NST December 2025 A Different December

I woke up feeling much clearer and brighter. I got excited about what I was going to do (there are lots of little things to buy/ appointments to make but all in the same area. Then I tried to get out of bed. Oh no, not entirely better - wobbly and feeble, holding onto things to get across the room. I reached into the shower to pick up some tissue (had got stuck to my foot then came off when I showered). The whole world tipped briefly - no we'll wait until later for the shower.
So changed my plans, had a quiet day, ate soup and yoghurt and 2 baked potatoes, then made tuna and mixed bean salad with 7 salad veg (+ green beans and sweetcorn in the bean tin). Washing, washing up and rubbish were all moved along.
Grateful for lovely meals, Downton, puzzle games that don't require much brain power.5 -

Things to be Happy About
(taken from 100 things that make me happy by Lauraconteuse)
Sunsets, a cosy and comfortable couch, a good night's sleep, hugs, a good joke, random acts of
kindness from strangers, a productive day of cleaning and decluttering, a garden project,
discovering great discovering great books, being surrounded by nature, homemade soup on a cold day,
warm fuzzy socks, flowers, singing along to favourite songs, butterflies, rainbows, cuddly pandas
naps, baths, bird song, a funny laugh out loud movie, good news, spending time with young children
candles, fairy lights, trying a new recipe that turns out well5 -
Shaking my baubles, with tinsel round my neck 😀 please can I join @grandmanerd & be #18?
A great thread, thank you. Will be a bittersweet time for us this year, without DS1. We'll do it our way, as we need to, thanks for your encouragement.
As for pinch punching yesterday, it did cross my mind @7.30am, but I thought someone wouldve beat me to it & I still had half of Nowvember's thread to catch up on & find the link for December's!
Yesterday was NSD#1. Spent £1.25 at the post office on my way home from work. Not bad for 5 airmail cards! Had a brainwave that I could use some of my (free) large letter stamps as pàrt of tge postage costs. Had it in my head they could only be used in the UK. Wish I'd known when I sent a baby present...
Grateful I did my tax return at the weekend, my friends throwing me an early birthday tea tomorrow night & that work was much better today than yesterday!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Happy Early birthday wishes @Thrifty_Taylor 🎂
I tried to go shopping today. Went to big out of town shopping emporium. Needed a bra, matching knickers, a couple of work shirts and a jumper.
Failed abysmally.... returned with cheese, pasties, B&Js, and ribena. Ho hum.🤣
I am morally opposed to shopping.
Small spends only, and the PB 🧚♂️ gave me £300 .
Thank you PB 🧚♂️.
Gratitudes:
it didn't rain on me !
I have a plan for tomorrow
I have only a dull faceache today.

7 Days, 7 Acts of Love
Day One Light and Celebrations
Let's gather round. Share something that feels like a spark of light. it could be:
A line from one of his (Benjamn Zephaniah) poems
A colourful drawing even if it's just a doodle
A song that makes you feel joyful and free
A photo of something beautiful that represents 'light' to you
(#CarryTheRhythm # Benjamin Zephaniah)

So count Dusty in please!1 -
Oops typed that in the dark because I was too lazy to get up and put the light on,and my touch typing is almost non existent!

Only 4.25 and its black dark.
Will study grandmanerd's notes and start off tomorrow.Just got a few books I ordered for DS1 in the post at 4pm. Supposed to come tomorrow when 2 other books are due for GD6. Had expected today to be my first NSD but thats out the window now.2 -
My solar lights came on at dusk! Woo hoo! The hall is flashing, must remember to put them on constant once I stop being delighted that they are working again. All it took was replacing the original rechargeable battery with one of my (uncharged) rechargeable batteries that I know works, and the solar panel did the rest. They nearly ended up in the recycling bin at the tip!! Hooray for fairy lights in December and not throwing stuff out.Nothing else Christmassy or Festive achieved I'm afraid. Will try harder tomorrow.4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!
