The PC broke within 30 days, hence I am entitled to a replacement unit or a refund. But clearly any such refund needs to be commensurate with the overall increase in prices which have occurred over the past 6 weeks.
£1800 on a PC shows you have enough money.
Something doesn't add up - they don't have the part in stock (whatever it may be) and yet can build one for next day delivery.
So when they said they would have to build a replacement what did you say? Or did they say that it would take longer than a day to build?
I highly suspect with everything that's gone on here that the seller might just want to refund and get you gone.1 -

Under your consumer rights you are only entitled to a refund of what you paid.
The rather clumsy wording of s20 Short term right to reject says:The consumer's entitlement to receive a refund works as follows: To the extent that the consumer paid money under the contract, the consumer is entitled to receive back the same amount of money.
You might also be also able to claim other stuff such as loss of bargain but that would be under different legislation3 -
Due to the fact they don't have any of these PCs in stock he cannot give me an ETA of when my replacement will be shipped out.visidigi said:[Deleted User] said:

So your option therefore is wait it out, or have a refund, which will be a refund to return you to the state you were in before the purchase, not betterment. Do they have any similar spec machines in stock that you could switch to?
You have options to take it further post refund, and that's up to you, but with a market as volatile a PC parts etc - I wouldn't want to put odds on your winning - I mean this works both ways right...you buy now its expensive, in six months it could be cheaper, you want a new machine and a refund to the current price...that doesn't happen, why you think it should in reverse is lost on me.0
