could it be Mr V's slippers that are in part to blame?? I remember when MiL lived with us and when a nurse visited she mentioned that it was good that MiL had good quality slippers (skechers) that didn't fall off easily and were sturdy enough to support her foot. I know that sometimes when I've had falls and definitely when the OH has had them it's been down to not having the right footwear for the occasion. I make it a point now that if I'm going out to the garden I'll wear my sandals that strap on securely as I know how easy it is to stumble on the uneven lawn. We both have made the mistake of thinking "well I'm just going to the shed and back" or similar and end up flat on our bottoms.

vulpix - Mr F had many falls. He was sent to the hospital falls clinic. Not really much help. I think Mr F had always been clumsy - he had many broken bones as a youngster. He seemed to survive his later falls with just bruises
MadamMim2013 - I used the opportunity of DS being here with a car yesterday to offer him lots of stuff from my cupboards - I will never use the bits and can see what I have now there is less on a shelf.
I was collected before 9 this morning - it was our 140 years celebration of SA in the village. A former officer in charge came with her family. As usual at events - there is worry that we won't have enough food and then there is plenty and left over stuff for people to take away. We had a seated offering today - I was asked to do one side of the hall.
As we were leaving Church - one of our members A fell - she is 85 and suffering dementia. I dashed across to her and checked her over. and helped her into their car. I think her husband F was more shocked than her. We had been talking to F and a friend P who looked after a wife with memory loss was very understanding. F has had disturbed sleep recently while caring for A.
Yesterday I ate leftover bits from the family lunch so maintaining the challenge. Today I have leftovers from the Church event. I don't feel hungry yet - but slightly exhausted. I think I will have a lazy rest of the day. I did do a lot of work at the event. I saw someone with a fruit jelly so went and got one from the fridge - a soldier at my table said - I could eat one of those so I gave it to her. I got a second jelly from the kitchen and a friend said - I never saw those - I would have liked one so gave it to her. I said to the people in the kitchen when I went to get a third jelly - I am not eating them all!
I didn't get home until 2.45 and having changed out of formal uniform - I am going to just have a sit and do some knitting.
Decluttered - gravy boat, pestle & mortar, 2 stock pots/lids, fruit bowl, mini storage tubs/lids and storage baskets.

Since I've gone back to work doing my full hours just don't seem to have time to post.
I'm keeping on top of my emails as well as deleting photos.
Sells on ebay and vinted are going well and recycling used packaging.
My hairdryer has given up on me so I've got a new one and the old one I took to be recycled as well as 3 old tablets so they have all gone out.
Washing and ironing upto date, need to go though DS school uniform when he finishes on Thursday.
I have somethings to put on freegle
Think that's everything for now.

I'm doing a rubbish job of staying offline, but DH went back to the tip today with the rest of the stuff as we overfilled the car. He asked me in the morning "the car isn't very full, do you have anything else?". So i jumped up again and we did the garage and the shed. Maybe the very real deadline works for me! Sadly I don't intend on moving anytime soon, otherwise I would be much better at decluttering!
The kids then saw what we were doing and DD went in her room and filled a massive box of things she doesn't want anymore. DS got a box and mainly filled it with some papers (his room is still rammed), but all progress.
I'm decluttered out for today, but I suspect there is a lot more to go. I need to declutter the freezer, fridge and cupboards as I have too much food stashed. I'm sure there is more in the kitchen to go, but I find that a really difficult room, so it's going to be really slow. There is probably more to go in the loft too, but requires slightly more thinking time. Lots of stuff waiting to be used up (paper, gift wrap, cards, little packaging left now, bathroom supplies, food etc).

Decluttered 2 bags of ‘stuff’ to the charity shop then cruised round the art fair in town.
Came away with 2 postcard sized original seascape watercolours. I do love a moody seascape. Handily had frames for them already.✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅)

Teacher DGD A has just been here - brought 2 items of clothing for repairs and 2 items with stains for Nan to try and remove.
A looked at my rainbow drawers and said - I am looking online and they are quite expensive - want some for my classroom. I said to A - I have rainbow drawers you can have - 3 sets in the garage - I need to get in there and empty and sort the contents. Then I saw clear folders that I had never used - A has taken those.
A then said said she wants some baskets - I said - I have baskets so we went to the craft storage room and A has gone away with a pile of my colourful plastic baskets.
So good to get stuff out of the house and save her from buying stuff out of her own money. Her contract starts in September so she is not paid for the summer holiday as her previous contract ended on Friday.
Decluttered - chenille stems, clear folders, medium size plastic baskets and small size plastic baskets.

I woke up this morning with a message from someone off Freecycle asking about the gypsum. I messaged back and dragged the bags away from the front gate to tucked away behind the bins. 12 hours later she still hasn't messaged. I'd heard lots of stories of people not following through so it wasn't such a surprise. i've decided to stick with Freecycle for now - if they haven't moved by the end of the week I will try to find someone to take them to the tip for me - ideally someone who is strong as those bags are heavy!!
Had a "dodgy tummy" so didn't go for lunch today - came back from church and rested then more pottering in the garden - though the last hour was quite full on clearing rather than pottering - as I want to clear the back of the garden so I can get a new shed down there.
Managed to get some decluttering done inside and out of the house and had some banked so… . Day 19 of the minimalist game completed ( 190 items decluttered this month ) . @TC77 - it is quite pressured I have to admit - I've had to give myself a firm talking to so I don't get disappointed for not getting to day 31 (I won't) or start getting rid of things for the sake of it. i've noticed that I do better with most things if I "gamify" them but I can get a bit carried away. 😂

I have been very busy today but don't seem to have got anywhere. Lots of flakey paint decluttered from window ledges but I need to get the electric sander on them to make them smooth. Cleaned off and painted a low wall. Couldn't find the wood restorer that I was sure I had so have sanded down bench and left it for today. Sawed off the shooting sprouts from the old, supposed to be dead apple tree and removed the top of stump. Added weed killer and covered to protect the local cats..
I havnt actually finished one job but having written down my days work it doesn't sound too shabby now?😂

Thank you for my gold star Mrs SD. “Walking through treacle” is a very apt description, you are absolutely spot on!
@vulpix , thank you 😊I hope Mr V isn’t feeling too battered, an A&E nurse friend says that slippers and flip flops seem to account for a disproportionate amount of breaks and falls.
@MadamMim2013 , they are never “just a cat”, they are a member of the family.
@Moorviews , I am very much looking forward to more free time when this is all done!
The container is empty and my Dad’s garage is now full! We did a small bit of sorting stuff out and 5 bags went to the tip. DS1 and DS2 also sorted out their trains and track and condensed it down to two kallax cubes, which are staying at my Dad’s for them to use when they are there. I also started moving things round in the loft to allow more stuff to return, I did 20 minutes yesterday and 30 minutes today, it’s not a very big loft and is a bit low for DH, so my aim is for me to do a minimum of 15 minutes every day. One extra large Ikea bag of swimming rings and floats etc, rationalised into one bag for life. The rest are now in the car boot box. DH and I both hurt, he’s hurt his back and my hands and wrists are horrible, from so much lifting and carrying. My body has said no more big boxes for a while!!!
My new total is 122.5/208
Love to everyone xxx
