I might be getting a lump sum soon but I don’t know whether to pay my interest card off at £4000 29% interest or pay my loan off at 12000 at 7.2% with £500 payment a month? What’s best?
For me, it would depend on the amount of the lump sum, if it was enough to pay the card off I would do that. Another one bites the dust thoughts. 29% is evil.

    I’ll join please….

    £4,117.47

When you add up your debt, does it include things like higher purchase, which you’re happy to pay off monthly? Or is it only for final debts and court order type stuff?

I also have another to that total of £25.95 but this is a payment plan for something that got refunded, so I just need to ring and check that’s right.

£263.76 will be paid off straight away when I get paid in the new year, it’s Klarna, I wanted to keep it open to pay for purchases split cost with no interest, but in reality I just buy take away with it 🤮🤮🤮

Other debts , Barclaycard, capitol one, an old water debt, a curry’s higher purchase plan, and a Barclays higher purchase plan too.

    Thank you all.
I look forward to joining you and hearing how everyone else does it :)

  • Merry Christmas everyone.
I'd like to join as my first year participating in a challenge, as I've slowly chipped away at my debts but I need a bit more oomph to clear this by the end of the year.

    Total Owed: £5,336.77

    HSBC Credit Card: £3046.28
    Creation Finance: £1110.24
    Bank of Mum: £980.25
    Bank of Dad: £200

Paying the minimums as default, but will throw extra cash I can at it from side hustles and selling old items I no longer need. All debt is 0% this year apart from Creation that ends in August - this one will be the first to tackle.

  • Hello all, may I join you please?
    £6135 on a 0% till November 2026.
I am making minimum payments (£70/month) and saving £300 in a regular saver with FD and £400 in a Lloyds one.
I have enough savings to pay this off, but because it’s on a 0%, it makes more sense to leave it where it is and accrue interest.
Except…this is what I said last year, when I only had £5000.
So I’m holding myself accountable on here.
