Today didn't go as planned. No internet on my computer - had it on phone and when I went in the office - it was working there. I fiddled around but gave up and called C a retired computer whizz who lives in my road. He said he would be along in half an hour.
Today between 8.45 and 10,45 - the disability equipment was booked to be collected. It didn't happen - chap went to the wrong house! I lodged a complaint and it is due for collection tomorrow. I also asked that they contact me on my phone not Mr F's one.
C arrived and didn't take long to get internet sorted on my computer.
I thought there were 3 computers in the office but we could only see two. C offered to take the one that wasn't being used and see if there was anything on the hard drive that I may need then he would dispose of it. C also took the monitor and a keyboard. Before he left I spotted the other computer under one of the desks so C took that as well.
It was raining hard but I went into town with donations for the charity shop. I called in to Mr F's bank to be greeted by my christian name. Chap said I can take the death certificate in and he will scan it - only one credit card that has nothing on it.
I need to work out how many certificates to get.
I called in at SA on my way home.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Brie that list made me laugh because I think I have every single one of those things in my house!
Managed to get to the tip today and declutter 5 bins of rubbish which had accumulated over the period when the bins weren't being emptied as often as usual. Also sold 5 of the cookery books I no longer needed. I am trying to sell some of the stuff I have that I deem "too good to get rid of" and have therefore been hoarding for years on end. I am thinking that I will save any money I make for something (don't know what yet but definitely not more stuff!)13 -
@Florenceem - I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I am fairly new to this thread so don't know your story, but it sounds from recent posts that you will have many happy memories to treasure. Hopefully, in time, they will bring you some comfort.14

@Florenceem - That's annoying that they never came. Bad enough waiting in for them once.@oceandreamer - I've got 4 bags so far of stuff I'm going to attempt to sell.Debt Free - 4th June 202510

oceandreamer - I was so blessed to be married to Mr F.
The captain at my Salvation Army spoke so lovingly of Mr F on Sunday when he announced his Promotion To Glory. Apparently one of the women in the congregation sobbed.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Tried to make my first mortgage OP today but was stuck in a loop between the website and the app.
Gave in and will maybe call them tomorrow to ask what I need to do.
Dinner on. Having chicken salad with onion rings. Fridge, freezer and cupboards are looking very bare which is what I am aiming for.
Really need to do better with the meal prepping, next week maybe!Debt Free - 4th June 202513 -
From one Deb to another. I still don't know what I want to do and I'm retired and 71. 🤣🤣Deb4 said:I've not done much decluttering this weekend, I took my 2 parcels yesterday, the meal plan is going very well and I've 5 nsd in a roll which helps with me being on sick pay at the moment, I have been looking for a new job but I just don't know what I want to do, I am 50 this year and I had hoped by now I know what I want to do by now 😢
All I can say is keep your eyes open and an open mind and I found that usually something came up. It might have been good or it might not but I always appreciated the experience. Ar the weekend I decluttered another 12 items taking my total to 28/2026. (sorry I was too ill/ tired to post and can't find the list for now). Yesterday Mrs Builder came so the kitchen and shower room are once again clean and tidy. I told her the kitchen looked messy but it was mostly superficial - Knowing she is due makes it easier to try doing things for myself as she will finish off things I've started but ran out of energy before finishing. Very little done on Sunday as I was feeling wiped out. However I did make a gorgeous chicken stew using leeks, celery and carrots that were already chopped and in bags in the fridge (doing bits when I feel able). The cabbage was starting to wilt but was not spoiled. All eaten now, getting my veg in and half emptied the salad drawer.
2 paper bags and 2 rubbish bags went out whilst Mrs Builder was here. I hung up some of the dry clothes and put 6 wooden hangers into a small rucksack to go to the cs. I also asked her to put 3 rolls of parcel tape on the stairs for them to take back up (I think they brought them down when they were posting things to be repaired). I added some of Beloved's clothes and a bag of tea bags I bought her for a token Christmas present. I asked Mrs Builder to move a kitchen chair with a heavy box on it, to the other side of the room. I now have access to the remaining boxes and bags to be moved/ sorted (sorting may happen after the major furniture shift round as I may not have enough energy for both). I broke up 3 cardboard boxes. DS3 has brought down another 2 boxes, taken them out to the bins and put out the paper bin for collection. Another 11 items so 39/2026.
Yesterday afternoon I had a bad headache - as in every part of my head including my bones ached or was sore.
Resting and a little nap helped to get rid of it and I thought I was getting better. I took off my wooly hat and pulled off my jumper. I checked my forehead to see if the room was warmer or if I had a fever and concluded I might just be getting over the lurgy. I was still tired though and this evening my throat is closing up (here we go for round 96). I hope that by making the bags and boxes accessible I can sit in different placess and go through some of them. I also found the all important addresses on bits of paper in my handbag. Both phones have been charged, they now need money on them so I can make phone calls.
Grateful for chicken stew and scones (toast was good but hurt my throat), making progress and being able to see where things are.
