Been to Mr M. with the aged P. Found £20 (not a single note) on the floor of the shop so handed it in to customer services. Their policy, it seems, is to give unclaimed money to a charity of their choice - I wanted it to go to the local hospice which is in dire straits but no...
Hopefully it will be claimed.
Booked for swimming - last one of the year - so will be setting out shortly.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Afternoon all. Washload done and dried indoors, just a pair of jeans waiting to finish off on the radiator tonight when the heating comes back on.Dusted, polished and vacuumed all through downstairs and up the stairs this morning. Then shopping with DD2 (bought an M&S Christmas sandwich for DH's tea but nothing else), and we had coffee out. Back home and did lunch. Meanwhile it's still raining and just got harder.Hope everyone's OK x6

Wren has been checked over by the vet who did the surgery and given the all clear. I’m so relieved. Earlier today when we did the wound check I thought there was a problem so that was an uncomfortable couple of hours, but I was wrong.Technically she doesn’t have to wear her pjs any more but for safety I think we’ll keep them on for a few more days as advised by the vet nurse on discharge.Processed all the ys sprouts and parsnips for Christmas lunch, stewed some plums, made some chocolate pots. Not much for a whole day. My list is getting longer and longer….Better is good enough.6

washed swimming stuff and dried it, along with the damp laundry from Saturday (I think); everything has been ironed and is airing but, of course, the laundry is relentless so the WM is locked and loaded as is the DW.

Today I have
- checked finances
- updated the church website
- baked 2 batches of biscuits, 2 "bare cupboard" fruit cakes and 24 meatballs (of which we ate 8 for lunch, and the rest are in the freezer)
- sorted DH's washing and washed the bedding which he had stripped
- remade his bed with fresh bedding
- cooked lunch
- had some zzz to set me up for this evening
- printed out a dozen photos of the NT Christmas decorations we've admired
- prepped food to take to the Old Wives' bring-and-share Christmas social
- enjoyed a very pleasant evening and good food.
More cards to write tomorrow.

Morning all xx
Paid stuff today for me. Two cards to deliver either on my way to or from work and I'm taking my colleagues' cards today too as it's the last time I'll see S until after Christmas.
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, changed Joey's seed and water, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, only managed two lines on Connections, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
Have a good day.
