I think 6 months is best and hopefully you would have paid some more off. I am sorry about the trauma your ex has caused. :(. In a few years it will move towards the back of your brain. I promise. It does take time. Can you find or able to do a side hustle at all ? Every little tiny amount helps.

I can’t side hustle as it’s too risky for him finding me and I’ve no mental space, I’m in a bit of a mess

I have been there, I do feel for you, its an horrendous place to be. You will be in a state, this is understandable, it absolutely messes your head and how you think and will affect you for a long time. Just remember you are worth it, you will get there and it will take time. I PROMISE you, in a few years- and time will go quickly, things WILL improve. You will get you back and realise that a 'normal' life is worth fighting for, even through you all you are dealing with.
Something like Prolific or similar surveys can increase your income and give you a mental boost with no fear of being found or somebody knocking on your door.
