Pollybear, your weather sounds very similar to our’s. I too was freaked by seeing snow falling when I got up. It is bitterly cold out.
Narc0, sorry to hear about your friend. If your virus thingy is similar to the one that I had, it took me a good 3 weeks to get over it. I have never had sinus pain like it or for so long, and I often suffer with sinusitis after a cold.
Today has not gone to plan, which was to clean the ensuite and bathroom. Instead I have been stripping - wallpaper, that is. The builders might just have a start date for the hall, stairs and landing, so the last of the wallpaper had to go. Most of it came off by lunchtime but one patch then took a chunk out of the afternoon. DD has made bread, so I filled oven by using up various fridge bits to make a savoury tart thingy. Dinner is a dal in the sc. Oh and yesterday evening I took it into my head to sort out the freezers. That took way longer than expected, and confirmed that it has indeed been a good year for beans! So now every meal has to include something from the freezer if I have any hope of creating space.4 -
Enormous (((hugs))) for Narc0: I am so sorry to hear of your friend's passing xx
The postman came while we were out for lunch and to my astonishment had delivered a package for me. It turned out to be a gift from another, anonymous, Flylady so I can only say a very big "Thank you" to the sender via this thread. Like a big kid, I am looking forward greatly to opening it, and delighted that I won't have to wait until 25th December to do so!
I managed to clean all through the house today, albeit bit by bit between other comings and goings, and I even mopped the hard floors. I have booked a slot to take the old headboard to the tip early tomorrow morning, which may turn out to have been a silly time to go because my car is very prone to condensation which freezes on the windscreen in this cold weather and takes ages to clear. I shall have to get up early, like it or not.
Please keep warm and dry if you can xxx

Honey_Bear said:Morning All! Very busy day ahead of me, with very limited time to do everything that needs to be done.- Finalise mintues- Finalise Jane's spreadsheet- Bake some sausage rolls from the freezer for snacks for a couple of days- Bake a clementine cake for tomorrow- Prep for telecon on Thursday pm or am- Make burgers for supperI've already knocked a couple of other things off the list but the time-crunch is that we're going to the flicks for a 2.30 matinee and I might run out of energy during that, which would be a bit of a disaster.Three down, tharee to go. I'm surprised I managed the three I did, tbh.it was The Choral Ionafan, and if I didn't know it was an Alan Bennet script before I sat through it, I would have guessed it was. It was interesting, a story I enjoyed, but all the women were very peripheral to the action which always irritates me. It also had subtitles for the hard of hearing as a special showing and while I don't mind normally, visually it impacted quite significantly on the experience of watching it because it was beautifully shot. Excellent performances from allt he main (male, obviously) actors.*healing vibes* for you Narco. Is it normal to eat pizza for breakfast? Asking for a friend.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Morning all xx
HB - quite normal at this house. But I wouldn't go by what's normal for me if I were you 🤪
Hugs to Narc0 ((())) xx
All the usual routine (make my bed etc) for a work day done. Just hope my car starts - it's diesel and doesn't like the cold. 🤞
Have a good day. Stay toasty if you can.

HB - my lovely ex-BiL usually ate trifle and/or Christmas pudding for breakfast on Boxing Day, and I would consider pizza as a very balanced alternative on other "non-run-of-the-mill" days (whenever those happen and whatever they look like). I would certainly enjoy it, given the chance! Glad you enjoyed the film. I'm hoping to go and see it.
Today I have to
- open curtains and wipe windows
- check finances
- load the car and go to the tip
- make some phonecalls
- walk Rosie
- go to the funeral and wake for one of our old church members
- come home in time to help J the gardener
- put a stew for our evening meal into the SC
- fall asleep on the sofa for an hour or so (Rosie woke me up this morning before my alarm had gone off)
- transcribe the Will which got crowded out of my schedule by the church council meeting last night.
It has snowed overnight enough to leave white on my car's roof and I have seen a few more flakes this morning. The sky was a beautiful streaky pink at 7.45 and is now clear blue to the west and with grey clouds to the east. Brr!

Morning all
Hoping to finish Tuesday’s list (bedroom) today and deal with some laundry. My friend and I have tickets for an am dram tonight. A group that has their own theatre and, to my shame, I have never been!
DD isn’t coming home tonight so I don’t need to worry about tea.
Apparently pizza for breakfast is quite normal. I couldn’t though zi could (and have) eaten trifle for breakfast!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Afternoon all,
I made it to yesterday’s list, so now bathrooms are clean and sparkly, although it never lasts long. The blinds in the ensuite need cleaning - again. That’s what I find most frustrating - the dreaded job gets done and off the list only to sneak back on again after what feels like a few days. Ho hum, the joys of flying.
Onwards and upwards - QHI done to see off the pile. A bit of dot to dot. Now to finally get to the seed order for next year.
Keep warm and drive safely if you are out on the roads where the weather isn’t the blue sky, but oh so cold (-6 at 6pm yesterday) x4 -
Afternoon all. One washload dried inside this morning and then I stripped my bed and did that. Pegged it out for a few hours and it's mostly dry so I will finish that off indoors. I think it's more cold than wet.Shifted my more tender plant pots to between the fence and the back of the (covered) garden bench in the hope they survive the winter. It's worked for the last 3 or 4 years so fingers crossed. Swept up. Again.Wendywitch re sink and bath plugs, they have moved from the middle of the bathroom windowsill to the left hand side. Progress I suppose but not much!Hope everyone's OK x6
