Hmm. Trifle for breakfast as an alternative to pizza. Need to get, or make, a trifle to see why. Imagination is all very well but reality needs testing. Although, actually, that's given me an idea. I don't really like Christmas pudding unless it's homemade so this year I think I'll make a trifle for myself and anyone else who wants it. All I've got to do is make sure there is some left over for Boxing Day. Good oh.Foodbank done, shopping done, tip run done and I will make supper later, but I'm shattered now so I'm having a rest now.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Although it has been bitterly cold today it has also been dry - so the washing has dried. Tomorrow the forecast is for more of the same so more bedding to be line dried! Happy Valli!
I've had the first dose on the shingles jab; I go back in 6 months for a second. Been for hay for the bunnies and have put more straw in the hutches for warmth; despite the fact that they get fresh hay daily (which smells so lovely) they also eat the straw which IMO is far less tempting. Fancy xmas tree shaped rabbit treats bought as xmas gifts for bunnies. This is, of course, a secret
No doubt Ionafan will be in touch but my Secret Santa gift has been delivered! *excited*

Hi all
Sorry to hear your news Narco.
We have had quite a bit of snow but it had mostly melted before I had to drive home. Paid stuff is manic, at lunchtime I received a message from a colleague asking if we could bring our 4pm meeting forward so everyone could get home on account of the weather. This created a minor panic as I had nothing in my diary. I never make mistakes like that.
Flying has been very minimal, I need to get back into a routine. I also need to start thinking about Christmas soon.
Friday tomorrow but working Saturday as a one off. I am going to try and do a shorter day tomorrow.6 -
Hi everyone, been AWOL recently as my head is all over the place with different things happening around myself and my family.Sending love to @Narc0lepsy and I’m sorry for your loss.
Yesterday I did a “re set” of the house as tbh I just hadn’t had the energy to do anything recently and it wasn’t in my like radar so anyway the house is now straight and today I just went over it again, changed and washed the throws and cushion covers off the sofa and chairs, cleaned the bathroom, toilet, living room, kitchen, laundry and ironing.
Tomorrow will be the same as today.Trying to change my life and will:money:6 -
Morning all, I'm still not feeling too well but not to worry its my scan day so hopefully will find out more and know what I'm dealing with.
My list for today
Attend hospital appointment
Phone the dr for results from start of the week
Send email to placement
Phone local auction house regarding selling old ring
Finish writing up uni slides started yesterday
Pay cash into bank account (sold my old car yesterday)
Package up V order (1 more item decluttered)
Trip to post office to catch up with posting
Take dog for a long walk
Speak to DH regarding festive presents
Sort out the diary for next week
Go to the local country store to see if they have equine advent calendars
Take DD to her tutor
Do a bit of festive shopping whilst DD is with her tutor (advent calendars, some sweets and napkins)
Take DD to the stables so she can check on and feed her pony
Plan out the next uni assignment
It's a long list for me today but I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Friday.5 -

I have finished Wednesday's list!I also did the first thing that I saw this morning that needed doing - sorting out the paracetemol and ibuprophen boxes. I may go back to doing that little job every day starting on Monday and carrying on for the first two weeks of December. There are things that need sorting but I'm too busy chasing my tail to deal with everything at once.Belovéd raked the leaves this morning and I spread them on the bottom bed.I'm now dealing with the bird food bags that I take on each dog walk so I can feed one or two pairs of blackbirds that I've been feeding for a decade, and a robin who's decided to join in the fun. Unfortunately the magpies have realised I am a Carrier Of Bird Food so they follow me and would mob my blackbirds so I have to feed them elsewhere on the walk. It's a good thing I buy cheap fatballs because I don't mind feeding them that but I'm darned if I'm giving them sunflower hearts and the wormy things.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Hi all
Paid stuff done, house dusted and hoovered right through, hard floors mopped, clean washing away, brisk walk completed and I have booked dentist, doctor and car MOT. Pleased with that. Oh and I washed the big thick bath mat that hasn't been washed for a while. We do have a couple of thinner ones that we put over the top that do get washed regularly.
Fire lit and feet up now.6 -
Evening all. Two washloads done today, some dried directly indoors and some mostly outside and just finished off indoors. Lovely sunny day but still cold, in the shade the frost didn't go all day.Looking after DD1's dog today so I had two walks with him, slow walks so he can sniff every blade of grass. Then back home and had to pick DGD4 up from school and deliver her home while my son in law waited for a delivery. Had a quick cuddle with their dog when I got there.Bit tired now. Hope your scan goes well MMM and hope everyone else is OK. I see a couple more people saying they thought they had posted before, which happened to me a couple of days ago, so maybe it's the site not us!6

Thanks for all your good wishes and condolences.
One large frog nearly done - I've been through all my old Mr T magazines, clipped any recipes I want to save and have put them into my new recipe file. That has emptied one 'compartment' of the sideboard. One other compartment has recipe books and lots of bits of paper with recipes on; I'm confident I can sort through that lot in the next day or so. What I will keep will fit into one compartment, leaving the other free to start unboxing some of the china set I retrieved from Mum's house.
I must say that although it's been a much quieter week than usual owing to being ill, I've found it fairly peaceful to focus all my activities on knitting (one pair boater's gloves finished and another started) and sorting recipes. Although I've done a lot of reading and tried to do a bit of drumming each day, there has been no work or gym to occupy space and time. I don't know when I would have finished the recipe clearance challenge if I hadn't had this lurgy.......silver lining?
I did manage zumba this evening, mainly because numbers can be low on a Friday and they keep threatening to axe the class; I was determined to go even if I only did 1 dance just so they'd have my name on the attendance list. Actually I managed to keep going despite the shock of having to scrape ice off the windscreen before leaving (5.15pm).
Dare I do a lake swim tomorrow? Possibly not too wise although I'll be most upset if I don't go - have missed one when ill last week and the week before when I was at Mum's; next Saturday I'm meeting a friend in London for a dance show so may not swim first. Hard decision as I don't want to become de-acclimatised; I haven't needed a wetsuit yet - or at least, I didn't 3 weeks ago.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.6
