1. Daily To Do List - written the night before
2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Tuesday continued: DH called a couple more times letting me know his progress eventually arriving home 22:30 (accidents & heavy traffic) DSis & I had our dinner about 19:30 - pork steaks, boiled new potatoes & peas. I plated up a dinner for DH & warmed it up for him so it was ready for him when he got home. Wudupa

1311 - 1312 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle - recycled 

1313 - 1314 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned

I have new windows. Exactly the same as the old ones, but a lot cleaner 🤣

Unfortunately, I now have to redecorate the lounge as when the windows came out, so did some plaster and wallpaper. I have been putting off this job for a long time, it can wait a little longer as I;m back at work soon.

A box of books and a box of oddments ready for the charity shop.

We have had biblical rain for about 5 minutes this morning and now the sun is out.

Having spent several days in the ‘Purple Palace’ chain of hotels I’ve once again come back asking myself ‘how much do I really need’?

I’ve had brunch with some ‘birthday week’ friends this morning and am decluttering a dentist appt this afternoon so tomorrow I shall be having a shuffty and a sort out whilst I’m still feeling inspired to streamline.

Oh @Yorkie1 that does sound like a sorry excuse for a storm.

Decluttered a few bits yesterday and had a chat with DS. He admitted he was overwhelmed with all the stuff in his room which is why he is unable to clear it up once a week for a hoover around. I tried to talk about having less stuff so he can easily put things away and we can spend all that time we waste every week doing things as a family etc. Not sure if it's sunk in yet though.

Not feeling it today at all and not inspired, so I decided to open the nearest drawers/cupboards etc and try to find one thing in each of them to go until I got to 10 items. Managed it pretty quickly and felt relatively stress free. I now feel like I've achieved my decluttering for the day! My library is getting way tidier now as well as had loads of Buy Nothing pick ups and I've been slowly tidying through the rest and ploughing through the never ending to do list of boring chores. Next up should be checking the renewal on my car breakdown insurance and getting some quotes.

Brie

Quite windy this morning and that meant I've decluttered a picture frame that a blustery puff knocked off its picture hook. One of those cheap clipart frames so glass smashed. I did briefly consider keeping the nonglass bits but decided that was silly as it's not useable without the glass. So into the bin. My painting itself was unscathed so I've set it aside to see if there's another frame that might do. Problem is that it's one of two similar paintings so I might need to reframe the other as well. Maybe.

Garden renovation has started. The skip is full!! Including the old rabbit hutch, all the rubbish from the garden as well. I couldn't really go out today so I spent the day sorting through things. Found 10 items that were out of date in the cupboard and so disposed of and recycled the packaging. Tomorrow I am sure I will be equally as stir crazy and will do more.

Living room starts on Monday but I was bored today and started pulling the wallpaper. It came off in straight clean pieces and took 5 minutes. I have never had that with wallpaper before. Usually you have to steam it and everything, so that will save the decorator a few hours of expected work! He will be in for a right shock on Monday!

I did find little pockets of space and all of the garage waste has been added to the skip. So operation garden has benefitted operation house and garage.

Well having started off well yesterday with premium bond win, today I got a speeding penalty notice - no excuse and unusual for me. I've sent the response back on line. It is very muggy and I am hoping for more rain. Optician adjusted and straightened my glasses and they are better. DGD2 is 18 today so 4 grandchildren are now adults. DGD1's car has failed MOT and they are struggling to get the part.

782 Opticians appointment and glasses adjusted. He told me to only spend 20 miuntes on computer between breaks.

783 Purchased school bits and collected parcel with school trousers for fussy DGD4 from Next

784 1p challenge pot up to date again - I had borrowed some money from there to pay people who did garden in cash

785 I finally worked out how to change swimming pool filter without getting soaked - old one out

787 All the September birthday cards bought - I still need an anniversary card

789 Family history group done - numbers are small but I'll keep on a bit longer

@GrannyKate I'm very impressed with your advance planning in monthly birthday cards. I do set myself a reminder on the phone a fortnight before one, but then ignore it until three days before!!

I do like the cards from a company in Cornwall, Whistlefi..

I tend to do a big shop with them once a year or even less often, which means that they are incredibly reasonably priced. And lovely quality too.

I have wallpaper samples! Following the advice given many years ago by my painter and decorator Uncle, I have almost wall length samples and will tape them to the wall to see what colour changes occur during the day, how they will look against the furniture and whether I can actually live with any of them 🤣

Also, I have picked up 4 Christmas stocking gifts for the grands and two science sets for birthdays. They were all at bargain prices, total cost was £16!

Storage unit emptied and gone. Need to find new homes for children's dvd's or a hack for using them in craft work. Any ideas appreciated please and thank you.

Counting as 8. Have some crockery to post but unsure how much packaging as use alot but takes up to a very large box so will count when out.

On way home from kew gardens and a lovely cake shop near the station.
