Hi all,
@Florenceem - muffins looked yummy!
I'm at home on the couch watching a podcast, got a flexi day off work so met my friend for a belated birthday breakfast date and a catch up. Picked up some books and wee knick knacks for my nephew.
I'm going to finish my book today - Dracula - then I'll pick my next one from the book shelf.

Wednesday, as previously stated it rained early a.m. but is now bright & sunny with a forecast high of 12°C (-4° due to W wind) & a low of 7°C. DH & DSis have just set off (12:20) for Battlesbridge - their first visit of the year. Whilst they were out I descaled the kettle. They got back about ….. having stopped off at the local sm. DSis didn’t find anything of interest to buy in Battlesbridge so she & DH are talking about a trip to the seaside next month & I have been invited along 😉 Dinner will be fried chicken pieces, boiled new potatoes & peas.469 - 472 Kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers, drinks cans - recycled

London_1, another busy few days in the pipeline 😊 Great decluttering of yarn 👏 How lovely to make a new friend🥹 A belated happy birthday to DGD 🎂🥳 hope she had a lovely day yesterday 🤞I will keep everything crossed that the U3A talk “How we are all doomed” is about Dad’s Army 😉🤞 Not surprised that the dogs don’t like running around in wet grass although I had to smile at the idea that little dog loves running into the sea 😊
Brambling, how typical that the PTB are now procrastinating about your EF’s care 😞 Hopefully with your advocacy & the SW’s report, everything will go ahead as agreed 🙏 especially as your EF appears to be fully onboard with the idea that she requires permanent care 🥹 Enjoy your new towels 😊
TC77, pleased to hear that the furniture from your Dad’s house has finally been delivered 😊 You can start the planning process - which should be far easier as you now have everything in your house & can see how things will look 😊 I rather like the idea of your bombproof filing cabinet 😊 I am with you as part of the possibly very small club of people who are “excited by the idea of filing physical papers….”
Floss, meeting BF for coffee sounds far more enjoyable than sorting the bin-shed 😉
Excellent decluttering Moorviews 👏 Sorry to hear about MrMV’s particularly unpleasant relative 😟 sounds very stressful 😥 so I can understand your reluctance to dispose of paperwork ☹️ Good luck with decluttering emails 🍀 hopefully you can get into a rhythm with additional decluttering on a daily basis 🙏
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Those muffins look yummy 😋 Gentle cwtches on their way 🤗
London_1, fingers crossed that you can find a suitable filing cabinet & a Rummikub set 🤞 Stitch & Bi**ch sounds thoroughly enjoyable 😊
GrannyKate, hopefully there will be no further upgrades for a while 🤞 Gentle cwtches for both you & your sister-in-law 🤗
Excellent work sewing up & hanging the curtains vulpix 👏 Both you & your ‘cleaning lady’ have done a remarkable job with the decorating 🥳 Please be careful putting the bedroom furniture back 🙏Good luck with the deep cleaning 🍀
florianatwobob, may I ask how you found your oven cleaning chap?
_Dolly_Rocker_, I remember flexi days 😊 Pleased to hear you enjoyed yours 😊
Hope everyone has had as good a day as possible 😊 See you later 👋

Evening chums
Been a funny day today, neither one thing nor the other. Started bright and sunny, then rained, then sunny, then cold, bit more rain and now it’s dark.
Got the whites and lights on the two airers. Washed the darks at tea time in the hope of getting them out on the lines tomorrow.
Yes @Mrs_Salad_Dodger bills are all paid now until April which seems very very close. Dentist was fine, got to have 2 extractions as they are super wobbly but nothing major. My own fault as, in my youth, I was a glutton for Trebor mints, polos and extra strong mints and I am a cruncher. Used to go through packets daily.
On a frugal front, I shall be making my own chicken and beef stock cubes from now on. Can’t believe how easy it is and no nasty stuff included. Plus as a lady of a certain age. I am making the move over to washable pads: buy once and use until they fall to pieces. The way that prices are rising is frightening so some changes and belt tightening have got to be made. I am keeping an eye for anything else I can do to reduce the amount we’re spending.Have a good evening all, sweet dreams xx

