Hi all, terrible decluttering day today, only the kitchen recycling emptied. Spent the day cleaning the kitchen and got 2 loads of washing on the maiden. Had to pop to the sm for bread and milk.
For some reason I am really tired tonight so I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one

Take care everyone

Floss, Thank you. Mr V is a massive help to me and I would not do a fraction of what I do do without his help. He has helped with the wardrobe before. Not only can I not stand for very long, I can't lift my arms up to the clothes rail as it instantly traps something and makes my legs numb and unstable. The knee problem is a big thing for me as so much of my jobs I sit on the floor to do. I am struggling massively to get down on the floor. The knees have hurt constantly for many years but this is an extra. Sharp pain when I try to bend my knee.

Poor DSis has an upset stomach so is fending for herself tonight - maybe soup or toast - she decided on chicken noodle soup. Wudupa

GrannyKate, good work with your “recheck policy” 👏 Hopefully having the urgent frog on display meant that you dealt with it immediately when you got home from the school run🤞Sounds like Sox doesn’t like getting his feet wet 😉

charlies-tribe I keep a box on the go all the time for books and dvds to go, every so often I check to see what the online sellers are looking for and another lot can earn a few quid as they change what they are looking for all the time. I had the whole series of mash which I watched gradually and didn't want to keep. Its taken several passes but I think I only have one or two seasons left and no doubt one of the places will eventually want them too. Same thing with years and years worth of broons/oor wullie books, gradually im getting them out a couple at a time.
Dnd I took all my cds and dvds out the folders and keep them now in paper envelopes, takes up so much less space. I write a number on the envelope, log them in a spreadsheet so I can easily find what I'm looking for. Through logging them I found i had some duplicates i wasnt aware of. The envelope system also saves the whole reshuffling everything down a shelf when buying a new cd and it doesn't fit beside its alphabetical mates or genre mates depending how you store your cds.

Good Morning everyone , my goodness this forum is like the runaway train from the old song. I've just been reading it through. You all have been very productive since the New Year
Florenceem as other have said be kind to yourself, and if you feel like crying then go for it. I know when I lost my late OH in 2003 I was an absolute puddle, then when things went wrong in the house (as they often did, leaks breakages etc) I used to get so angry as it seemed so unfair, and I'd say out loud 'Why are you here to fix things'
Grief takes folks in different ways at different times .You think you are coping then something daft will catch you off guard, and you just howl at things.
I won't say it will get easier, because it doesn't , but you just have to learn to live differently.
A bit like a broken leg , sometimes its OK, and sometimes you will limp at the pain, but you will walk again, with an ache every now and again that will catch you off guard. The sun will come out and life will carry on ,never the same, but differently. You know what you can manage, and how you feel. I think I lived on the odd jacket potato for ages as it didn't seem worth cooking anything. So go with your instincts and rest when you need to and just make sure that you look after yourself. I am thinking of you, so if you are tired or sad then don't feel bad
I spent two thirds of my life with my best friend and OH and he too left a huge hole in our lives. But we talk about him and both my DDs are always saying 'Oh remember when' The hardest thing I had was when my youngest grandson Mikey was 4 and his brothers were talking about their big daft Granddad who would play and read to them, and taught them the time and how to tie their shoelaces or use a screwdriver.
Mikey said "Nanny do you think Granddad would have liked me ?" (he was born the year after he pased away)
I said "Of course he would"
He replied " Then why didn't he wait for me" how do you explain to a four year old.I just said "well you had the best of all honey ,you have his name" as he was called Michael John after his granddad. That seemed to cheer him up.Bless him he's 22 this year and is the same happy-go-lucky lad his late Granddad was, always laughing and smiling. I look at him and think he has so many of my OH's characteristics. My DD swears her Dad sent him to replace him.
So remember the good times and put the bad/sad times to the back of your mind It won't be easy but you will do it JackieO xxx
Not a great deal done yesterday, rained for most of the day, and the big storm forecast on Thursday was a bit of a damp squib thank goodness. We had a couple of frosty mornings, but rain every day and a bit windy. Its been a very wet and windy winter really and looking at the forecast we still have another 10 days or so. Saturday was dry and sunny but quite windy. DD and my son-in-law took the dogs for a walk on the beach. I hope everyone stayed safe there seemed to be hit worse in the north and Wales
I've had a bit of a sniffle so stayed indoors in the warm. I did some more of the killer jigsaw yesterday, crikey it really is a hard one, and I'll be glad when its done.
Then I did a bit more knitting of the throw that I'm making for my eldest DDs single bed in her caravan at Deal.It reopens in March so I want to get it done I also volunteered to sew together lots of crocheted squares for a big throw and knit a border all around for a friend who is in need.
This afternoon if its not too cold I'm off to U3A games afternoon in Newport, where I will play Crib with my friend Richard as his wife isn't keen on cards. I do enjoy my Monday afternoon card game though. I think I will have to dig out some gloves though. I also have some paper backs to drop off at the Oxfam shop
Right time to get a wriggle on
Have a good day chums what ever you are doing

@_Dolly_Rocker_ the heater hasn't quite yet arrived yet. It was through the DIY Orange square with white letters on ending in Q company. I do know that it has 3 different settings I seem to recall for the actual of of electric use. i.e 2500, 1500 and 1000 if that helps. It is a name I haven't heard off either and these items are only available on line which does not help.

Yesterday I managed to declutter the flask/water bottle shelf down to a reasonable number and sorted out the tupperware containers. Honestly, there was a whole shelf full of them and most of the tubs and lids didn't match up. Most gone and the others packed neatly in a box. I always thought I had no storage in my house and that was why it was in the state it was. I've realised that that is definitely not true it's just how disorganised I am. Plodding onwards though, determined to just do something every day and hopefully by the end of the year things will be under control. I;ve not really managed to get much out of the house yet although I have a car full for the tip and a pile that I am going to try and sell plus a CS pile. Maybe I need to get started on those.9

I ended yesterday unable to see well enough to read, watch a series or play games on my laptop.Went to sleep at teatime and did a few bits when I woke up during the night, My sleeping pattern was a bit better as a result. I need to work on it and maybe top up my folic acid levels (I have pills but they don't fit neatly with the others, so they get missed. The weather was grey, wet and miserable and I felt the same. Heedless to say I didn't get through the things I wanted to do.8

Finally warm enough to open the garage door and put the Christmas decorations away. They have been cluttering up the utility for a week. Then cleaned the utility room floor. Finished relining the kitchen curtains so turned the kitchen table round and removed the extra leaves we needed for Christmas. The curtains are twice as big as the table at its largest size so was quite difficult even with the table big. Cleared up all my sewing stuff as well. Then made a chimney sheep out of the wool packaging from a Katkin delivery for the dining room. Going to carry on tidying up so can get on with decorating.6

Thank you Daisy. Ill keep hold of them for now and try them monthly or something. The one thing that did drive me mad was breaking up a series. Like the Harry potter or toy story, when it only wants 1 of them. Todays job is to find a big enough box for 121 DVDs as I gave the big one to DD1 yesterday for her tinted parcel the other set fit perfectly in to a dog food box.
Couldn't get a delivery so I think we're going to have to brave the supermarket. Just waiting for DD2 as she needs her passport photos doing before the bank shut her bank account in a few weeks when she turns 18 if she doesn't submit photo ID. Shes autistic, absolutely hates photos, should be fun!
