Hi all, the past couple of days have been taken up with mostly doing the union thing. It was quite a complicated one but was sent off by 4 yesterday afternoon and I went out for coffee over the fence with ln to get away from the laptop and get some fresh air before tea 😁. Between times the bathroom bin, bathroom recycling, lr bin, lr recycling, kitchen recycling were emptied. A bag of random gubbins from the conservatory binned and 100 emails permanently deleted.
Despite having some rain overnight for the past couple of nights it is still warm and muggy and cloudy, apparently we will be getting a thunderstorm at some point in the next couple of days. I will believe it when I see it 😂.
I have nothing planned for today but there are a couple of frogs croaking at me so I might start with those and get back to some dust removal plus see what else I can eject from the conservatory 😂.
@Vulpix so sorry to hear about Fomo, what a blow, no wonder you are feeling overwhelmed. Big hugs and be very kind to yourself.💔.
Right time for another cuppa and then get something done 😁.
Hugs to everyone who would like one.

Take care everyone

Skip has arrived. However tempting it is to fill it, this is for the garden renovation starting tomorrow and not for me until they have finished.
I did remember batteries when I went shopping today and also did a mini tip run to remove some electrical items and an old laptop that needed recycling. I also saw that they did coffee pod recycling now, which should inspire me to do more as I usually have to wait for the big trip to the shopping centre.
Will see if there will be room in the skip this week. We have planned for a minimum of two, which is good.
Sofas will also be collected today and used by a care home. A good day for things to be removed and recycled today.

More decluttering to declare today. I am holding DS's decluttering in a separate list for now until he declares he is done. However, I make sure I get through the stuff and get it out the house ASAP to avoid creating a room of doom. As it's usually the room I work from home in where things pend, I am quite motivated to get it sorted and not sit in a mess!
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I don't feel organised. My method of decluttering is completely and utterly random! I do whatever I feel like on the day (could be something easy or something hard), whenever inspiration strikes. I try to consider why I feel stressed and what in my house makes me feel like that so I can determine the problem areas. Otherwise I just keep my eyes open and try to keep thinking about whether I use/want something as I move around my house as usual. Structure doesn't work for me and I can't see the point of having to get rid of X things on a day or declutter in a specified order when I don't want to and would be fighting against myself.
I did enjoy the challenge of seeing if I could half the stuff in a drawer/on a shelf though. Again, no pressure to succeed and I skipped the battery drawer altogether (because I did need and use that stuff), but it seems particularly helpful for all those random household store/just-in-case type things you have (so for me I looked at gift tags, gift ribbons/ties, gift bags (wasn't very successful there!), random cables and just a random drawer of stuff). I might apply it to some of the kitchen food cupboards as well, although it would be more of a slow use up challenge.

Tuesday is another hot sunny day with a high of 29°C, low of 18°C (feeling 2° cooler due to a brisk SW wind) I just missed a call from DH so tried to call back immediately with no joy. Then tried calling my DSis -**it transpires that since we arranged for the landline to be swapped to digital I CANNOT make outgoing calls 😖** DSis left a message for DH & he called back - he will investigate when he gets home this evening. DH enjoyed himself last night catching up with his friends.
Florenceem, not surprised you didn’t enjoy your first ever McD….. not really proper food 😞 Pleased to hear that you had a good, if long, journey 😊
QueenJess, a very interesting post & I am very impressed at how many cables etc that you decluttered 🥳 My DH could do with some lessons from you as he has 2 Crates of cables etc 😉 Good news that DS has decided to join in with the decluttering 👏 hopefully he won’t be deterred especially if you explain that a pair of trousers is a large item to declutter 😉
Excellent work clearing the garage of doom, Green_hopeful 👏 Poor “little cat” 😢 she does look content though & the collar looks cute & comfortable ☺️
Excellent work dealing with frogs Yorkie1 👏
A belated Happy Birthday florianatwobob 🥳 🎂 Another gorgeous view.
Good luck with your list of frogs oceanspirit 🍀
Excellent work suzeesu2000, especially cleaning the cooker & ‘surprising’ the kitchen floor 👏 Yippee to getting your first ever brand new kitchen 🥳 no wonder you are excited 🥹 I for one am really looking forward to following the process & will not get bored ☺️ I am hoping that there will be a few before, during & after photos 🙏 Good luck with the decluttering 🍀
Willowtree222, enjoy the skip ☺️ a perfect opportunity for some serious decluttering 🥳
GrannyKate, hopefully the start of a run of wins 🤞especially after 14 months of nothing. My DH won the same amount & I also won - £25 but that means 6 out of 8 months this year so I am happy 😊 I definitely prefer your new paving 😉
Excellent work getting the “union thing” dealt with Liverpool_Anne 👏 Still no rain here but my DH did mention that he has been soaked through once today (Tuesday) so I am hoping that he brings some rain back with him 😉 Our forecast keeps changing & currently a 40% chance of rain on Sunday 😞 Good luck with the “croaking frogs” 🍀
Willowtree222, a pity that you have to wait until after the garden renovation before using the skip 😞 Excellent decluttering 👏 especially the sofas - a medal 🏅is on its way.
Florenceem, sending many gentle cwtches 🤗
QueenJess, so pleased to hear that your DS is continuing his decluttering ☺️ I am looking forward to seeing his numbers & deciding which award I will be making 😉 Regardless of being organised or not, This “My method of decluttering is completely and utterly random” absolutely works for you 🥳👏
Welcome back in your new guise Miss_Balu 👋 I look forward to following your decluttering journey ☺️
I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊 & that anyone who wants/needs rain is finally getting it 🙏

@QueenJess I also have totally random approach to decluttering. I think in an early.post you said about old electronics.
I think a salutary tale... trying to sort photos and checking if stuff on old.phones which I need to get off. Found one ohone which works with cracked screen and another where damage to screen and won't charge. Took the latter to little repair place and was told £45 for new screen and would charge so thought great , can get stuff off it and use as back up for trip. Picked it up to find its dd2's and thought ok until she said doesn't know password and it doesn't hold charge and can't put to factory reset to pass on!
Should have got the screen on the other one mended and lesson to get rid asap of things that can't be mended :(

Welcome back Miss BaLu.
A successful day. The separate frog list worked - the main ‘must dos’ of the day were done plus numerous smaller frogs off the separate list. Will continue with the same method tomorrow to see if it works as it feels so good to get the niggly things out of the way.
