Long day at the paid stuff today but when I had a meeting off site I fitted in a quick stop in to see my dad who was only 5 mins away.Didn’t finish til 630 and have only managed to cook dinner. 2 portions to declutter to the freezer, empty the DW and reload. I then MUST wrap a colleagues gifts as tomorrow is the last day we are in the office together.
DD has decorated the tree but instead of a star or an angel, we have a Labubu on the top 🤷♀️
I need to hoover up around the mess she made so will quickly run it through downstairs tooMortgage, paid off!9 -
- went to aqua aerobics
- stopped at 'work' on the way home to pick up the laptop I'd left there yesterday
- went to C00p for a few things (more flowers)
- delivered a few local cards on the way home
- got more silver spray from W1x and sprayed a few more shrubs
- made 3 arrangements to go into church tomorrow; G's funeral is in the afternoon. Needed a few cuddles and tear-wiping from Mr N as I'd much rather have been doing flowers with G than for her.
- did a bit of drum practice. I've got the last slot tomorrow for my lesson (8.30pm) as I'll be at the funeral for my usual timeslot. Hope I can function at that time of the evening as it will be an emotional day.
- Did as much tidying of the kitchen as I could, considering it has 3 arrangements, 3 buckets of flowers/foliage, a pile of baubles/cones/miscellaneous decs and a long string of ivy to go on the church windowsill - all of which are surplus to the kitchen's usual contents.
- went to zumba. Foot coping but some interesting bruises coming through on my knee.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.10 -
Morning all,
My list for today
Do the required uni work
Do paid stuff
Check banking and direct debits
Go to the uni festive lunch social at a local hotel
Get some last minute shopping whilst in town
Take the dog for a long walk
Dust the living room
Put a string up for the festive cards
Take DD to the stables so she can feed and check on her pony
Go to the festive social at the stables
Go to the volunteer role meeting, thankfully, it is online.
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today, although mostly socialising and not much flying. I hope everyone has a lovely Thursday8 -
Day at home today but a meeting at the vol job tonight. I've already told them I don't want to be reinstated if things improve and they decide they want a paid manager - they are now talking about a paid role though not strictly the same so hopefully they'll have taken the hint.
My hair is dyed - better colour than last time but still not exactly what I want. Boo to the dye company beginning with a C which discontinued my beloved semi permanent nice and easy number 96.
Already done WM and TD and have set the water butt to drain slowly.
Need to make a start on that epic list...

Hello all. Don't think I achieved anything yesterday as children were here between my work shifts.
Today two wash loads, hoovering, dog walk, dailies, popped to PO, checked admin and banking (eek!), cancelled meeting up with friends today. Just having early lunch. I think another dog walk might happen depending on weather before my next work shift .Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Afternoon all. One washload done this morning, most of it dry now. Some on the radiators first thing then what was left on the airer by the dehumidifier. Just a few bits left but they're getting there.Shopping delivered this morning, last one until some time in January. Nothing unavailable which I thought was impressive and all squeezed and squashed into the fridge and freezer.Had a little walk and got back about 10 minutes before the rain which hasn't let up yet.Hope everyone's OK x9

Long stint at the Foodbank so all the records I deal with are completely up to date. Next time I'm in there will be in the new year, although they'll be super busy between now and then so I'll go back to an absolutely mountain. I've told them I expect them to find someone in the new year because I don't want to be the only person who knows how to do this job, and I'm away for the whole of May and most certainly do not want to come back to a whole month's worth of work.By the time I'd packed Wren's suitcase and run her up to the dog sitter's I had exactly 45 minutes to pack for myself for tonight's jaunt across La Manche. Thoroughly looking forward to a 36 hour break, courtesy of Brittany Ferries.See you all on Saturday at some point, although it's a busy day - off ferry, drop Belovéd and the person coming with us back at home, to the dog sitter, pick up Wren, whizz her over to the vet to have her stitches out, and then home to unpack and unwind before going out for the evening.I must find time to write my Christmas cards!Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.9

The snowman is in place if the link works: https://flic.kr/p/2rMwBRd I tried uploading the photo but it was enormous on the page.........
- 3 flower arrangements taken to church and funeral attended
- another little arrangement made for drum tutor
- sent an e-card to 17 of Mum's friends as she hasn't been motivated to write any.
- caught up with long phone call to ex-work colleage for our annual chat
- discussed Christmas menu with BIL who is hosting us for 4 days. Agreed to do 2 main courses each so have emailed him the list of ingredients he needs for my share (vegetable galette and beetroot&butternut bake with walnut crumble). I'm also making the Christmas pudding and an orange&ginger pudding which I will make on Saturday.
- went to drumming lesson. Posted couple of cards to Mum's non-IT friends on the way home.
- paid cc bill
- organised people to visit after we've left BIL on 27th; so far have one coffee shop meet-up and one home coffee/lunch visit arranged.
Have a lovely time HB.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

The snowman looks great, Narc0!
Not much achieved here today, as it’s been dark with heavy rain. I did manage to do a food shop. Tomorrow is another day.

Morning ladies
Yesterday was another full day at the paid stuff and the last day in the office for me although I will be working up until midday on Christmas Eve.The only sort of flying that was done was in the office when a colleague and I realised that no one else was going to be in before the shutdown and we needed to ensure that all the buffet food that was we had indulged on all day needed clearing away so a few bits brought home.
Exercise routine completed.
Had pigged out all day so didn’t even want dinner so DH sorted himself out while I fell asleep on the sofa.
Builder popped round and will sort the skirting in the new room and will get the radiator and arrange for fitting. I need to get another coat of paint on the walls so might do that after work today as I finish earlier.Bit worried about my Dad as he has been experiencing some difficulties and seems to be pushing through the NHS system at an alarming rate. Initial appointment with GP last week, consultant on Monday and colonoscopy arranged tor 2 January. They haven’t told him anything about what they suspect but I think he and I both know what they might be looking for. It will be 2 years at Christmas since we lost Mum and I’m not ready to lose my Dad yet. I know he’s 88 but he has always been so fit and well and is my idol.
Doogie is now rolling round on the bed and starting to whine for a wee so I better get up and get on.
Hope you all have a good day xMortgage, paid off!7
