whereabouts is this offer advertised on Barclays’ website as can’t see any reference to it? I have found the T and c document via google which also contains the link to register for offer so that should suffice but wondering if there is any other info to accompany the T and c (that would normally be on the webpage rather than in a document such as FAQs).

Turns out the drop down list on the transfer form doesn't include everything Barclays will let you hold on their platform. There is also an offline list of 'sell only tradeable funds' which can be transferred in and out, or sold. But you can't purchase more on the Barclays platform, including via reinvestment.

So worth a phone call to Barclays to check whether a specific fund which isn't listed on the form can be transferred in-specie rather than having to transfer in cash. Depending where the transfer is coming from there may be paper forms which need printing and returning in the post.

Also, for anyone who might want a transfer-in from a cash ISA, Bank of Scotland and Halifax aren't on the Barclays list of providers on the online transfer form. Transfers-in from them have to be done manually with paper forms. So best avoided if possible.

I've got to say that after some initial problems, the staff at Barclays have been giving very good customer service. The difficulties have been as much the fault of the providers I'm transferring from as with Barclays themselves.

Gave them a bell, apparently they've emailed IG twice to no response as of yet. I was ready to blame Barclays as well, because the FAQ on the IG page state to make sure the receiving broker emails their transfer team, otherwise it can hold up the transfer. Are you transferring from them too?

I am transferring a Cash ISA I hold with Aldermore so Barclays and Aldermore should get this doen via elecronic transfer rather quick - in theory at least.

When I phoned my old provider, Scottish Widows, they had no record of a transfer request from Barclays, despite Barclays telling me they were waiting for a response from SW. I still don’t know who to believe but once I got back to Barclays, the transfer started to move. If yours is not progressing, it seems definitely worth calling your old provider to get their view on the proceedings

IG wanted to do KYC checks on me all of a sudden, possibly triggered by me making largely using the S&S ISA as an easy access account and leaving a chuck as uninvested cash. Might also be completely random.

This was months ago and they've still not gotten back to me on the outcome, after asking me twice for bank statements by email and receiving them twice.

It says on their website to email them a confirmation email with a wet signature in addition to doing a transfer form with the receiving broker. No reply to that either.

I can't wait to move on. Hopefully Free trade CS isn't as bad, after they were bought out by IG.

Anyway, hopefully any delays isn't due to the KYC stuff.

Edit: Received an email from IG this afternoon about a backlog..

For anyone waiting for their transfer to complete, I started my transfer from Scottish Widows to Barclays on Jan 13th (some gilts and one ETF). The transfer completed today. There was one hiccup because Barclays couldn’t accept fractional holdings. So I’ve still got a few fragments of gilts left behind at SW. They will be reunited with their pals when I transfer everything back to SW once I’m confident that my incentive is going to be paid out.

I have fractional holdings in Barclays, transferred from Scottish Widows. Mine are all Funds, and did (eventually, after two months, hooray!!) all transfer on the same day.

I had no gilts to transfer to Barclays but on an unrelated transfer to Interactive Investor, the Funds (fractional) transferred quite quickly, and the (fractional) gilts took an eternity to follow but did eventually. It seems there's something special or different for gilts.
