Thank you Moorviews. Pleased to hear you are interested in my house renovation. Mrs SD requested updates so when it just gets too dull you know who to blame.🤣
Goodness I over estimated my abilities today. All knitting of kids jumpers complete and some sewing up done.
DD1 came to do a run, only 9 miles today! She is off to see her brother and family tomorrow without the jumpers. The family are coming to stay in about 3 weeks anyway. I still need to mend Ds's jacket he brought last time they visited. No curtain sewing done at all.
We are out for lunch tomorrow with friends but I will press on with the jumpers whilst Mr V is at work in the evening.
There is a lot to do before we are overnight visitor ready in 3 weeks. The front bedroom is very close to being ready for carpet on Wednesday. I would like to have our room decorated and put back together before the visit too. I work better under pressure.😉
Nothing decluttered but I have washed 4 throws off the old sofas for the charity shop. Oh yeah 2 sofas and 2 side tables sold. New to me sofa delivered, very comfortable. They did knock a radiator shelf off the wall in the hall bringing it in. Another job on the to do list.

Saturday continued: we left home 14:10 & arrived at the hotel in Coleshill, near Birmingham at 17:35 having stopped for a comfort break & had a coffee each & shared a toasted cheese & tomato sandwich + a rather odd tasting bakewell tart made with cherry jam. We had some rain on the way & it was damp when we arrived. DH had a shower & we both got changed before heading down to dinner at 18:20. We had a lovely evening - the food was excellent as was the company (8 people per table) Menu - a salmon rose & a bread roll for me, chicken kebab for DH followed by sausage & bean pot with boiled rice, carrots & green beans for me & rib of beef with roast potatoes, carrots & beans for DH. To finish I had rhubarb crumble & ice cream whilst DH had a chocolate torte with cream. Delicious 🤤 Coffee was served & the presentation of awards went ahead. Quite a few people managed to earn a 100% All Rounder award. The rest of the evening was spent chatting & laughing. Finally left the dining room at 23:15 & we were in bed by 23:30. I checked the result of the Curling ☹️I will catch up with the cheerleading when I get home tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone 😴

More catching up the reading pile and a few other papers into recycling. A cleaning product uu.

Good morning chums, another wet and windy day here at the moment :( nothing new really its been an extremely very wet winter
Eldest DD has had builders in replacing her windows as they were leaded ones, and the lead was starting to go. So she has been knee deep intrying to keep things clean and tidy. She's a bit like me in that she hates mess.
Her OH took her down to Dover for a couple of nights on Friday for a break. They have a caravan at Deal but the site isn't open just yet, but they like Dover and Deal even in the rain ! ! So they stayed in an hotel they have stayed in before in the winter
I spent most of the week ferrying the two DGS here and there and feeding them :) golly I forgot what hollow legs they have :) But we had a nice few days and 'Ta Dah' ! DGS Jack completed the Killer jigsaw :) Bless him, he even phoned his cousin Holly to say it was done, as she had tried when visiting and said 'give it up Nanny its just too hard' Jack and his cousin get along really well but they are both competitive when it comes to jigsaws I don't know if its because they are both teachers :) :) :)
DGD Holly rang later to say her and her fiancee have set the day for August 2027 so plenty of time to sort out getting all of us to Sittingbourne where they are getting wed. I'm really pleased for her as he first marriage ended so badly (He went off with someone else, turned out he was a bit of a player.)
She was heartbroken, and said that was it with men :) :) :) then about a year later went out as just a friend, with her big brothers best mate whom he went to school with, and she had known since she was about 11. He too had been in a bad breakup so they were friends for ages, which slowly turned to something more as time went on. I'm so pleased as she is a nice lass and deserves some happiness after the past few years
Yesterday as the boys were going back home to the mainland, as their half term was finishing
I started sewing together some crocheted squares for someone. I have 70 to sew together, and so far have managed 50, with 20 more to do today, then I will knit a border all around
The lady I'm doing it for has no idea, its a present from our knit and natter group and everyone has contributed with the squares all different colours and its looking really nice and bright and cheery. The border will take a good few days to do as its quite a big throw but it will finish it off nicely.
Games afternoon in Newport tomorrow so Cribbage for me with my two fellow players. Tuesday is U3A Ryde coffee morning then Wednesday knit and natter group.
DGS Ben wants me to knit him a warm jumper for going fishing in, and I found a nice pattern that he liked. I've taken his measurements, and will look in Isle of Wool in Ryde on Wednesday to see if I can find the colours to match the pattern The pattern is a 'Paton and Baldwin' one but no suppliers for their wool on the Island so I will knit it in a double knit, but will actually do a tension square to make sure it is ok for sizing.
If it looks OK I will do one for DGS Jack as well as he too likes to go fishing.
DGS Henry is in Copenhagen for the weekend with his girlfriend and he sent some photos, and its extremely cold there and the canal had frozen over but he said its a beautiful city.
DGS Mikey is knee deep in his dissertation for Uni, as he finishes in May at Essex .Its just flown by, and I can't believe that all four boys now will have finished in education. DGS Jack is 26 on Tuesday and it only seems five minutes ago he was toddling around in his babygrows. :) He is now a housemaster, and teaches RE at a boarding school in Kent. Time literally flies by.
Right well time to get a wriggle on, and get stitching the rest of those squares together.
i hope everyone has a good week and stays dry and warm, the forecast here says tuesday and wednesday dry but who knows :) :) :)
Cheers chums

hellooooooo!
I have been away on a work thing for a few days which was good although long. Been catching up on sleep with Rogan practically on top of me and tummy has decided that it needs to reject everything so a bit poorly too.
Never mind. Gonna have a long shower and get stuff ready for work then relax on the settee.
Nice to hear all your news

Hi all.
Still here and still plodding along. I had such plans during this half term but I chose self care instead! I find clearing easier if I have to fit it in, rather than dedicating days to it. Little and often (hopefully) will work for me.
I have spent a lot of this week with friends and Grandchildren, and sent them all home with different things!
Back into work mode today, Done a couple of hours at one of my jobs, did the food shop after and then have sent off Invoices to clients for the next 5 weeks. I have hours of Policy reading to do but i get bored easily, so am off to cook a roast dinner instead.
Take care
