Catching up, glad you had a lovely day - may you have a lovely birthday weekend.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I am glad to hear that you had a great birthday. Fingers crossed the newbie will be gone soon. Enjoy your weekend.π

Afternoon all,
We've already been to town and back and bought one wedding ring π π DP -not mine. We went round every jewellers comparing shapes, sizes, etc and DP found one he liked. I was having a bit more trouble as my engagement ring is an odd shape and I want one to fit around it. DP fave was Β£1800 π± but as we aren't spending a lot on the wedding I said choose your favourite and nevermind the price. Anyhow he found a favourite design so we were comparing prices as we went round (all the while I tried on every ring in every shop π€£ and still found nothing) Β£1400 was the cheapest we found for his favourite...then in the very last shop we were shown a ring that wasn't platinum but palladium instead. It was much nicer than the platinum one and DP and I preferred the design so we opted for that- the price difference was huge! Over a grand less than the most expensive one he liked, so we ended up being very MSE without even realising it π€£ ...I'm still on the hunt and I am considering getting a bespoke one made to fit next to the engagement ring.
Shopping is due soon and the second wash of the day is already on. Not much else to do today which is nice. π

Thanks @Jessy103 π
Well we finished going round shops to look at rings after the shopping arrived and decided to go back and get the bespoke ring measured and sent off for. I did try a local jewellers that makes their own but they really weren't very helpful and I felt like they just wanted me out of the shop as they kept telling me they had nothing for me π€, which is odd as we were prepared to spend a lot of money. Perhaps it was my scruffy day off look that did it π. I took that as a sign to just go get It from the larger chain jewellers instead. I want it to fit snugly around the engagement ring so needed a specific shape. Thankfully we saved on DP ring, because the bespoke one is expensive π΅βπ« I think it will be worth it though and just what I'm after ππ. And oddly It was only Β£200 more than one that was off the peg and was second best choice but not really right. It can take a couple of months to come back and we've been told we can have a discount too so it would work out cheaper than the local designer after all *shrugs shoulders* their loss, not mine, after all π two good discounts today equating to well over a grand and a half so DP and I are happy enough.
I made a new dish to use this evening, pasta chuna and sweetcorn (chickpea 'tuna') I kinda made the recipe up a bit as the one I found online I didn't have all the ingredients for. It tasted great though and a fishy enough taste for us to believe it was pasta tuna sweetcorn π.
We spent the grand sum of Β£1 on four dvds and a cd in town and watched two of the dvds this afternoon/ evening - much cheaper than cinema and also I got to wear pjs and a nightgown and put my feet up and eat cake. ππ Cheap afternoons entertainment.
A nice and productive day really. I still need a nice dress for the wedding but I'll do that over the next few weekends I think. Am getting something that can be worn again and just makes me feel good as I haven't lost a single lb and am not feeling the best about myself atm. Am also considering photographs... wondering whether to get disposables (do they still do them?) for a bit of a laugh or whether to ask people coming to just take action pics for us if they want to and send them over if any good. I know everyone has their phones on them and takes pics so that might be easier. Don't really plan on organising much else is that bad? π€£ - a pretty dress, rings we love, some pictures were all I had on my list really. Hair and makeup I'll probably just do myself. I'll probably also need to pay for DD dress. Am I missing something else that's basic π€...?We need to give notice in a few weeks and then we are basically all set on that part (the most important part). Easiest wedding planning ever. π
Right off to read and then hopefully a good night's sleep.

The most important part is the legalities and you two, anything else is just extras π sounds like it will be a lovely day, its the marriage rather than the wedding that counts and I think it sounds like you are both very happy with each other so you've got thst ticked off π
