Well said Honey_Bear
Lovely lunch and natter with my sister - we are aiming to 'meet in the middle' and have lunches every so often as its 45 minutes or so travelling time between our homes. Which reminds me I was mildly irritated to get a card for her posted to mine on the assumption we would be meeting. Cards have been exchanged. We are going to hers on Sunday though.
I also went to Mr M for last bits - no cheap veg, all sold out but I got sprouts from M&S when I went to pick up the xmas order. Decided the potatoes weren't enough so went back in and bought some and then had to go in again for something for DD's tea as I had bought a YS salad bowl.
Lunch out today with my very dear friends.
Ta for the heads up Iona - might not be the cable - the one I borrowed from DD worked once but it's dead again. I suspect the battery.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Well said HB. My toaster isn't shiny.
Work is quiet and as I wfh I hav3 taken the opportunity to sort out the grandchildren's room. Just one bag of craft materials to sort through now. I have got rid of all the play dough, a game that's annoying and a couple of books that had been read so much they were falling apart despite our repairs.
Wordle in two! No lines on connections and strands with no hints.
As this afternoon will be quiet too, I will sort out the filing cabinet in my office.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Afternoon all. Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone because most of you won't have time to be on here tomorrow.I cooked the turkey this morning (DD1's dog re-enacted the Bisto Kid) and then sorted it all out. Frees up the oven for tomorrow and stops me getting stressed out. Even though it's just us two and nobody else cares. All the pressure comes from myself...Anyway, hope everyone has a good time x9

i've done some tidying in the room we call HQ. It's a sort of office, storage space, where our book shelves are etc and it has the ability to mess itself up at every opportunity. I might re-organise some of the storage after Christmas but for now it looks much better.
i've done another freezer inventory as I didn't keep the last one up to date which defeats the object. There are component parts for lots of meals in January.
happy Christmas everyone!

I think I’ve accidentally hit report instead of thanks on this post. Please ignore me. SorryHoney_Bear said:I managed to catch the last collection on Monday evening with my Christmas cards in the end, so they're all written, posted and delivered locally where appropriate. In the end it didn't take that long, but I do wish I'd had the time and energy to do it at least a couple of weeks earlier so that I could feel the joy of it, rather than feel beleaguered for a whole fortnight and guilt every time a card plopped on the mat because I wasn't sure they would ever get written.Which brings me on to today. I know it doesn't matter if I don't do everything on my To Do list; there's absolutely nothing that matters other than putting some food on the table tomorrow afternoon for us and a pair of neighbours. Belovéd is in charge of the turkey and I'm doing all the rest, which as most of the rest is already prepped and in the freezer, fridge, packets and jars isn't that big a deal. But I do feel that there's a mountain of stuff I actually would like done before then and I'm pretty much run down energy-wise, and overwhelmed by it all. I absolutely know I'm not the only person who will be feeling this, which is why I'm saying it on here. I'm not unhappy about it, just sick of feeling I haven't been able to do everything I wanted to do for this Christmas.Note To Self and Everyone Who Feels This Way (including myself) - whatever we do Absolutely Is Enough. No-one else cares if there's dust on the sideboard, no-one else cares if the kitchen floor has dust bunnies because the cats and dog shed every hour of every day because the central heating's on, and if anyone judges us and finds us wanting - they are the problem, not us and our houses. They're jolly lucky to have been invited into warm houses with plenty to eat and drink. There are enough people who are lonely, sad, newly bereaved, feeling the pinch financially, and facing health problems, worried or depressed, without those of us who have none of those problems beating ourselves up because we didn't make the toaster shine. And all I ask is that we are all allowed to make merry and enjoy the experience of Christmas, and that includes by ourselves. We are enough as we are.6 -
Merry Christmas to you all xx

Good morning All Flyladies!Merry Christmas one and all.I was mostly letting of steam yesterday with my post because I knew I couldn't do all the things I wanted done in the time left, but downloading my angst here really helped me. Having done so, I really enjoyed doing what I could maange in the time available and had a really good day, after waking up feeling very frazzled and down. There's a certain magic to being a Flylady - I always feel better having read what others are doing, or not doing for whatever reason. Yesterday was the first day I felt human after that awful cold Belovéd and I had, and this morning I woke up early, dealt with the animals and feel as though I've had a lovely lie in. Much better. Thank you all for being you.I hope everyone has a lovely day.Better is good enough.8
