Friday continued. Whilst making my coffee I did the little bit of washing up & then before settling down to continue cheerleading I put a new black bag in the wheelie bin. DH & DSis got back 15:45. Fairly uneventful journeys - 3 buses there & 2 buses back + a 5 minute walk. Of course DSis is having trouble seeing as she had eye drops. I made hot drinks for them as they were both rather chilly. DH has made himself a roll with the last of the turkey & DSis is cooking a couple of shop bought wraps. Very adventurous of her 😊 so I do hope they taste nice 🙏 Back to the cheerleading 🙂
Lovely to see you Brie 👋 I have made a note of your 2026 aims & look forward to following your progress ☺️
Welcome back Foofoopuppy 👋 Well done on being another member of the MDC 👏 How exciting to be planning a house move 😊 Remembering how ‘curious’ I am, have you found anywhere yet or are you still looking? Hopefully being in the MDC will mean that your packing will be relatively easy 🤞 Good luck in your quest to use up food & drink 🍀
So lovely to see you weenancyinAmerica 👋 Not too sure how many items would be on my Good Intentions List (if I ever get around to writing one 😉) but I am positive there would be more than 70 & many of them would be at least 5 years old if not older 😟 Just wondering if there are any on the list that could be delegated to your roommates 🤔 ………. ignore me, if they haven’t helped yet it is unlikely that 2026 will be any different 😞 Just wondering if it was always your intention to become a professional Genealogist? Apologies, I have my curious head on 😉 Good luck reconciling the two files 🍀 Please, please be careful cleaning house 🙏
That is the 2nd page finished 😊 I have decided to post each time I finish a page, hopefully I will catch up by the middle of the month 😉😉

I'm not sure whether I'm depressed or heartened by this thread!Depressed because it reminds me of what I need to do.Heartened because I AM NOT ALONE! ;-)On my landing there are two large boxes of books which have been there since I got the Christmas decorations out of the loft. They constitute a collection of Teaching English as a Foreign Language and also teaching theory books including handy photocopiables for ready lessons. I could dump them at a specialist book charity shop but they do have a value to them and a post Christmas bonus would be very handy. Ideas anybody?24

Hello, may I join you here? I am very excited to finally do a real declutter. Both DH and I are committed to sorting it this year. We have enough space, just too much stuff. I gave sorted 3 small drawers today and am on to my bag if electrical wires now. We all had new super duper USBc cables in our stocking with USB adapters so apart from my Kindle and Garmin watch everything else will be redundant! That's the plan anyway.21

Kitchen counter partly cleared. Thanks have to go to my partner who helped.
Have also started on another kitchen cupboard and made a cake out of "stuff" that needed using up.
Two items from barn into recycling.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!19 -
Oh my goodness. What have I started.4 bags of clothes too small for the kids. So they’ll need to go on the school uniform swap page to be given away and/or listed on Vinted. If they don’t leave the house after a bit they move to the charity shop pile.I have a small pile of things for the charity shop. And MORE boxes to go.I’m at that stage where I just feel like I’m creating piles, piles and more piles!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. December 25 - 40.34%/33.36%

MadamMim2013, so pleased you love the new subtitle 😊 Redistribution sounds so much more positive than Decluttering ☺️ I love that you are putting your Mum first & helping her to ‘redistribute’ especially as she has expressed an interest 🥹 Hopefully striking while the iron is hot will mean that she will have plenty of enthusiasm for the task at hand 🙏 Although I do understand where she is coming from - Justin has a lot to answer for 😞 Good luck 🍀 & I will be making awards as helping your Mum to “rehome things” will hopefully lead to you decluttering worry about her living conditions 🥹
boultdj, thanks for This “MadamMim2013 do the pull test on the wool, if it parts with a sharp pull then the wool needs throwing away as it will not knit up well, we had to get rid of 6 bin bags of wool when my gran died, she saved every last scrap of it going back to the 70's.” 👏 Such a shame that so much wool had to be thrown away 😢 A great tip which merits a medal 🏅 as it will save so much hassle in the long run 😮💨
MadamMim2013, fingers crossed that the vacuum packed wool withstands the testing 🤞
Welcome aboard the EDT Ms_Potato_Head 👋 Lovely to meet you. Congratulations on moving house 👏 hard work at the best of times but 10 days or so before Christmas is especially fraught 😥 Absolutely no need to reside in the Baggage Car, please just make your way straight to the buffet car where you will find a whole group of fellow Declutterati to chat to ☺️ You can compare notes, pick up a few ideas, make plans, all whilst partaking of the hm goodies 😊 I look forward to following your progress ☺️
Welcome back tiddles 👋 First things first….. congratulations on decluttering so much in 2025 🥳 which leads me nicely into awarding you TWO more Gold Stars ⭐️⭐️ for 2025 - I have also updated the Awards list on the 2025 Decluttering thread. Secondly I have made a note of your new target & wish you every success ☺️
Welcome back suzeesu2000 😊
Lovely to see you Brambling 😊 I hope you are now fully recovered from your op 🙏 & are raring to go 😊 Good luck dealing with your household frogs 🍀 When I read This “I need to get organised for 2026 and want a tidy house when I have work men in to make a mess!!!” I laughed out loud 🤣
I was trying so hard to get to the end of another page but am flagging 😞 So I will post this & hopefully come back later after some brain food 🙊

Today has been a busy day.Decluttered my trip to the beautician and £20 along with it. I am now much less fuzzy
A friend’s birthday pressie wrapped, card written and DIY tag from the cut up Christmas cards used. The pressie was actually a Christmas pressie given to DSis which she won’t use but will be appreciated by the new recipient. I’ve bought it off DSis so she can put the money to something else she will use.
Decorations down, wrapped and boxed and the tree back out to the shed. It was getting very cold and dark so we’ll take the decorations out tomorrow when we can see what we’re doing.Dropped the Ziffit parcel off at the collection lockers.I feel an urge to wipe everything down including the skirting boards but that’ll wait until tomorrow.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

No worries - today I've made an apple and blackberry crumble (served either with cream or hm ice cream) and a massive glut of leek and potato soup to go with some freshly baked rolls. Grab them whilst they are hot.I'm so glad that people recognise the savings device I posted. My mind did boggle for a while thinking about how it just wouldn't work today as most the time you are forced to use cards or direct debits. I often struggle using cash.@lindoz - I love the room of non-requirement. Made me chuckle
Not much decluttering today, although I continue to work through my stashes slowly. I did go through and delete some extra notes on my phone though:6 - notes deletedNew total 8

I need to get on the train and stay in the TLC carriage for awhile. Only the second day of the year and I am so depressed I still haven't eaten breakfast after 5 hours. I have fed the cats, made lots of phone calls for my roommate G who is in the hospital, and had a cup of tea. And I did talk roommate J into taking out the kitchen trash. Roommate Di's nurse is expected in a few minutes and she hasn't even gotten up yet.
I refuse to go shopping until I clean out the refrigerator so I may be eating a strange combination of things for a few days. I can only clean a little bit at a time as I can't stand up more than two minutes and sitting down in front of the open refrigerator isn't working too well. There are green and black things in the refrigerator.
I am determined to declutter a lot in the next few days. Then I can start working on my to-do list. No room to do anything at the moment.
