Morning all xx
How are we all this morning? All well I hope.
I had a lovely week at the paid stuff compromised by my car being a devil to start on Thursday and Friday. It started - eventually - each time but my heart was in my mouth after it took around ten attempts (I lost count) on Thursday morning. Then I spent the whole day wondering if it would start to get me home. Not the battery as it was cranking for England. Glow plugs? Fuel pump. Anyhoo I Googled and tried their advice. Took three attempts on Thursday night, two attempts yesterday morning, and just the one lengthy attempt last night. So I think there is a knack and I'm getting the hang of it. The garage is closed at the weekend so I'm going to pick DB's brain later.
Then the side roads were sooo icy yesterday morning. I was going steady but still had three dicey moments. 😱.
So I went from blissful contentment after my Annual Leave to a bag of nerves by Friday. Most annoying. And breathe. Tis weekend. Decompress. And breathe....
I woke up at 8, so caught up on some missed sleep; I'm up, made my bed, changed Joey's seed and water, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with one life lost, and I've supped my first brew.
I'll list my Saturdailies and work my way through them. No rush.
Co-op had the tartan wrapping paper that I like on a 3 for 2 offer, so I bought six rolls. That's probably enough for this year and next year too 😊
And I bought myself a room thermometer as I was angsting about Joey getting cold overnight / through the day. £3.99 off the big river site. And my thermostat has been turned down already. I'm thinking that will prove to be a very mse buy. 😇
Right. Second brew. Breakfast. List. Let's get this black dog back in its kennel. 🐕.
Love to all
Rxx

Morning all. It's been another full-on week here and I am shattered, so today will be a s-l-o-w day with plenty of rest. I woke up at 6.30 and had to let Rosie out, but I made myself a cuppa, plumped up my pillows, settled back into bed wearing my warm fluffy dressing gown (the heating comes on at 7.00) and slept again until DH called me down for breakfast at 8.45. But I'm still tired!
It's raining again (and about 9 degrees warmer than it was a couple of days ago!) so Rosie is unlikely to want to go out for a walk until it stops, and I'm not going to insist. I have started off a pork and beans stew in the SC, loaded the DW, cleaned the kitchen worktops, PUPA in the LR and begun to tidy my desk. It's almost coffee time, so I'll make an effort and get dressed before I go and put the kettle on. A real autumn feel to the day.
Have a good one xxx6 -
Breakfast eaten. Brew 2 supped. List written.
I've put out fresh towels and fresh tea towels. Used ones are in the laundry hamper.
I've showered, washed my hair, shaved, moisturised and got dressed in all clean clothes. Worn clothes are in the laundry hamper.
I've brought down the laundry hamper.
To Do:
Sort laundry into loads
Set first load swishing
Take empty laundry hamper upstairs
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish
Put out the recycling
Put new bin bags in bins
WUDUPA
Coffee

Morning all
It's sometimes exhausting trying to pass for human, so am sending out hugs & sticks to beat off BD. All top quality, I've been using them myself 🤗
I joined the silver lining moment club on Wednesday. We'd had a busy few days getting the place decent for family visit/stopover. About an hour before they were due to arrive, the chimney (or possibly crows s0dding around) decided to dump a sh!£li@d of old birds nest (complete with small mammal bones) down onto the hearth. Big puff of dust and swearing ensued, mostly from me (the swearing not the dust).
We were rushing around like the Keystone Kops, clearing up & re- dusting & vacuuming, needed another shower. The silver lining being the fireplace & surrounding area are beautufully clean.
Today will be WM, TD, FUPA, PUPA, DW, S&Sing & general tidy-as-I-go.

And still got most of it left"

It sounds as though a lot of Flyladies have the Black Dog hanging around (sticks a-plenty here if anyone wants to help themselves) and are feeling over-tired. I'm defo the latter, Belovéd is too, so we're having a slow day. He's watching his team play on the TV, stretched out, from the sofa.I'm going to tweak a couple of jobs that I've had the final go-ahead on to finish them and then wrap some presents. I've been gathering things slowly through the year because one friend has a birthday in mid-December and Belovéd on 6 January so I struggle to each year if I leave it to December to start my Christmas shopping. I want to get a parcel in the post before the Royal Mail's annual December meltdown. Ideally I'd like to get any Christmas cards that need posting done this weekend too, even if they don't go in the postbox for two or three weeks. I've sent the American one so that can be crossed off, and edited last year's list right down now that even second class post is 17 shillings and 6d. I used to bedgrudge paying 6d for a small bar of c@dbury'$ chocolate because that was half of my pocket money!I've also put the makings in the breadmaker because we're out tonight and I won't remember to set the thing when we get home. Can't have our Sunday morning boiled eggs without soldiers!Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Afternoon,
Not done much yet again but over the last couple of days I've done a load of washing, TD what I could and put it away.
I had the clever idea of defrosting the chest freezer while doing a freezer inventory and rejigging to make space for Christmas delivery. The defrosting took longer than I expected considering there wasn't much ice.
I've done the DW, organised bits to do some SC batch cooking tomorrow.
I've also S/S the bathroom, sorted and tidied the bathroom cupboard ready for any bath stuff I get for Christmas.
Started sorting and tidying my "office corner" and also watched and deleted programmes off the telly.

Easy decision regarding lake swim as it was wet and windy so not very appealing even to me.
Set off to next village's PO with good intentions. Understaffed, and told the staff member was putting away a delivery (PO is in the C00p). Said I'd slowly wander round as I needed a couple of things. Decided to get a C0sta as they had a machine. Stood and sipped that by the counter. Harrassed staff member came out again and said they probably wouldn't be opening today.......managed to get some stamps at the newsagent when I got the paper so at least I achieved something.
Achievement of the day/week/month is that the recipe sort is complete. All magazines now in recycling; all loose paper recipes typed up neatly (many having been scrawled on the back of an envelope) or cut to size and in new file with plastic pockets i.e. if I spill cake mix etc on them, it is easily wipeable. 4 recipe books put on CS pile. A couple of the other recipe books will be monitored to see if I use them much. All books wiped clean. All I'm keeping fit into one section of the sideboard, rather than 2, and there are no loose scraps of paper.
More knitting done.
More Christmas cards written.
Electricity and gas meters read, submitted readings to E0N and added to my spreadsheet.
Electronic advent calendar bought and installed.
Up to date with birthday cards needed this week.
More books downloaded onto Kindle as I'm getting through a lot at present.
Virus protection thing renewed at way less than the reminder email quoted.
Boiler serviced (I can't claim that as flying, but I did say hello to the engineers!).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.7
