re bind weed (or cling weed as I call it!) I heard a great remedy for anyone who isn't as vigilant as you are. When spotted place a bamboo stake by the plant and twist the plant around it so it uses the stake as a support. After a week removed the stake carefully and put the now large handful of weed into a garbage bag without pulling it from the ground. Spray nuclear type weedkiller into the bag and tie the bag shut. The weed will die all the way to the last root and any wildlife will be protected from the nuclear chemicals.
and re the broken bones - we have an ongoing family dialog about my oldest brother (B1) breaking his arm and why it was my second oldest brother's (B2) fault. Well about age 7 B1 had decided he would try to fly. And to achieve this he needed a bit of height. So he climbed up a ladder to gain some elevation and instructed B2 to pull the ladder out from under him when he jumped off the top of the ladder. B2 must have liked the experiment and agreed to help. So B1 jumps, B2 pulls ladder and B1 hits the ground and breaks his arm. They still argue who should be blamed. They are both in their 70s.

Saturday is yet another warm sunny day although there are more fluffy white clouds providing some relief from the sun. The forecast high is a more manageable 24°C with a low of 16°C & a NNE breeze. As there was no weekly shop on Thursday or Friday, DH & DSis have gone shopping today. I wrote a smallish list & they left 13:00 Now I will start the cheerleading & see how far I can get 🤞starting with a post dated early a.m. Friday 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that you were so tired 😞 although not surprising after what turned into a marathon trip into town 😔 Well done on decluttering some books
& making that ladies day by donating the carrier bag 👏 Quite cheeky of B 😉 but I suppose it does mean that you can time your trip 😊 Hopefully he has had a good time staying with his aunt & uncle & will be more relaxed than during your last visit 🤞
BlueJ94, that is a lot of food 😧 did you take some home? Hope your OH enjoys the car show & you enjoy your own company at home on Saturday 😉 Good luck at the evening boot sale 🍀 Are you selling or buying?
TC77, sounds like the decorators have worked quickly 👏 Fingers crossed that the scaffolding is taken down early in the week & the final bits of decorating are finished quickly 🤞 DD2 seems to have caught the decluttering bug 🥳 Great decluttering & well done on the sales 👏 Are you earmarking the monies for anything special? Hopefully you found the sale item & it is now packaged & sent 🤞 As to the chairs, can they all be gathered in one room so you can see what you have 🤔 then it might be easier to tell which ones should stay - perhaps your favourite and most comfortable ones 😉 Good luck with sorting the banking stuff & also completing your weekend mini challenge 🍀
DH & DSis got back about 14:30. Apparently the sm was so crowded that whilst DSis was queuing for cigarettes DH had enough time to put our shopping in the car & drive to the front of MrS to pick up DSis. I put away all the shopping & took the opportunity to chop up wilting vegetables for the freezer - stocking up for winter soups 😉 Now back to the cheerleading…………
Excellent decluttering surprisinglynice 👏 I believe there is a patron saint of lost things 🤔 so if you call on him hopefully you will find the missing needles 🤞 I think that up to 24°C with a light breeze is a good temperature - can work both indoors & outdoors 😊
GrannyKate, hope you have a wonderful time in Crete ☺️ As you say you should be prepared for the heat although hopefully the humidity will be quite low 🤞 Pleased to hear that the work at the side of the house is completed & that you are happy with the results ☺️ Excellent decluttering 👏 Good luck wrangling Sox into his basket 🍀
Florenceem, your daughter’s trip to Ghana with her choir sounds amazing 🤩 Always interesting to see how other people worship 🥹 The video of the coach driving through a poverty stricken town is a stark reminder of how fortunate we are. Good luck to teacher grandson J 🍀 Hopefully the maternity cover will be extended into a permanent job 🙏 Fingers crossed that your Bestie can help get the photo issue sorted 🤞
vulpix, re the olive tree no-one is more surprised than me as I bought it as an 18” sapling from Columbia Road market about 20 years ago & it was left to fend for itself apart from an occasional watering ☺️ Sorry to hear about the fires on the Moors so am keeping everything crossed that the St Swithins folklore is wrong 🤞The house decluttering might be going in the wrong direction at the moment but that is more than made up for by all the work you are doing outdoors 👏 Please be careful not to overdo it 🙏 I had to laugh at This “DD1 has just phoned to ask if she can come and work from our dining room table today. 🤣 Of course.” 🤣😂 now you just have to find somewhere for the kids circus tent 🙊 Poor MrV 🥺 sorry to hear that his bruises are taking time to fade 😔
GrannyKate, what a difference 🤩 The builders have done a really good job 👏 and Sox seems to like it ☺️
I keep letting myself get distracted 😬 This time it was to get DH to order me a couple of skirts as the skirt I recently repaired is at least 30 years old & almost not fit to wear 😉 Order placed & DH reimbursed from my 1p savings challenge treat money 😊 A teeny, tiny bit of decluttering - office detritus & uu pen binned (1190 - 1191)
I hope everyone is having a good day & that GrannyKate has arrived safely in Crete 😊 See you later 👋

I did it. It’s all done. I have never felt so absolutely bone numbingly shattered as I do right now. On the upside, I challenged myself and I won plus I now have a clean and bright HSL. I know pride in oneself is a sin, but I am feeling quite chuffed.
Finished about 1pm and it hadn’t got too hot so I utilised the weather and cleaned my hall and 3/4 of the stair carpet and, wow, did I Decluttered some dirt! I cleaned the hall carpet last week when I got the carpet cleaner to have a practice so I wasn’t expecting the colour of the water today. Couldn’t do right to the top stair as the pipe thing wouldn’t reach so, tomorrow I shall be cleaning the landing carpet and can do the missed stairs then.
Then just got to put everything back. Was a bit more bearable today so hope everyone else wasn’t boiling. So nice to see all the photos, I’m loving them. Have a great evening all, sweet dreams xx

Florenceem, very odd 🤨 Hopefully it will be a smooth transfer to your new Corps 😊 Well done on both the decluttering & the continuing success of using up freezer contents 👏 Lovely photos & that console table looks beautiful especially with the lamp & jug 🤩
dND, keeping my fingers crossed that the weather starts cooling down so that you can catch up on your sleep 🤞 Congratulations to DS1 on getting the job he wanted 🥳 A pity that he won’t be living quite so close but 35 minutes travel time is still pretty good 🥹

Thank you for my medal MrsSD. If I can move tomorrow I will clean up and paint the tiny wall by decking and the back of the house window ledges. Want to get the decking done too. DH might help. He has not got any bowls all week so will need some exercise! 🤣

Moorviews - I don't expect C to have learnt better pastoral care - he seems oblivious to anything that he does incorrectly.
I have a tv on the wall in my lounge now. I had a visit from 7 family members this afternoon. The media shelf is on the wall and the dvd player is on it. However I don't have the cable that connects it to the tv screen. Youngest son O will bring one here when he does the school run on Tuesday. I felt exhausted when they all left. They did try to catch the mess when drilling holes in the wall and hoovered. I did need to hoover round in the lounge, craft room and kitchen as they had lunch here.
My last gnome that I finished before the photo uploading problem was Albert.

I spent most of the day pottering in the garden. Listed the gypsum on Freecycle and also bagged them up and left them in the front garden. I would be so delighted if they get taken one way or the other. It felt nice even getting them out of the temporary shed.
Day 18 of the Minimalist Game completed ( 171 items decluttered this month) .
Church followed by lunch with a friend tomorrow. I've got tomorrow's "minimalist game" banked from earlier in the week - but after that I'm back doing it in real time…😬
Have a lovely Sunday all ☀️
