Might have to remove the final paragraph.

  • If the claim is issued by DCB Legal, all you need for your defence is "liability is denied". As long as it is defended, they will discontinue just before the £27 trial fee has to be paid a month before the hearing date.
  • Defence in. Thank you for your help. Fingers crossed lol.

    Have a good Christmas everyone.

Thanks for the advice so far.

This morning I received an email from DCBL:

    "Good Morning

Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim.

In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.

Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.

If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not."

Is this a standard response, I assume in a last ditch bid to get me to crack?

I assume the Directions Questionaire is straight forward?

    TIA

Keep following he 8 steps in the Template Defence Announcement  -  you are on step 2:-

"2.  Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire or the usual template letter saying they 'intend to proceed' and/or want you to 'settle'. Ignore that!"

STANDARD TRY-IT-ON LETTER to scare you.  DCBL well know that this MET site is a scam. DCBL will make it woese by adding a fake amount  which they call DAMAGES ?

No point in responding to DCBL and let them do it if they want to take a scam to court then they will issue a claim.
BUT, as this is a scam site they will no doubt start offering a discount ... WHICH YOU IGNORE. DO NOT BE TEMPTED because sooner or later they will discontinue

We don't need to see that standard response. It is already in the first 8 steps ...to stop people posting about it!

We do not want to know about DCB Legal's reply, or the DQ, or Mediation (all are covered).

What we do collect are pictures of the Notices of Discontinuance for Umkomaas' thread, so we'll see you again in the Summer/Autumn when you strut proudly back here with your win!

    Cheers, I do apologise.

One thing though...I regard myself as fairly computer literate. However, people mention templates and threads on here and I go searching via the magnifying glass icon top right and I can't find these posts. Where do I find posts like 'Template Defence Announcement'. I've just seen 'Bookmarked Threads' down the right hand side there, maybe I'll search there. I suspect that I've not read something correctly in the sticky early doors.

    Sorry in advance lol

It’s the “announcement” threads at the top of the forum. The “Newbies” one in particular

As @Jame4ters writes, look for the announcements on first page of forum rather than searching for them.  Bookmarked threads are for YOUR threads that YOU have bookmarked.
