packs to recycle at Boots. Mum goes through loads of pills. I know you can get points etc for recycling but the guy on the tills now knows how many i offload so leaves me to it!Jan:-
- offload unwanted sweets/xmas chocs (sister takes them to work and leaves in brew room!)
- sort glasses and mugs in cupboard
- clean living room window (will take a while as not been touched in a long time )
- sort mums attendance allowance out. She already gets basic but been advised to get higher one. (this is helping to declutter my todo list)
- declutter one book (to be read on train!)
- declutter 70 random items round house
- sort top shelf of food cupboard
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Just plodding along this end, making sure I am working through consumable bits and pieces. I would love to pay off my mortgage, but never seem to be able to get it paid down enough.Digital:

Use it up total 30I'm also attempting to track net stuff into the house at the moment. I'm ignoring kids stuff as I have little control over most of that and just looking at the house stuff and my own things that I buy. I don't mind if I have a bit more, but I thought it would be enlightening to track to ensure I am not bringing in excess stuff. Should help the budget as well. Have to say that my +7 net things in seems a lot given I don't need anything and it's only 13 days into the month! It's making me think a bit more..2026 decluttering: 72 🤑🥉 ⭐️
