Happy birthday, Iona. I hope you have a lovely day, and a restful one.
Last night I made a list for today and tomorrow, as the jobs were swirling around in my head. Result - today’s jobs have been ticked off, simply because I have a list to go to.
I started the morning with a nurse appointment. Unsuccessful outcome, although nothing to do with the nurse or for want of trying. Back next week to the senior nurse for round 2. Deep joy.
Bedroom and bathroom vacuumed (put off from the other day due to lack of interest), clean washing folded, wm x 1 done and draped indoors. Carrot and lentil soup has been made which should be lunch sorted for a couple of days. A froend came by for a quick cupppa and a catch up which was nice. I am now waiting for Mr M to deliver. My seed order has arrived so I can sort through that while I’m waiting. And the Mandess box which has just been delivered.Yuk, it’s nearly dark here.5 -
Thank you for the birthday greetings. We have had a very nice day out with Rosie:
- drove to the parish church in Chipping Campden where I dropped off the enormously heavy, old Easter candles that had been filling a large drawer in the Vicar's vestry since at least 2009 (each one is dated, so we buy a new one every year) to add to their collection of used candles - all will be passed on to this organisation in Swindon. NB: Decluttering our church as well as my house!
- had an enormous and very tasty lunch at this pub nearby
- went to the shopping village that is on our way home: Rosie and I went for a walk alongside the light railway, then I bought myself a lovely warm, zip-up, fleece, hooded jacket at a bargain price, and DH got a fleecy shirt and a pair of trainers.
I am not planning to cook this evening
For Flying, does changing the old bath mat for a new one count? I cleaned the shower too.

I have checked where the funeral ceremony is tomorrow - It's at a methodist church with the name 'Common' in it - there's also one nearby with an identical name just missing the 'Common' and that was where I thought it was... I know where the cemetry is.
I have ironed lots of stuff. Tea was delicious - left over mash with beef stew from the SC.
Phone call from SD's NDN - his alarm is going off (he'll have gone to chess club) and, though it had stopped when I got there I have turned it off to make a point.

Yes it counts. Happy birthday Iona.
Didca second work shift, listed stuff to sell on internet and washed dishes.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
@MinnieMousesMummy - fingers crossed that the follow up tests can be arranged quickly to put your mind at rest.
I have a beautifully sparkly clean bathroom - so gorgeous that i find myself reluctant to use it!
we also hoovered, dusted and cleaned our garden room. We like to spend our afternoons there listening to music and relaxing but have neglected it in our cleaning routine.
and the cat's feeding corner has been deep cleaned. He had better not mess it up!

Hugs to MMM and birthday hugs to Ionafan.
Got up early (for us) today as builders were coming to replace our bedroom window. Of course they came at the end of the '8.30-9.30' slot, but were very pleasant, efficient, tidy and didn't drink too much tea. The glass is so clean and shiny it is deceptive walking towards it (it is a patio-door sized window with only the top sections opening but the lower section is glass as well), I keep thinking I'm going to step outside. Doubtless it will all be covered in cobwebs soon. However, getting up early meant that I have:
- one load through DW, emptied and put away
- few individual items washed up
- Walked round kitchen identifying anything which didn't belong there and took it to its correct room
- wiped surfaces
- swept and mopped floor
- filled bird feeders
- sewed up gloves and started on a new pair
- wrote more cards, I have organised them in a plastic basket with labels to make them easier to deliver i.e. local, post, church, work, gym. Be impressed!
- went to drumming lesson, got a few things from Mr T on my way back
- did a bit of tidying in the lounge
- did a few bits of life adminRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.6 -
Happy birthday Ionafan. It sounds as though it was a good day.I hope you have some good news very soon MMM about your health and course.I had to go to a funeral today of someone I didn't know very well but admired very much. An elderly gentleman who had lived a full and happy life, with decades of community service and political activism, a sportsman, with 30 years working as an NHS technician. A genuinely good man. He will be missed.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Hope your birthday was a good one, @ionafan.6

Morning all, it's a rather stormy and wet start to the day here after a stormy night, but DH has checked outside and found no damage, so all good.
@ionafan Thank you very much for the lovely message.
Thank you to everyone who sent me lovely comments yesterday regarding my health and my course.
My list for today
Do the required uni work (I'm going to defer part of the course but continue with some of it, as it will be good to have something to focus on)
Do freelance work that is in the diary for today
Check banking and DDs
Remember to take meds
Clean laptop
Sort out the diary for next month, as it's a busy month
Cobweb removal downstairs
Wipe down the front of the kitchen cupboards
Remind DH to look for the Elf Work in progress, still can't find where we hid him last year
Fill DW and switch it on
Clean the clutter from the top of the drawers in the master bedroom
Sort out the kitchen cupboard for storing festive food and update the festive shopping list with items already got.
Add 10 items to V account
Take DD to her tutor
Take DD to the stables so she can feed and check on her pony
Have some me time (think I might watch a festive film this afternoon whilst everyone is out)
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Friday.6 -
