Morning all, I'm in work on a quick break, I've had balloons and cards and cake already at work and cards and presents at home 🥰 I've also had a chat with my manager and newbie has not resigned but she did lie about what I said to her yesterday. She said she was struggling to fit everything in and I tried to empathise and said I'm struggling with energy on full time. She took what I said and tried to make a case without me there that she was best placed in MY job and me in hers 🙂 yes really, she twisted absolutely everything I said. Anyway I said no I didn't say that (I absolutely didn't) and we had a chat about my energy crashes which do come without respite (I am guessing this is the diagnosis I had years ago but didn't do anything with it - CFS and ME) and my manager has said she will try and change my contract so I can have time off in summer and other holidays to manage my energy. This would be fantastic if it does come about as I feel I could manage FT better then. What a great birthday present if this could happen. Newbie not in today after utter meltdown yesterday. So nice and calm here.
Also I've been told I can leave early 🥰.
This is a much better birthday at work than I thought I'd be having. 😁🙌🏻

I can't believe newbie is being allowed to stay in post. Without supervision and other measures being put in place.

I don't understand why neither of you appear to have had proper inductions, management support and some kind of buddy system/mentoring from existing staff. You certainly shouldn't be expected to be the ones helping each other when you are both new.

@greenbee @Baileys_Babe we've both had inductions. And training manuals made and given to us and direct instruction on what needs to be done by us, for the first couple of weeks, daily- where we do it and how to organise our time. It really isn't a hard job 🙈 ...my offer to help her was with basic things that aren't necessarily taught on induction like where to find this bit in the shared drives, where to go for this and how to use the photocopier etc things I learned as I went along.
I think it's been escalated now since yesterday. My complaint as well as several statements that had to be written by witnesses to yesterday's outburst might be enough to move her along with HR.

Also the more I'm chatting with people the more I think MH is at play with her. Such a shame it has come to this but I feel nothing but relief she's not in today so 🤷🏻♀️

OH DFW, I feel for your friend. Life is so cruel. My good friend (sadly no longer here anymore) he family were dreadful after she lost both of her parents in her early 20's. No excuses but seems to be a thing in some families after grief. Sending hugs to you and bear hugs to your friend too.

Aw thanks so much @Queen_of_the_Hive @Baileys_Babe @beanielou 🥰
I left work early which was a lovely surprise as I thought I was going to be in till 5 this morning 🥰. Had a nice lunch and did some admin and caught up with everyone as they came through the office. Also caught up with two friends from my old job, I'm so glad I left that. There is a lot of tension in that department right now and job changes and more people handing their notice in etc. Both friends want to quit ☹️ I'll be sad if all the people I get on well with leave but I think everyone has had enough of that job.
Newbie did come in but stayed only an hour. Wanted to be my best friend 🤔 What's up with that, huh? Esp after taking something I said yesterday and twisting it around and lying and trying to take my job 🤔 'odd' is the word I use all the time when thinking about the behaviour. Anyway I helped her with a few things and left it at that. I wasn't letting it ruin my day.
I'm home, showered, in fluffy pjs 🥰 and looking forward to my take away later on and a nice film. DP has been paid so all accounts are looking a bit better now 😁. A good day in all and especially good if I can get a bit of a change on my contract to help me manage my energy a bit better with some extra holidays thrown in (obviously pay will be less but I think it would be worth it meaning I can cope without crashing) 🙌🏻😊🎂🎈.
