Poor DH. His brand new AC unit has decided to throw a hissy fit. Making a terrible “broken inside” noise. Thankfully, we hadn’t set the sitting room one up so we swapped them over. Now to wait on what the seller has to say. Never mind, these things are sent to try us.

Decluttered the chest freezer of some small crusty finger rolls and a baguette as they were freezer burnt and not very nice.

Sprayed all the yard weeds with white vinegar again, seems to be doing the job. I’ve got to find something I can manage to put between the slabs which will stop the weeds, they aren’t coming from below as we have 2 layers of membrane under the slabs, it’s the flipping birds dropping seeds and things. My thinking is if I fill in the gaps nothing will be able to grow.

I have been watching on You Tube - storage hoarders. The interior designer has some great ideas - expensive but could be copied at a lower budget.

I had never bought Ike. furniture before but my storage units and this table have turned out to be lovely. I also got a coat stand.

Today's meal. I decided to have the black pudding tomorrow.

Stepping stones up side of house along with brick wall between houses that needs a new coat of masonry paint have all been washed down with bleach water today. Hard work scrubbing all that but it does look a lot better. Hoping to prepare garden bench with wood restorer tomorrow that we have in the shed already. Trying not to buy anything until I have done all of the garden jobs that use what we already have. Visitors all week after next so will have to work on indoors a bit from Monday

Our house has been a bit neglected with all of this lovely weather. Still you can't do it all. Oil I found in cabinet still seems to be working on shoulder which allows me to do more.

@Florenceem I love the jug and lamp and wonderful agsinst the new wall colour.

@green_hopeful I will count my chairs, when I got rid of my big table it included 8 chairs and my dad's only had 6 but then brought another 4 ( 2 pairs) whixh may get passed on and wombled 2 left out which match 2 others I have :) also have a lloyd loom very heavy one with springs which may go and other lighter ones. Think less than 22 but mainly just me here !

3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Friday is another hot sunny day with fluffy white clouds in a blue sky & a forecast high of 28°C (feeling 2° warmer due to the light NNW breeze) & a low of 15°C I have been lazy yet again but did deal with today’s mail immediately. DH had a 2nd appointment at the opticians as last week there was a slight issue with one of the tests. To DH’s & my great relief,  the optician confirmed that everything is absolutely fine 😮‍💨 However to be on the safe side he will have check ups annually rather than every two years. Dinner was sea bass & boiled new potatoes for DH & me whilst DSis had ham & boiled new potatoes. Wudupa

QueenJess, I agree with Yorkie1, a great summary of some of the dilemmas that crop up when it comes to decluttering ☺️ More excellent decluttering 👏 & as you have exceeded 3,000 items a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way. I love your last idea “Maybe we should have a rotation system and we should all go round and declutter each others houses? It’d be so much easier than doing your own!” You might just have come up with the perfect solution 🙊

Roofers came yesterday and decluttered the guttering repair and added the new chimney cowls x 4 (no more bugs flying down the flue or birds nesting on the pots and cooing down the flue).

The rotten rafter board has also been repaired and a lead saddle put in place to stop it happening in the future. As per usual I learnt more about building techniques so I now know not only what they’ve done but how they’ve done it!!

It was nice as well as the company owner (78, knew Dad, also dropped by to check the work was going well and check it over).

All done by 2pm and possibly fuelled by coffee and pints of water which we once again got brownie points for. Apparently lots of their ‘posh’ customers don’t even think to offer them a cuppa where ours get use of the loo and fridge if needed.
