2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Made some headway the last few days - 4 old candle jars recycled, a bag of old pompoms binned, 25 assorted fidget toys binned (the joy of neurodiverse children - the house is covered in fidgets!), and I went through the memory box and binned 16 old maps and documents that have no real sentimental value.
So that's 116 items total so far this year decluttered
Deleted 895 emails - total 1963. Turns out I've got a ridiculous amount of emails. I also unsubscribed from a load of mailing lists to try and stem the flow.
Tomorrow is my day off, the first one without any children or husband or workman in the house for 6 weeks. I need to list a load of vinted stuff, but I'm also determined to do some yoga and watch some TV. If only the school run was a little bit later than 3pm, it flies by so fast!

A SA friend came to see me - brought a plant. Granddaughter collected it on her way home from work as I don't do plants or flowers.
This morning I walked into town to get cash and take donations to the charity shop.
I bought 2 crusty rolls as I fancied a smoked salmon and cucumber roll. I also bought a cake. I did manage to eat the rolls and cake - I didn't have a dinner today - but it was the first time I have felt hunger since last Tuesday.
I decided to go out again - called at SA to get a news letter.
I went to the undertaker to sign a form so they could collect Mr F.
I know what shops are like about changing to a different season early so went to get another pair of my favourite make of boots. They were having a 20% off sale. No boots and couldn't order a pair but they found a pair in another shop so I have to wait for it to come to the local one.
I also bought some crocs style shoes for just popping out to the bin. I had a pair of shoes that I used for that job but I didn't like them so gone into donation bag, The last thing I bought there were a pair of shoes for wearing with my formal uniform.
I ordered formal uniform this afternoon - I chose 2 sizes as SA is not always true to size..
I have booked an appointment to register the death - have to go to another town as no appts in mine. It is the town where the dry cleaners is so I can collect the uniform
Middle daughter heard she is having Ofsted tomorrow.

@florianatwobob , you made me giggle too
light relief at the end of the day.
Lost my notebook with tax stuff and spent hours looking for it , 4 or 5 times in each place, under beds with the phone torch, drawers under the airfryer and luckily found it down the back of a chest of drawers.
More tax stuff done and some paper out, items returned, large bedspread, double and single blankets to cs. Still have too much bedding but will keep for the time being. Items returned

Made me giggle, thank you🤣florianatwobob said:Pooped into one of our remote offices on the way to the supermarket to pick up a parcel and some shopping. They’re across the road (and round the back of a building) from each other and both a 15 min walk from my home so I killed many birds with one stone and got a walk in to boot.Decluttering them tonight also saves me lugging what felt like half a tree from the train station to work tomorrow when I’ve also got my laptop and work paraphernalia on my back. That’s another 15 minute walk and it just didn’t feel like a fun idea at 7.30am.
I have a cupboard which is very hard to access. The freezer and fridge face the window. At the side of the freezer is a cupboard which faces the side of the freezer. There is zero space between the two. Plan is to empty said cupboard. See what I have that I really do need to keep. If it’s something like the soup mugs, they need to go in the other cupboard so got to make space. Idea is to take what I want to keep but rarely need to access into boxes with labels on. Boxes go in inaccessible cupboard and stuff I need regularly is found a new home in other cupboard. Fingers crossed for that one.Have a great evening all, sweet dreams xx✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Well, the postman never turned up to collect my parcel. So I had to tart myself up just to go to the post office
. Absolutely killed my knees and hips as it's the first time I've left the house since before Christmas
. Anyway, got an email around 7.30pm saying they couldn't collect, no? really??!!!
Dinner was just chicken curry and naan. Nothing interesting to report, so off to bed now to watch the Stranger Things documentary.

Hi, my cold is peaking ( I hope) so don't feel up to much. I have however eaten several IT frogs. Nasty tasting things. 1 email left in my inbox which I need more information for and then that can be dispatched too. I have been sewing up my my recent knitting.
Mr V has put hooks on the back of the bedroom doors and bathroom today. He has also put the mirror back on the Edwardian dressing table which isn't being painted today!
I put everything on a to do list. Big things, little things, I forget otherwise. As quickly as something is crossed off there are more to add.
Canvascamper, first day at home alone for 6 weeks. Enjoy.
Mrs SD, I know the drawers you are thinking of. I would love to get rid of them, Mr V won't let me. They are actually a safe. It has a label inside which says it is American and made in 1910. It has a false door at the back and compartments for coins and notes in the drawers. My Grandma and Grandad's next door neighbours were bookies and gave it us kids for the bonfire we were building in Grandmas garden in the 1960's. My Dad took it for his shed. Me n Mum dragged it out when I got my first house and I spent hours renovating it. I will do a picture of the opticians cabinet.I bought it a couple of years ago for £10. It came with a reading chart and hand mirror. It does seem a more usable height now it has hairpin legs. It has a reprieve for now.
