Well I've just had to defrost nearly everything ready to cook as I left most of today dinner in the freezer. Luckily the turkey was in the fridge.. But it was mainly the vegetables that needed slow defrosting in the microwave. But no gammon as that is frozen solid 😕
And now I've had everything happen that can possibly happen over the past three days, so I'm now going to enjoy the day. XxxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024, 2025 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️🏅⭐️

The turkey has been in the oven a while. The parsnips and cauliflower cheese have just gone in. The wine is in the fridge. The table is laid. Christmas music is on the telly. I have a pile of lovely gifts under the tree.
Roasties and pigs in blankets to go in when the turkey comes out to rest. Veggies will be on the hob. Ooo. Gravy.
I've WUDUPA, hoovered LR, unearthed the sofa and hoovered it. DS and DDil have been informed that I'm aiming for lunch on the table at 1pm.
This is the first time I've spent Christmas Day at home / cooked Christmas Dinner. After an initial wobble I'm actually enjoying myself.
I'll make the grade as a Flylady yet 😉

Good afternoon ladies, Merry Christmas.
Thank you very much to my secret santa, that present will be very useful for when I'm at the stables and even when doing some of my work.
The only flying I'm doing today is to keep the living room tidy, collect up rubbish and make the festive dinner. Other than these few tasks, I will be spending quality time with family.9 -
Hello all
Hipe you're having a stress-free day and spending time with those who matter most.
Thank you secret Santa for my gift ... perfect for when I've been doing a job in the garden
and resting afterwrds and reflecting a lifelong love of a certain pet - which are, incidentally benefitting from veg trimmings.
We've had a family breakfast - eggs benedict or eggs royale and DS poached as a chef trained him in that particular dark art and I LOE a properly-poached egg.
Prepped veggies are ready to go on, the table is laid.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Happy Christmas everyone and thank you Secret Santa, beautiful colours.
We had a good journey down, 2 Happy visits to Mum in the care home, 1 Christingle service, 1 Christmas Day service and too much food - not fully mitigated by a walk.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Thank you to my Secret Santa for my gift. I've decided they must've been reading my mind as I was going to get one after Christmas 😘
Hope everyone has had a lovely day and are having a lovely sit down with their family/friends while watching TV or playing games etc....
Round we're all proud of you cooking your first Christmas dinner. And you've definitely made the Flylady grade 😃😃Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024, 2025 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️🏅⭐️

Hi all
Lovely day with the family, DH did a great job of cooking but there was waay too much food and the DW has been on 3 times. In the midst of trying to restore some sort of order in the kitchen DS2 came in with his new coffee machine (gift from his brother) to set it up and try it out. DSs GF followed and asked if I needed any help, I sort of huffed which wasn't directed at her and she walked off and was then a bit funny with me. I should have sorted it out straight away but didn't and then felt bad. Silly I know, I am sure she didn't take it to heart.
Spoken to family who I haven't seen, kitchen is finally put to rights, leftovers squeezed into fridge, DS1 and GF have gone off to her parents and PJs are on.
Happy Christmas dear Fly lady friends, love and peace to you all.7 -
Thank you Natty xx
DS and DDil cleared their plates and went back for seconds.
I enjoyed cooking the meal, and I've loved spending Christmas Day at home for the first time since 1986 - when I still lived with my parents. I've decided that's my modus operandi from now on and already invited DS and DDil for Christmas Dinner next year.
All the wrapping paper has been bagged up and binned, cardboard has been recycled, and gift bags have been stashed to be used next year.
Quiet day at home alone planned for tomorrow. Then I've invited a friend over for tea on Saturday. I said I wasn't going to cook but I think I might. We'll see.
Enjoy your evening my lovelies.

Morning all. Seems like you all had a lovely Christmas Day.
It was just me and DH here and we had a lovely day. Today was supposed to be family here but as DGD1 is unwell, we're popping to their house now for lunch. Cake to take with us is just out of the oven.
Tomorrow, family are due here again but they also have some illness so we'll see how it goes.
Wordle in four, mini crossword in 1 minute 23 seconds, strands with no hints. Haven't tackled connections yet.
Have a great Boxing Day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all, and well done to flylady supremo Round for cooking her first Christmas dinner.
I hope you all had a lovely day, as did we. It was just the three of us, but that suits me fine. Less people to hear my choice words when the lunch was going to plan until I messed up the gravy. Twice. Ah well, third time lucky. Everything was tidied and WUDUPA before watching the Muppets Christmas Carol. HB I meant to drop by on Christmas Eve to second your post, totally forgot as I tackled the ironing pile instead - beyond the call of duty, but made me feel virtuous.
Today we are seeing DSIS, BiL and niece and nephew plus partners. We only all meet up once a year, which strangely puts way too much significance on the day for my liking.I hope you all have a restful day, spending it with or how you choose, if only for a short time x7