I have had a busy day - feeling weary now.
I posted grandson's Birthday card then headed to the bus stop. A voice behind me asked - where are you going shopping - I replied - Lid. and lady said my car is just up the road - I am going that way so I will get the car and pick you up. I put my shopping trolley on the back seat and went to get in the front seat. By this time another woman had arrived at the bus stop - she was asked where she was going - so she got in the back of the car with my trolley. What a kind lady to save us standing in the cold waiting for a bus.
After Lid. - I got a bus to Dunhel. - that was a palaver as they said only 3 items to collect. I found another order on my phone so they fetched it. The assistant put my name in the machine and nothing came up to be collected. I was thinking - I am sure I ordered 2 sheets, 2 duvet sets and a set of mats. Eventually my order no 5 was found.
After cake and tea at home I went into town. I paid the rest of the kitchen blind money - woman thinks my bedroom blind may arrive next week.
I had taken some of Mil's rings with me to take to the jeweller - it was closed.
I did collect a duvet from As.. on the way home. So now I have all the bedding for a bed which I don't have - in a room which is being used as a store room as I decorate the rest of the house.
I have been emptying more stuff from my craft room into the garage and up into the store room.
A Freegler came for the mirror this afternoon but no takers for the chairs.
Decluttered today - 2 foil dishes, 2 tubs of lavender, paint palette, gem hot tool, 2 packaging bags, tub of glass beads, wipe x 2, paints, reel of twine, pack of feathers, paper mache pencil case x 3, set of boxes, mini easel stand x 2, knitting dolly, nailbrush, pot of candle coloured minerals, pack of sponges, baby bottle, battery, metal lantern, paper mache letter, mirror, metal bucket x 2, aluminium pieces, 6 tubs of decorative coloured sand, bookcase, cupboard unit, tiny pots of paint and lots of dust bunnies.

Well Mrs SD I literally found him as his company had done my neighbour’s oven ‘a while ago’ and I then did some internet stalking and they use traditional elbow grease & eco friendly cleaning products which makes sense on so many levels.
As to how I ‘found’ him’. He was a man of few words and much vigour! I was definitely not getting brownie points for being a domestic goddess, possibly even demotion for being a domestic slattern.

Good evening everyone. 🙋♀️
I'm still here but I really can't figure out where the time is disappearing to. I seem to fill my days but when I get to the end of a day I'm pushed to remember what I've actually done. I think it's just overload.
But, today was actually dry so I worked for 6 hours in the garden. I managed a day and a half last week too when the rain again stopped. As a result, all 7 of my garden waste bags are on the drive ready for emptying on Friday. 😁 Mostly they are filled with yet more bramble and briar. I've finally been able to site the 13th, and final, (for the foreseeable future), raised bed and today I finished filling that one and planted it with the 'all season' strawberry collection that I got before Christmas. It's going to be another of those I wonder if I'm going to move tomorrow nights. 🤣
The strawberry bed. The bottom garden is beginning to look as though it could one day be a garden. The pile of brash back left is all that remains of the 6ft high pile that was there before. I might get that into the garden waste bags for the following collection in a fortnight. There are still bramble roots to dig out from the pathways between the raised beds and a lot of leveling out of the pathways. I feel I'm getting to where I should have been a year ago if I hadn't ended up with all the mobility issues I had last year. But it is getting there and that's the important bit to focus on. 😁
Decluttering isn't going too well per se. Stuff has been coming in such as the garden manure and plywood to block a window opening. I was going to get rid of an old, tall, dark brown, CD rack from the Swedish store that had been damaged during the move but…. Instead, while I was pondering the price of a 2.5 m piece of wood to replace a shelf in the toolshed and a 1.5m shelf for the kitchen I remembered I had oodles of white paint and a chop saw. Said CD rack was dismantled and the requisite length cut for the kitchen. It didn't need cutting for the toolshed. By the weekend all painting should have been done and hardened enough that the toolshed piece can go to the shed and await a dry week when I can empty out the shed and get the shelf up. I might get the kitchen shelf up this weekend depending on what the wall is like and whether I can clear the kitchen enough to drill the holes required for the brackets. 🤣
Lots of money decluttered over the last month. Not just vet bills but it's the anniversary month of me moving in so things like house insurance and TV licence all came up for renewal. 😱
Tomorrow is knit and natter; I skipped last week because it wasn't raining and I needed to get on with the garden.
The frog I kicked off a few weeks back isn't going away. I'm pondering when to give it a nudge without seeming too pushy. It's annoying as it means I'm continually on edge wondering if they are going to phone and have had to hold off doing things in the house as well as I can't have stuff blocking the assessors when they come round to see if they can help with insulation etc.. What I need to do is fill my days with appointments and then I expect sod's law will mean they call and want to come at those times. 🤣🤣Everyone has been doing so well with their decluttering. While I haven't got much out of the door I am reviewing and collating stuff. Next I need to really work on getting it gone! Hopefully I will find that easier once I'm not running round trying to plant seeds and pot on stuff and weed and create a garden and renovate and all the other things we all do in day to day life that we all keep forgetting about. Afterall, running a house is a full time job before you have to start making time to do all the extra bits. 😁
So well done to everyone and hugs to those who want them. Dxx

De-scaled the kettle and the filter in the spout fell apart. Will have to investigate as to whether it is possible to get a new one.
10 minutes of weeding done - it’s all I can manage and it’s better than nothing.
Only ordered what I actually needed from sm, toiletries place and whole foods place. Am arguing in my head about getting extras for Easter that I don’t actually need.
Continuing uu consumables and clearing papers.
